Rate the Game: Week 102
Good morning, y'all! We're back at it again with Rate the Game marching towards the final edition as we're down to the final 25 games. We drew one of those games last week and it was one of those rare titles that the "Haven't played it" option wasn't an issue. We all love our Ninja Turtles here, I suppose. But how much love does Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time end up with? Let's go to the board....
Well it certainly rises above the middle but it ends up ranking and scoring lower than its predecessor, landing at number 40 with a 3.92 average. Mind you, I included Fignuts's score of 4 even though it wasn't shown in the poll results. Being in the top half is nothing to sneeze at, I suppose. Which brings us to this week's game. Will it have enough to join the top of the pack? Come on out here, bowl, and show us your wares.... There we are. One game, fresh from the pile. This week we go venturing out into the wasteland as we take a look at Bethesda's Fallout 3! This title marked a radical change in the presentation of the Fallout series but was it a welcome change? Did we end up with a masterpiece with this new direction? Let's go to the poll and do that rating thing we do and share our experiences with this game, if any. Until next week! No matter what may happen to me, just remember Lzzy Hale gave me the bedroom eyes... ...again. |

Im voting 3 but its more like a 3.5. Built the foundation of modern fallout and did a lot of cool things along the way but boy that shit was jankarific. Still an awesomely weird time and a great world to just get lost in.

Gonna give this a 3. This was my 1st Fallout game and I had no fucking clue what I was doing. Never finished it, but remember it being really cool. The one aspect I didn't care for was having to go under tunnels or what seemed like fucked up car garages to get to new areas. That was very boring.

I know it's somewhat of a hot take, but I'm giving it a 5 and actually like it better than FNV. There, I said it.

And Three Dog and the GNR radio station? Not a single bad song in the bunch.

Disappointed to see LJ not out there fighting the good fight.
Also, the guy who voices Three Dog, Erik Todd Dellums, also voices a Skyrim Dark Brotherhood NPC who gives side contracts. |

Main complaints are that they shouldn't have had to release an add-on (Broken Steel) to let people keep playing upon completing the main story, or to actually allow the game to have a decent ending to the main story, and the other is just how weak the Mothership Zeta add-on is.

Fallout has always been one of those games where I have to immerse myself mentally. Like, okay, the world was just nuked, what would we be doing, how would it be going, etc.
FO76 nailed this feeling. People complained about the isolation and lack of NPC's........ but that's literally how things would be. It didn't make for the best "game" because of that, but with the right approach, it was quite the experience. For me, FO4 was the best. The story from that game really hooked me the 1st time through. The idea that underground, things were still technologically advanced because they were not affected by the bombs and getting able to mess around with it was amazing. |
