AEW is so rad. Awesome show. Especially considering all the injuries.

My thoughts on the PPV...
Claudio/Sabre was my favorite. Claudio will be awesome in AEW and of course would be great for NJPW if he gets to work there. There is literally no match I can think of in AEW that Claudio wouldn't be good in, save some that would be WWE retreads. I'm not sure how long Punk will be out, when Omega comes back... or Danielson but it would seem that if they build Claudio right that he could main event All Out against Moxley. Mox and Tanahashi was also my match of the night. Great main event and a much better wrestled match than any on the show other than Cladio/Sabre. The heat from the fans was awesome, Tanahashi proved to be one of the all time greatest baby faces by having The United Center in the palm of his hand and somehow making the beloved Mox get heel heat. Great fucking match. Mox is the man. Also gotta give it up for the opening 6-Man, Jericho and Suzuki orchestrated a great match utlilzing the younger guys really well. Sammy and Wheeler are awesome together and Umino is an obvious future mega star for NJPW. The six man with The Bullet Club vs The Dudes with Attitudes was just incredible. So much fun, nothing like The Young Bucks you guys. Sting was absolutely iconic, somehow exceeding any expectations that you could ever have, time after time. The way Sting is handled in AEW has been really really good. Just when you think the relevance is down or the nostalgia has run its course he will have a match and do a few spots that absolutely blow your mind and then he is still capable of doing enough moves and selling to still have a really good match. El Phantasmo moving to heavyweight is great because that dude is special, and Shingo is so good, so good. With AEW being so overcrowded I really hope they will lend some good talent to NJPW in the coming months, they need a boost there, and a lot of the WWE guys like Danielson wanted to be able to work in NJPW, so lets make it happen. |

Never saw Claudio pre-wwe - so I'm also excited at his possibilities. Always was a Cesaro mark

I gotta say that this show did boost my interest in NJPW. It showed me some of the guys they've been working on since I stopped watching (when AEW started essentially) like El Phantasmo, Takagi, Umino, NJPW Jungle Boy Clark Conners and it showed how Zack Sabre has really moved into a heavyweight star no doubts and sort of reestablished Jay White as a legit NJPW Champion.
It was effective for NJPW in a big way I expect. A small boost for their TV shows or NJPWorld is a big boost for them I'd say. And I think this show likely hooked some people who watch AEW but haven't been into NJPW for a while. |

There is something about Miro that just doesn't break through for me. He may have had some good matches in AEW but I really can't remember any to name right now. He is capable of doing the moves yes, he can do a character and talk and work the crowd really well... but there is something else in-between that isn't there for me.
Certainly part of it is his soft offense. He pulls his shots kind of like The Miz does in a way that doesn't feel threatening. He never learned how to "hit hard in safe places" like some of the Japanese guys like Suzuki or Ishii do, or like how Finlay and Regal, Danielson and Moxley do. They are able to really lay it in , in a way that makes you really think that it's kind of real, but you know they are actually taking care of each other at the same time right? Because they are the best. But Miro isn't on that level. So he does these big strikes that have the build up and all this powerful menacing motion but he lands so soft like a John Cena punch or a Miz kick... it just ruins it. And if you watch him closely I'm not sure he's really capable of "carrying a match". I don't think he really calls spots like most heels do. I really just think he's not on the level he presents himself and that a lot of people perceive him to be. I read that he originally took a smaller contract for a year and a half in AEW with the understanding his 2nd contract would be much bigger. And that all worked out for him now he's getting a main event level contract. And I think he can possibly be worth that kind of contract he just needs to be booked and managed much more specifically. His move set is kind of just wrong for his ability and he should totally change to a more "Vader" style and be booked as a brutal bull who can just run through anyone. It's really the only way I can see him being worth a main event level contract. |

I'm veering fast into not being a Mox fan. He has his place on the roster and I'm fine with that but I don't see alot to like there. If the blood was intentional....why? Can we not have a Mox match with blood like this is an indy-riffic GCW show? There is literally a show called Blood and Guts this Wednesday. We don't need blood on this show.. Cornette is gonna have a field day with this shit.
Also hated his promo to the crowd after. "You are lucky to have been here to see this" LOL fuck off. Who are you fooling? I get what he was saying and maybe it came out wrong but you can't turn your nose up at your paying customers saying "you should be grateful, we're doing this for your benefit" Whatever. Show went as expected. It was good. Could have been great. Not much else to say I haven't already said. |

On Miro: What I liked about him in WWE was that he wasn’t like every other indy wrestler. He would win with one finisher, but would also go down with one too. There was a charisma in that act. He then got the cloak of “fed bad” apologetics for his own shortcomings. He was stupid enough to change his image. Then he left, did the video game thing. I’m not saying he doesn’t have talent. But his strength is in how he is used and in him not fucking up.
On Mox: He jumped the shark for me in 2016. When Brock big-dogged him for being a little shit, his value kind of became apparent. He lost a spark and then got outdone for the rest of his run. Now he’s going down this path of being some faux-beacon of a wrestling I’m not anywhere near nostalgic for. |

Doesn’t sound like I missed much. I don’t care about Moxley, The BCC, new championships and now, sadly, Cesaro and New Japan. More desperate drops in a leaky bucket.

TK is bragging about $5 mil in revenue like that is supposed to be odd for a $50 PPV. That’s 100k domestic buys. In the US. In 2022. Yikes. |

Finally finished this last night. Overall a great show and perfect length. Some takeaways…
Shota Umino looked great. He’s prob going to be a star in New Japan. Given the fireball segment I wonder if he’s going to be on loan to AEW for a while to get more experience. Wouldn’t mind it as I wanna see more of him. Miro is damn beast. Booked perfectly in that 4 way match. And made to look unstoppable. Glad PAC gets some much deserved gold, but that match did more for Miro than anybody. The 3 way tag match was stellar. FTR came off like stars, Cobb is excellent, and the right team won. Hopefully this is just building to FTR going a hold of the AEW tag belts and owning 4 world tag titles simultaneously. Claudio looked great. Got a huge reaction, and prob had my favorite match of the night. No flippy shit high paced high spots. Just rasslin baby. He’ll be good fit in BCC where he won’t be the main mouthpiece and can just be the muscle of the group. The 4 way for the IWGP world title was ok. Adam Cole didn’t need to be there, but I’m guessing his job was to eat the pin. Saw later he was concussed and that explains the wtf ending. Okada treated like a huge star. Mox v Tana was good, and Tana is a great babyface. Had zero doubts he was losing but the crowd was completely behind him by the end. For such a shitty build, the in ring from this show absolutely delivered and now there’s a few stories coming out of it to look forward to going into Dynamite tomorrow. |

They make a rod for their own backs when they proclaim transparency but then engage in the same sort of shifty tactics with numbers as WWE.
