MLW Fusion
Anyone else watching MLW Fusion?
It airs Saturdays at 8pm central on BeIN Sports...yea I know almost no one gets that channel. But Mondays at 6pm central the newest episode gets uploaded to the MLW Youtube channel. The weekly show feels like 95 era ECW mixed with the Gabe era of ROH. Tom Lawlor is the world champ. Teddy Hart is the Middleweight champ and Teddy,Davey Boy Smith Jr and Brian Pillman Jr,as the Hart Foundation, are the Tag champs. And Alex Hammerstone just won the Openweight title. LA Park, the guy who was LA Parka in WCW,is part of a heel stable with his son,Ricky Martinez and Jimmy Havok. The newest episode had a main event of Tom Lawlor teaming up with Ross and Marshall VOn Erich vs COntra Unit. Contra Unit is Simon Gotch,The Fake Sheik dude that won the NWA world title a few years ago,and Jacob Fatu the Samoan Werewolf. It is the best hour of wrestling on TV each week. And worth watching. Most weeks you get 3 matches. Some other talent they use that are known are MJF,Low Ki,Pentagon Jr and Rey Fenix. |

Yeah and MLW is about to get good. Looking forward to their first PPV after their most recent show.
Really good roster, and you can't say enough about Fatu but one of my favorites the last couple years has been Hammerstone and it good to see him get a good opportunity. Plus they gave MJF who just kills it, Teddy Hart doing the best work of his career, and on top of that some really good storytelling. |

They have TV here in the UK so I’ve caught bits here and there. Do not like Brian Pillman Jr’s look.

Hard to really say. Not sure if Aries would be considered a heavyweight and I'm sure Tom Lawler's story with Contra Unit might be over by then. Also never know who they'll bring in by that time.

MLW just hired Chris DeJoseph, who was the head writer of Lucha Underground. Should be interesting.

Not a fan of Big Dick Johnson and he acted like a right cunt to the MLW guys when LU started up.

Same ordered it last week. Have $25 worth of FITE credits but it wouldn't let me purchase Bound For Glory or Super Fight with it. Hopefully they'll allow me to use it on the NWA show.

I just watched MLW Fusion #1 a couple of weeks ago from 2017 and I was very impressed.
I got a solid Austin Aries versus ACH match, a vignette for Jimmy Havoc, a squash match with a very large wrestler and then the main event was Pentagon Jr versus Rey Fenix which was amazing. Fucking killer and ahead of its time. I definitely intend on watching more. |

I feel it was unfortunate the go home shows for SuperFight were the Tiajuana Crash shows. Not a great month for MLW IMO. Those tapings came off very indy lucha.
Still excited for the PPV though. |

I think that LA Park is really cool and the main event will likely be pretty awesome but I am confused about the way they've booked MJF. I think they should have had him challenging Fatu on this PPV and that would have been a bigger buy rate because honestly Lucha fans don't buy PPV's it seems. Fatu having a bad ass match and killing MJF would have been kind of a smart move no?

Do they even consider MJF a heavyweight? Feel like since Low Ki dropped the title they've staying more in line with the weight divisions.

I guess you're right ... I consider him a heavyweight sized wrestler.

Was a bit let down by LA Park being in the main event as well. I like LA Park but he just doesn't do it for me as far as a main event guy in America. It will be a brutal match but I just think they could have done better.
My favorite in MLW is Hammerstone though. Seen him a few years ago when I believe it was PPW had a TV deal on a small channel and been a fan since. Think him and Davey Boy Jr could steal the show. Teddy Hart vs Austin Aries should be good as well. Feel like the tag match is the most predictable. Really don't see The Dynasty beating the Von Erichs. |
