Good free DVD playing software?
I've been using DVD Play for ages now, but I accentally "upgraded" to an older version and can't seem to find a version higher without paying.
I'd prefer not to pirate anything, so what I'm looking for is something free. I've used VLC and don't like the interface and stuff. I'd prefer something that's relatively "borderless" with pop up menus, like when you mouse over the screen. I'm watching on a notebook but not in full screen mode, so every inch counts (unlike my love life, where extra inches still wouldn't save me). Also, I'd prefer multiple speed fast forward and rewind. My only other need is something that's resouece light, as I play DVDs while writing and shit. Anyone using something like this currently? Looking for decent free DVD software is like looking for a needle in a pile of slightly shittier needles. “There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.” --John Rogers |
