Recommend me a phone...
So I'm looking for a phone. I'm planning on either going with AT&T or T Mobile.
I don't have the models right now but there are a few I'm looking at, but I'd like your opinions. I'm thinking an Android device would be best. I'm more than likely skipping out on the iPhone just because they rip you off with the data plan. This is a list of features I'd prefer/need: A full, hardware QWERTY keyboard - A must Non-proprietary/normal headphone jack - A must Good sound quality - A must, not only for calls (I have hit or miss hearing) but I really want to use the Last.FM or Pandora app on this. Probably won't use it for an MP3 player because I already have one. It'd get most of its play in the car so battery would be moot for music. Good battery life - A must GPS capabilities - Would be nice Slider that hides the keyboard - Would be nice Multitasking - Would be nice Decent web browsing - Would be nice Priced below $200 (after contract) - Would be nice, but it's flexible. So yeah, those are the big points I can think of. Help me out? Last edited by Xero; 05-30-2010 at 01:24 PM. |

Nokia N900 Keep the GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth off until you use them and it has everything. |

Samsung Galaxy
Everything you listed you can get, except the sliding keyboard (its a touch but a very good one) and it locks when not in use to prevent pocket dialing. /thread. |

No, no a gazillion times no. But LOL at the auto-lock being a feature. The N-Gage even did that.
I don't think Xero in his phone spec was looking for Samsungs mid-range phone. If you wanted to go Android instead of Nokia, I'd probably hit up the HTC Touch Pro 2. It's Windows Mobile by default but you can install Android on it, and then you have choice of 2 OS's as well Last edited by #BROKEN Hasney; 05-30-2010 at 04:20 PM. |

Touch Pro 2
Also, T-Mobile is just a terrible company and I am so glad I don't have them as a carrier anymore. Would avoid them like the plague, tbh. |

The Droid is a pretty good phone too, although a little old. Probably best choice if you can't afford one of the other two.
