Does anyone play Apex?
Not sure if this is crossplay or not. I'm playing on PS4. I think it is.



I'm about to be silver but i suck and looking for some partners. I have a mic.

I really hate these battle royal type games but Apex has hit the middle ground for me between Warzone and Overwatch.

I've gotten better because of just playing a lot but also because i've spent time toying with my aiming settings. That is a huge thing to do in this game and i'm playing on PS4.


I wont put money in this game. But i have grinded to a character unlock and I watched a lot of videos and decided Loba was my favorite as far as mechanics and abilities. I play her and Bangalore a lot. Gibby is not my thing though i know he's a upper class in this game atm.

I solo que all the time and people constantly drop us in a hostile spot. It drives me insane! I used to hate being the drop master but now i'm taking it when i get it because assholes keep dropping in where people are dropping in and it's a race/fire fight and it sucks and you can't gain RP that way!

It's high risk, high reward. Hot zones have the best gear. But it's only viable if the whole team is micced up and sticks together. RIGHT KALYX?!

I did not know I could go backwards after a level up. But I did. I went back to Silver 4 and then had a good round and got back to Silver 3.


I love and hate this game. I need a squad to go with.

I've felt that way too, but Apex feels different. I used to play Overwatch. Apex feels like Overwatch and Call of Duty had a baby.

Only thing I've been able to tolerate that has even something of a resemblance to anything battle royale-ish is Arms Race in Borderlands 3, but that's because you literally start with nothing and get starter gear and try and fight to win legendary stuff exclusive to the mode by "extracting" it to your Sanctuary III safe. It's just different enough than typical BL to be fun, but not an obnoxiously full-on battle royale mode.

Oh, yeah the big catch is the whole time you have to avoid a "Murdercane", which encroaches closer and stays stationary at varying phases. It's this huge windy, icy, snowy hurricane/tornado thing and if you get caught by it, it chips away at your shields and then your HP, until it either downs you or you get out of it's area of influence. Eventually it will get to a point where it forces you to go to face the boss, who can drop any Arms Race legendaries once defeated, and is guaranteed to drop at least one.

I was once a heavy hater of BR games. It's something you don't really 'get' until your first top 5 nail biter. And def the rush of a top three battle with the closing circle will hook you.

I dunno. I mean, I've watched the odd stream where a BR was used as a "warm-up" for whatever the main game for the day was going to be, and I still didn't "get it". I don't necessarily hate them, but I think I'll stick to only playing "battle royales" as a match type in wrestling games.

Exactly my issue with them. I don't really have an interest in trying to build my own cover to protect myself in an effort to try to be the last one standing or whatever other concept is offered. Then again, I fully realize, understand and accept that I'm not by any means the target demographic for those types of games.

They... they're videogames. Playing them is the default experience. As a consumer product it's perfectly fair to watch gameplay and decide to pass, we don't owe devs playtime or a purchase, but in the age of F2P games there's literally nothing to lose seeing for sure. I mean, I already don't have enough time in the day to play all the games I want to play. I've got a huge back log to get through, and so I definitely don't have time to be playing something I know I'm gonna hate. Not to mention those games are notoriously filled with lobbies screaming all kinds of obscenities and profanities at each other that I just do not need to hear - the cons vastly outweigh the pros.

Actually no a typical BR is just you and two others. And if the two others are randoms playing music or screaming a single button mutes them. Even in Arena Shooters the old 'toxic lobbies' thing is dead nobody really uses mic anymore.
