Top Ten: Promoter's Kid
This list, I am going to name the top 10 Promoter's Kids who ended up wrestling themselves. I have said, in defense of Bill Watts years ago, that if you are a Wrestling promoter and you have a kid, at some point they are going to put a pair of trunks on wrestle. It often comes out with Mixed Results, but there have been some winners.
By this, I am referring to careers of the children of wrestling promoters, maybe not necessarily in the promotions their parents were in charge of. All they had to do was be the child of a promoter and wrestled themselves. To make it more interesting, I am going to go with only one kid. Else this list would be filled with Harts, Rhodes', and Von Erichs. 10. Shane McMahon. I had to go with the biggest promoter in the world kid at #10. I only have him at #10 because he was a part timer. 9. Carlito. His father was Carlos Colon, who more or less ran Puerto Rico for years. Carlito was not quite as good as his Legendary father, but a solid hand in his own right. He had a pretty decent WWE run, but could have been more. 8. Art Barr. Dude was kind of a POS (raped a girl). That said, he had a brief, but memorable run as the Juicer, and was in one of the hottest teams in the world called Los Gringos Locos, with some guy named Eddie Guerrero. 7. Gene LeBell. One of two oddities in this list. He was a Promoter's Son. But the promoter wasn't his Dad. It was his Mother, Aileen LeBell Eaton (no relation to Bobby). 6. Kerry Von Erich. David was better. Kevin is the only one still alive. But Kerry is the only one to be World Champion. He was a pretty good hand in the ring, with the David Cassidy looks and the excellent fire. And his entire WWF run he only had one foot. 5. Jeff Jarrett. His dad was Jerry Jarrett, who promoted Memphis. I almost put Brian Christopher on here, as well. An excellent mid card guy who was too often put in the main event. I said that any promotion built around Jeff Jarrett deserved to fail. I stand by this, but I respect his talent. He just shouldn't be a top guy. 4. Charlotte Flair. The other oddity, obviously. The Promoter's Daughter wasn't really a thing. Her father would book WCW at various times. But she is a great wrestler. Maybe a tad overbooked, but I get why. 3. Cody. Both he and his brother Dustin are really good. I almost put both on this list, before I decided on the "one kid only rule." He has already had the better career, and at least a good 10 more years ahead of him. 2. Bret Hart. Stu ran Calgary (duh). It was really tough between him and Owen. But Bret had a few advantages. Mainly the World Title runs, and his ability to tell great stories with anyone. Only one person was better than him. 1. Randy Savage. The son of Outlaw promoter Angelo Poffo. Dude was the epitome of the Cocaine fueled wrestling promos of the 80s. And he's a Cultural Icon on par with Hogan from that era. And I could have very well have put Lanny on this list, as well. Thoughts? complaints? = "KARA-TAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!" Question Mark.

No love for Greg Gagne or Mike Graham?
They may not have been all that great, but they held down their father's territories and at least were dependable to their Booker fathers. I put them in a different category then guys who got jobs because of their dad's like the earlier mentioned Erik Watts or a David Sammartino (pretty sure Bruno had some booking responsibility). |

Greg Gagne should definitely make the list ahead of Carlito and Shane. The High Flyers were an extremely successful team and very good.
Was never a big Mike Graham fan, although I didn't see much of his 70's stuff l. I would remove Shane and Carlito and and add Greg Gagne and Jacques Rougeau depending on what you consider Jacques Sr. His uncles Johnny was more of the promoter. |

Erik Watts actually got pretty good by the end of the 90s. He randomly showed back up in WCW in like 1999 in raver pants. Lol the IWC used to refer to him as Ecstasy Erik around then

Mike Graham was a solid worker and was the best foil for Kevin Sullivan in Florida that wasn't named Rhodes or Windham/Mulligan. I could replace him with Carlito and not miss a second sleep. Now, if I allowed for multiple kids per Promoter, it likely would have looked like: 10. Lanny Poffo. 9. David Von Erich. 8. Goldust. 7. Kerry Von Erich. 6. Jeff Jarrett. 5. Charlotte Flair. 4. Cody 3. Owen Hart. 2. Bret Hart. 1. Randy Savage |

Another one would be Barry Windham, Blackjack Mulligan was a booker and bought the Funk's promotion. |
