How did Brock Lesnar vs Samoa Joe not become the greatest feud of the last few years?
I think people forget how good it was because they only feuded for the one month and it was on a forgettable ppv. But just look at this shit.
The match itself may have ended a bit prematurely, but it was still afun sprint.Besides that tiny nitpick, this was pro wrestling at its very best. I remeber reports of Brock really enjoying working with joe, which is clearly evident, because he tallks more than he ever has in the build, and he bumped all over the place for Joe in the match. How did they never revisit this? |

I went to Great Balls of Fire and really enjoyed the match live until the anti-climatic ending

I remember liking the Great Balls of Fire PPV... barely remember anything about the feud though

I remember being super disappointed in this too.... They really missed out on the chance to build a main event scene around a couple of hosses for awhile.... could have had Joe/Lesnar/Strowman all going at it.... which they did for one month, but instead of establishing Joe or Strowman it just pushed them back down.
Feel like missing out on that opportunity with Joe and/or Strowman was one of the "final straws" for me watching.... |

If Samoa Joe wasn't so injury prone, I have no doubt in my mind that he would've become a IC or tag champion. Sadly that's his ceiling in WWE. Nobody in their right mind would make him the face of their company. It's laughable.

I'm not saying he should be. But the fact that they never built to a rematch after this stellar program, is mind boggling.

That's because they never expected the program to get so much fanfare. With limited availability, it's only fair for them to use Lesnar in storylines they deem beneficial. Roman Reigns was always the end goal. Joe was merely a roadblock.

This actually boosted the Network numbers for a bit too, didn’t it? They could have done so much with these two and come back to it later.
