See Beckham at half time? There's your fucking replacement for Capello. Beckham looked perfect when they were coming off. He's 100% in there for it. Our Maradona. WE need a total change. Fuck off these guys who have had their last chance. I am surprised we got through.

I do enjoy a hilarious over-reacting backlash though. Bring on the front page of the papers tomorrow.

Exactly, they were won the match, but that doesn't make them better. If I played table tennis with you and moved away everytime you hit a shot, that doesn't make you better than me, it just means I wasn't there to hit it back and you got no competition, hence you win.

Give credit to a good team who could've put 7 past us, for goodness sake.
When it was 3-1 it pretty much summed it up quite well, throwin in their half, they can't control the ball, give it away cheaply, Germany cut through 80% of the pitch in about 4 passes. If they do end up playing Argentina it will be interesting as they're not exactly tight at the back either. Both teams built to counter-attack, think it might be close. |

They were absolutely brutal on the counter-attack. I could be wrong on this but don't the majority of the German players still play in the Bundesliga?

I wasn't on about the result, I was saying that every German player looked better than his English counterpart.

Yes. They took a bad 2006 and built the youth up and maintained rulings in the Bundesliga to play x amount of domestic players. A rule that should be in every league in every continent and as I said, the youth is what England need to do. Build it up now.

Now that I checked it, there's only one player that plays abroad in the German team for WC, and he didn't even play this match.

Their defence didn't look so good. Just we never fucking attacked them. If we didn't have James, it could of been worse. I can't believe they kept Upson in and more tot he point got him man marking.

It's no coincidence the English team has been in decline ever since the Premier League started to spiral out of control, but so long as it keeps making MONEY (supposedly)...

Yep that was what I was trying to point out. Until Setanta Sports was accessible in Australia recently you couldn't really see much of the Bundesliga here but since I've been watching Setanta I've realised how much of a quality league it is. England desperately needs to 1) find some younger players and 2) play them like the Germans did this World Cup.

2) he's still playing 3) all this bs about PASSION~! is exactly why we lose time and again. The players aren't good enough, it's nothing to do with desire or any of the other bollocks you care to spout. |

You never know another 4 or 5 world cups like this and they might realise that England haven't had a good side in a long long time.

Fuck me, that just shows you didn't even read what I said and wtf if he is still playing. So people can't quit for being offered a job? Oh of course not cos of the force field between playing and management. They will keep Capello til 2012 more than likely. But if they don't, I don't see flyers at the door for the job.

I did read it, it was nonsensical bullshit. Somehow because I'm a Wolves fan and I have 12000 posts on here you seem to have imposed on me some sense of entitlement or superiority because I disagree with what you're saying.
And as we all know good players make good managers right? Oh. |

Actually you know what, being a Wolves fan does give me some insight here, because you sound like the parts of our fanbase who wanted Paul Ince appointed after Hoddle resigned. Eerily similar, actually.

There's a list I could give that would say it would pretty much balance itself out, if not agree with good players making good managers. You can't do much more than Pep Guardiola. He wasn't an amazing player, a good player and I think he's gone past good manager.
I wouldn't say Beckham is an amazing player, or was. I don't think Amazing players make good managers, but I guess Maradona is aiming and might just make us re-think. But as Beckham is a good player, I do believe he can do a Ferguson, Ancelotti, or even Le Guen (at Lyon!) |

Well Argentina scraped through qualifying, so I wouldn't go overboard. But he has the core of a very good team and arguably the best player in the world. England don't, hence it would take a very good manager to get them up to that standard.
Besides which there's no evidence he even wants to go into management. He'll probably just stay in LA and do the odd appearance on Cribs or whatever. |

BTW, Ince isn't ready for management at all imo. He should be an assistant for a few years. I think what did him was all this "Black manager" bollocks. He ascended too fast and to far up for what he is capable of. Right now anyway, who am I to say he won't lead Man Utd or something to the title 20 years from now? |

So, who's the scapegoat for this latest disappointment then? Unlike other years, the tabloids have a choice:
Gareth Barry, Matthew Upson, Assistant Referee, Fabio Capello, Wayne Rooney or other? |

Both the ref and Capello, cause he's the best paid manager at this WC.

I'm really hoping the Mail can blame it on the paparazzi that chased Diana down the tunnel in France.

The Germans weren't that good -they just exploited our weaknesses so easily through simply plans and level-headed ideas. For me, no-one other than James deserves to be free of criticism.

Don't get me wrong, I am disappointed that we're no longer part of the world cup; but I'm relieved that Germany banged in another 2 goals. I couldn't tolerate months and months of idiots moaning about Lampard's "goal".

In theory being able to keep your head and play to your best isn't something that should be highlighted as exceptional, but until our players can demonstrate they can do it we probably should laud the Germans. |

The England players won't care. They have plenty to look forward to when they get back.
Gareth fucking Barry is on £150k a week. There's your problem. The English players mentality. Who cares if they lose? Only the fans. And most of them don't support the clubs they play for. England need a manager who will say 'fuck you and your money, if you don't want to play, then fuck off'. That man is either Roy Hodgson or Harry Redknapp. |
