If the ending to this series doesn't have multiple possibilities, I am sure people will be outraged.

There is probably going to be at least 3 different endings with Shep either dying in a blaze of glory like the ending of Halo Reach, saves everyone and goes out as a hero, or if you were bad/mean to everyone in the series you get the horrible/worst ending.

Based on a few leaks, it appears multiplayer will be the "killer new feature" Bioware had boasted last week about the game and just like every other EA published game, it will also have the mandatory EA Online Pass setup.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Multiplayer means less focus on polishing up the single player. The balancing could be a nightmare as well, with all the powers. It'd be better to do as a spinoff title.

Although they do say co-op "missions" and that it's "not what you fear" so sounds like it will be totally separate to the main game.

The multiplayer affects the campaign somehow, but you don't miss any content by not playing it.

They also used their Montreal studio to beef up resource so nothing was compromised.

Beta got accidentally uploaded to Xbox Live Marketplace before getting quickly taken down but enough time passed for screen shots to be taken.

It appears some people noticed the conversation trees can be skipped or automated for responses instead of having to manually make a choice in the previous games.

Bioware confirmed there are now 3 modes for gameplay. They also confirmed the leak occurred on Microsoft's side of the servers.

Quote:
One feature that was present in this early build is a set of game play modes that are in development. In the beta code they are referred to as "action mode", "story mode" and "RPG mode". We want to stress that these features are still in the early stages of development and will receive considerable iteration and refinement. These modes are designed to give players an even finer degree of control over their game experience than ever before. Whether it be someone who finds the combat difficult but wants to experience the amazing story, someone who wants to focus on the action and combat game play, or fans who want the rich, story-driven RPG Mass Effect experience they've come to love – Mass Effect 3 will support all of these options. We'll have more info in the days ahead!"

Apparently Bioware is having a lot of problems preventing parts of the story and other aspects of the game from being leaked and have gone as far as sending a cease and desist order to the Neogaf forums. Bioware's own Mass Effect 3 forums are having a similar problem with Bioware trying to delete or shut down topics involving the leaks.

Based on what some hackers found out, the story which was meant to finish the trilogy is in a huge mess.
SPOILER: show
None of the choices from the 1st two games have any real impact in the ME 3 story and the ending is a huge letdown compared to the hype.

It also appears the previously leaked 3 gameplay style modes are the main reason for the potential storyline mess.
Quote:
The file has since been taken down, but not before users starting mining it for information, including BioWare’s decision to give players three new options to customize their playstyle: Action Mode, Story Mode, RPG Mode. The specifics of each are still being tweaked, revealed Houston, but as it stands, Action Mode removes conversation options, Story Mode makes combat very easy, and RPG Mode is what we’ve all been playing all along.

The Citadel plot which was cut or reduced in Mass Effect 2 will return in Mass Effect 3. There was some potential plans for a DLC pack to improve the Citadel's role in the game but eventually got nixed by Bioware or EA.

In terms of storyline importance, it will be similar to Mass Effect 1 where it played a huge role in the game.

Bioware states Mass Effect 3 will be a lot harder than the first 2 games and sort of requires the co-op missions to be played in order to help the solo campaign.

Quote:
"Veteran difficulty from Mass Effect 1 and 2 will be more on par with normal in Mass Effect 3."

This is to make the oncoming threat of the Reapers seem that much more deadly. It's also a means to encourage players to check out the cooperative multiplayer mode, which can assist in their single player game. The goal is to increase the "readiness" rating of planets in single player, and the co-op boosts that rating. They also make sure to say that if you fail against the Reapers, you can always go back to an earlier save to continue preparing.

I assume it means the carry over from ME1 or ME2 won't be of any real benefit (ex. ME2 starts at Level 5 if you had a ME1 save) and to make the game "longer" with the new difficulty spike. Might be related to how Halo's Legendary got tougher for each new game in the series (Reach gives an achievement for surviving Legendary by yourself).

They basically hinted in order to actually beat ME3's Veteran difficulty, you need to play the co-op missions to unlock some special benefits for solo. Its also their way of pushing the multiplayer aspect in a series that used to be solo-only.

It won't because the "Horde" mode doesn't support split screen nor any local co-op from what was either revealed before or from the beta.

3 guns and 1 type of armor has been set aside as the pre-order bonuses for the game although they come in packs of either the armor with Valkrine rifle or the shotgun with Argus rifle.

Quote:
Shrug off enemy fire with the N7 Defender Armor and its amplified shields then drop the opposition with high caliber fire from the N7 Valkyrie Assault Rifle.

When the enemy has overwhelming numbers bring the M55 Argus Assault Rifle into battle and unleash rapid-fire bursts to even the odds. If the enemy gets too close, stop them dead with the AT12 Raider Shotgun and its superior firepower.

New screenshots were also released showing off a brand new enemy for the game.

I didn't play ME1, but I noticed a lot of missions where I discovered fucked up shit that they had done as well as shit I found during the conversations I had with the crew.

I got the feeling that taking the Reaper tech was going to fuck us up in a variety of ways:
1. It'd allow Cerberus to take over the Galaxy and subjugate all aliens
2. It'd be an intentional trap just like the Collector IFF
3. It'd be the beginning of the end for humanity as the Reaper tech would transform us as a species

I wasn't even really pissed when Miranda died during my end mission. I sided with Jack during their argument because...fuck...how do you let that kind of shit slide?

I lost Miranda, Legion (even though he was loyal and straight-up perfect for the job in the ducts) and Zaeed or whatever his name was, I hated him anyways so it wasn't a big deal.

I just hope I get to have Grunt on my team next game. Though I've heard that he won't be in it.

Cerberus' number one concern has always been displayed as 'doing whatever it takes for humanity'.

I just wasn't expecting them to be full blown evil in the third.

I remember reading that the stats were going to be more in depth. I also remember reading that the guns were going to be more customizable as well.

I'm actually replaying the game now so that I can have a game save where everyone survives and is loyal to me. I think that Miranda may back-stab me in ME3, but I think there's potential for her being a good ally.

Plus, I heard Grunt isn't going to be a squad member in ME3 and Legion died inexplicably (he was LOYAL!) during the suicide mission.

The trick with people dying is that everyone is given a 'hold the line' point value.

People like Grunt and Zaeed have more points than say Mordin or Legion. So basically, if you take Grunt and Zaeed in your squad with you, and have Garrus escorting all of your shipmates back to the Normandy, it leaves your line weak, opening up the possibility to have your team die.

Hopefully that makes sense.

My Hard Drive crashed and I lost my save files.

Any word on how this might load me into 3? Will they see I got the achievement for all living crew and import that into the newest game? I hope so, I dont want some generic shit. They should just have a template that you can answer questions for to set it up.

1) Kaiden or Ashley
2) Love Interest
3) Crew living.

Just Big things like that.

Sucks that My punching of the reporter in 2 games wont be imported.

It's weird the first time I played the game Miranda was like "I quit" to the Elusive Man. She didn't do that the second time I played. Was it just because she wasn't there in the final crew in the mission?

Wrong. If you didn't have a save from ME1 when starting a new ME2 game, it just asked you to create a new Cmdr. Shepard, although I don't remember if they showed a cinematic bringing you up to speed on the story after that or not. Pretty sure they'll do the same for ME3.

You can buy thing on Mass Effect 2 which goes through all the major decision points that you had to do in Mass Effect 1. Sort of runs like a movie.

Sure they will have the same thing for finale.

I know that, but that's not what we were talking about, couch sleeper. Hanso wants it to read his achievements since his hard drive died, so he could have ME3 begin based off what he did in the previous game, not be brought up to speed because he didn't play the first one and started with ME2.

And by the way, Bioware has already said they aren't doing the comic back story thing this time.

I think the Genophage is going to be extremely important in the ME3. I just got back to that mission and played it differently, convinced Mordin to keep the work towards a cure. Krogan are going to be invaluable when facing the Reapers!

I redid the game and somehow lost Jack (couldn't get my paragon points up high enough to get her to be loyal. Thought having her with me would have saved her life.)

Here are the things I believe will effect our chances at defeating the reapers:

1. keeping the work towards curing the Krogan genophage
2. infecting the geth with the virus Legion re-wrote
3. Keeping the collector base for Cerberus

The more Krogan and Geth we have to fight the Reapers the better. The collector base seems to be more of an unknown. Will keeping it come back to bite us in the ass?

Would you work with the devil if it meant saving the galaxy?
