Braun needs to cash in a Head of time HIAC match to at least neutralize Shield causing a dq. You know they'd still get in cell

Kevin Owens should try to become friends with Brock again. Owens and a returning Sami Zayn to even out the odds. Sami and Kevin can constantly be trying to find a way to steal the briefcase from Braun and each other.

It's an interesting storyline they've put in front of us.
I'm assuming Braun still has the briefcase since the match never really started. So, The Shield for like the 5th time is back together and Rollins and Ambrose's purpose is to protect Reigns and the Universal title. Some of us will boo, some will cheer. I'd like to know how Braun is gonna go about this. Is he going to find some friends to even the odds? Systematically eliminate Ambrose and Rollins? Bide his time and try again in the future? Really, I'm curious. |

Yeah it's quite interesting, hopefully the Shield goes full heel.

In terms of heel/face thing. Obviously we're in a different era, so who knows anymore, but if you look at it in terms of logic, it was a 3 on 1 attack. That's heel booking 101. Also I think we can all agree Braun is the bigger babyface on the pecking order in terms of himself and Roman.
But then again Braun was taking the cheap way to beat Roman for the Title, which can be seen as a pussy heel move, but the audience loved it. So who knows. But i do believe the audience will cheer Braun way more in this feud, especially with the odds stacked against him. Overcoming the odds is the easiest way to make people cheer for you. and if you think about it, The Shield's whole concept is making sure Justice is served. so it works perfectly here. Roman just had a match, so there's no justice in Braun coming out and taking advantage on Reigns while he's down. it could really go either way. i don't know if the writers even know. |

if they wanted to, they could stretch this Shield thing way into next year when the Undisputed Era debuts. I just don't know if Adam Cole/Roman Reigns would draw? Do you guys think half the fan base know who they are? |

Neither is going to be a heel. Braun is just a babyface that lies and is a hypocrite, and Roman Reigns is just a babyface that is hated and hides behind his friends while wearing safety gear. Faces and heels are for professional wrestling. Roman and Braun are sports entertainment characters with a spectrum of human emotions, qualities and motivations.
Nothing is going to be affected by this at all. It's just another wheel turning. Braun will be mad that his cowardly plan was thwarted by the cowards and no one will look good because they don't know how to do babyfaces anymore. |

I would really enjoy Reigns vs Adam Cole. I can't speak for most audiences, but I had no idea who Cole was before he came to NXT. I imagine more people are aware of at least him, though. |

I think these giant jacked up babyfaces working with these undersized, scrawny heels is more of a problem than sometimes admitted by people. Bobby Lashley working with Sami Zayn in Chicago might have been the exact moment anyone that wanted to have hope for him threw in the towel. The big guy looks like a bully tossing around the smaller guys, or he looks like a weak fuck when the heel beats him up for 15 minutes.
I just mention that, because while I have grown to appreciate Adam Cole's talents, Roman Reigns should eat him for lunch. The Undisputed Era, a team of three cruiserweights -- they are basically 3 Count -- coming in and feuding with The Shield is just ridiculous. There's a place for Adam Cole, but I'm not sure if it's as Roman Reigns' arch-nemesis. |

There are some people that can do it. Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker had a great dynamic with Shawn being the cocky prick that woke up the sleeping giant. Bryan is great and one of my favorites, don't get me wrong. But there are also guys that just do moves, indy-style, and they kind of just pretend that they are believable fighters.
Cole could be a great chicken-shit. His cowardly self-preservation tactics are great. With a bad-ass that knows what they're doing, he could be great. I just don't buy him as a bad-ass. I want to see him as the underhanded slimeball. The idea of him, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong coming down to the ring to have an "epic clash" with the likes of Roman Reigns is just too bush league for me these days. |

Bigger issue overall is the problem with lazy character development and lack of build. Read: shit booking.
Lashley does look like a bully against Zayn... but that is more symptomatic of the company not taking proper time to make Zayn seem like a threat in any capacity in the last few years and the presentation that Bobby Lashley is still the big black heavy he was the last time he was in the company. If Zayn was still that "never say die/I need competition/pull wins out of my ass because I can hang" guy he started in NXT as instead of the goofy, annoying guy who has to hide behind his fat friend to stand a chance, this wouldn't be a conversation anyone would be having. You'd think Zayn stood a chance. That's the bigger problem. No pun intended. They have a habit of trying to book a smaller guy less like just being a smaller guy and more like he doesn't belong. That only reinforces the idea. Jericho was a smaller guy. B****t was a smaller guy. You wouldn't really know it, because they weren't constantly pigeonholed there. CM Punk looked like a shithead on his last run because he was constantly losing on national television AS THE WORLD CHAMPION. Sure, he won title defences, but seriously who does that? Who books their world champion to constantly job? So, that makes him look like he shouldn't be champ. I would buy Adam Cole, Even Redder Dragon, and Roddy Strong as threats if WWE were as keen on making them seem as such as, say, they did initially with The Radicalz. By constantly making an environment to where the muscular guy out-powers the better technical wrestler 100% of the time, you cut their nuts off before you even start. There are supposed to be different archetypes to this shit. WWE has always tried to focus on the one at the expense of everything else. |

I completely disagree that is even what happens though. Everyone works the same style. Your points are completely correct, in that shit booking doesn't help, but it's shit work, shit psychology, shit babyfaces and shit heels.

I do think there's something to be said about that most of the male roster looks like any guy on the street that's in shape. Short hair, decent build, athletic, beards. you can go to any crossfit or gym and find these guys. seems like everyone is tatted up now and days too. Hell most of the NFL roster looks like pro wrestlers now and days
Not a lot of guys look like Braun or Roman or Harper or Rowen etc.... Longer hair still stands out better then guys with short hair. so at least Cole has that going for him. It's hard to stand out when you look like the general population that participates in every cross fit or marathon race there is. you know what i mean? |

Almost everyone on the roster is essentially the same, i.e., either slightly cut or slightly overweight, with tattoos and beards. They also have no emphasis on character development or why characters do the things they do.

I just got this in my e-mail for Raw October 29th. do they really book matches months in advance? I guess this would confirm The Shield as faces.

They will promote the Dark Match main events pretty early, yeah.....
But they are always "subject to change" |
