I've grown to appreciate Baron Corbin for what he is. I hate the gimmick, but he understands his role in wrestling and doesn't pander to the bullshit internet fans. People mocked the dog food stuff, but that's simple wrestling. I'll take that (as will most people) over Sammy Guevara doing bad singing on the Chris Jericho Fellatio Show.
He's probably going to get his face caved in by Riddle and it'll be a nice moment for Riddle to continue building momentum away from that anchor of an IC Title. Could be a fine SummerSlam match. |

These new intro previews hyping up the stuff for the night's show have been a pretty great idea.

Going to laugh if they end up splitting Nikki Cross and Alexa Bliss as a team. Women's tag division barely has any teams to begin with and like only one that's an actual full-time team.

For as much time as Bliss vs. Cross got for a #1 contender's match, having it end via a cheap roll-up and not even in a good way was very anti-climatic.
Match itself kept going back and forth from being meh to being surprisingly good. |

If Matt Riddle is the "Original Bro" then who took over as the new or modern bro in WWE and/or wrestling?

Miz twerking to Naomi's entrance theme ended up being a thing that actually happened tonight.

That might have been one of the worst Miz Tv's segments in a while. Only saving grace was Naomi's promo managed to be pretty decent to good by the end of it.

at New Day finally going ahead with their real life long-term goal of wanting Big E to have his time in the spotlight as a singles star.
Kofi telling Big E to go ahead and "put your meat on my meat" didn't sound PG at all. |

#1 contender's for IC title 4-way match was very good. Highlight of the show so far.
Gran Metalik vs. AJ Styles for the title next week should be great. Scratch that, this Otis and Mandy vignette has been the real highlight of the show so far. Last edited by Emperor Smeat; 07-24-2020 at 09:40 PM. |

Guess Extreme Rules really would have had 3 cinematic style or inspired matches had this Bar Fight taken place on the show and WWE didn't change their plans for the Eye for an Eye match.
Just doing two would have been overkill but had they actually went ahead with 3, would have been another instance of WWE taking something good and quickly dragging it down to the ground. |

at Jeff getting his head dunked into a urinal.
This has already been way more enjoyable than the Swamp Fight was. |

Finish was a bit dumb but that Bar Fight was amazing.
This week's episode was mostly enjoyable overall. Didn't really drag like most episodes in recent months but still has the same issues of not really doing enough to hook people into watching regularly if you were not already. Fatal 4-way match and Bar Fight are the only things I'd really recommend to watch from this show. |

Daniel Bryan is apparently on the creative team. I was hoping he'd push for some sort of booking position with his contract coming up. The show sounds pretty logical. I'm no fan of Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross, but it seems like it is going towards a program between the two, but it is building, at least. Gran Metalik getting a match against AJ Styles could be an awesome spot for him. And Gable got to wrestle -- always a plus. Big E getting a singles push is a great move.
Matt Riddle's promo sounds awful. Just let him talk like a human and make fun of the obnoxious king guy. Don't become obnoxious yourself. SmackDown could really shed Braun, Bray, Jeff and Sheamus. Of them, I only really like Jeff, but they could all help out Raw by going there. It's a shame Braun is the champion. He sucks. |

WWE really needs to add these show preview intros SD has had going for the past several weeks for RAW and NXT as well.
They've been pretty great overall and have been a good run down for what's on tap for a show. Better than WWE's current way of barely announcing ahead of time what's scheduled for a show. |

For a guy who's one of WWE's best high flyers and cruisers, this IC title match hasn't really been a good showcase of Metalik's skills.
Right now, feels like every other Styles tv match in recent weeks where its a lot more slower in pace and drawn out simply to eat up a huge chunk of tv time. |

Last couple minutes of the IC title match was pretty good but the rest of it, not so much.
Thought this would have been a banger of a match based on its potential going in. |

These piped in crowd reactions for Corbin are terrible.
Plus holy shit at 3 Baron Corbin segments planned for tonight's show. Already had a backstage segment with Shorty G, now he's doing a promo segment with Jeff Hardy, and now is in a match with Drew Gulak. |

at Drew Gulak looking like a huge dweeb after easily losing to Corbin following that distraction spot by Riddle to help him.

Shame to hear about Styles and Metalik. The guy is supposed to be really good, and could be a pretty valuable addition to the company in the right spot. It’s probably the first time him and Styles have worked together. They’d probably benefit with a few more showings.

That was an amazing Stretch Muffler spot Big E did to the Miz.
Match itself was also very good which feels somewhat weird for a Miz match. Been a long time since that's happened for him. |

Naomi somewhat busted out the ugliest and botchiest Canadian Destroyer ever.
Even if that was meant to be a sunset flip powerbomb instead, strong contender for worst looking one ever.

Sonya should probably visit Dr. Shelby to sort out her anger issues.
Either that or she just snapped and became a badass submission machine. |

at these Micheal Cole voice overs during the SD Women's title match. Sounded soo bad and out of place compared to how the rest of commentary has been tonight.

at them teasing again of a breakup between Nikki and Alexa. Women's Tag division would be down to like 2 teams if that happened since Kabuki Warriors just split.
Also that ending with Bray and Alexa was both weird and terrible even by cheesy/shitty horror standards. This week's episode was somewhat good overall although only stuff I'd bother recommending was the Big E vs. Miz match, Crazy Sonya segment with Mandy, and maybe Bayley vs. Nikki plus post-match stuff. |

The Women's Tag Titles don't matter. They were a bad idea from the start. They now serve as a functional reason to get whichever women they want on different shows. You only need a few over teams for a division anyway. It's an internet myth that more = better.
Big E should probably get a big push. He's got the look, the talent, tenure in the company and The New Day feels played out. Don't turn him heel or anything. Just let him go through the ranks and keep climbing and see if he gains traction. |

Are they going to put Braun and Alexa together? I don't know whether I'd watch that porno or not.

Assuming WWE really does go forward with breaking up Alexa and Nikki, that would leave the Women's Tag division with just Sasha Banks & Bayley and The IIconics. Both heel teams and one is pretty much a huge non-factor in terms of interest. Even including NXT for some depth adds like just 1 team with Dakota Kai & Rachel Gonzalez. Also another notable heel tag team. That's how dire WWE's Women's tag division has become in terms of depth and quality. |

Was it a bad idea from the start? I was saying so back then. But it depends on your perspective. It's the same with the NXT NA Title. They've kept those belts around for over a year just floating about. They'll make up a random babyface team when they want a random babyface team to take them. That's the way it's been from the start and the way it'll go into the future. |

Like maybe very early on since that's been the only real time the division had any real direction or purpose and when they bothered to put together some teams for it.
For as strong as NXT's women's division has been for the past 1-2 years, NXT completely dropped the ball on developing any teams for the main roster and division. No clue on the exact reason but can say for sure they didn't even bother to try at all based on watching NXT. Even when NXT would go through its phases of neglecting their tag division, they at least had the Dusty Classic around for some short term focus. |

But is the end game with all that? Who cares if NXT puts Dakota Kai & Tegan Nox together as a team and they end up as fluffy babyfaces on SmackDown? It's all just the same shit shuffled around. They can put teams together when they want teams together.
I can see the argument for never having done it. I can see the functionality in it being a set of belts to just put on people and cycle shit around. But I just can't justify the dramatic stakes that people project into this division when it's never been there and arguably was never intended to be. It's like getting upset because the 24/7 Title hasn't found a stable home or had an intense feud over it. No shit. The Women's Tag Titles are there, at best, to give two women a way to jump between the shows (not that the roster split is sacrosanct or anything). At worst they are two shiny things for two girls to have. |
