Your favorite cruiserweight matches of all time
Eddie Guerrero vs Rey Mysterio from Halloween Havoc '97 where Rey's mask was on the line against Eddie's Cruiserweight title is still my favorite cruiserweight match of all time. Feel free to share yours, doesn't have to be restricted to WWE and WCW.
Also, that time when Jericho countered Rey Rey's hurricanrana attempt from the top rope into the Liontamer was pretty cool. I haven't followed Malenko's work as closely. Looking for some recommendations |

I loved Ultimo Dragon’s work. Chris Jericho was great too. They had a really good match against each other in WAR. I also remember really liking a Jericho/Juvi match.

Just watched the Guerrero vs. Mysterio match in the original post... pretty good
What was most interesting to me is how much better the commentary is than WWE commentary now.......... Mike Tenay really good with the history and stuff, made the match feel "important" |

Watched Fenix vs. Bandido vs. Flamita match in the first video Dave Wadding posted...
Fenix and Bandido so freaking good... (wasn't paying enough attention to Flamita due to preconceived feeling that Fenix and Bandido rule, so was paying more attention to them) |

Dean Malenko vs. Scotty 2 Hotty from Backlash 2000 is a match I still remember watching live and being taken aback by how good it was. One of the most underrrated/overlooked matches in WWE history.

Hiromu Takahashi vs. Kushida at Wrestle Kingdom 11 was pretty amazing.
Wadding posted a few videos earlier but Lucha Underground in general was full of quality and great Cruiser/Lucha matches. Way too many to pick from for a personal favorite or two. |

It's just surprisingly good for a WWE PPV from that era in terms of mat wrestling mixed with high spots. It was pretty slow for a while though and the only move that really pops is the high spot DDT which had to be pretty dangerous. Heat was always better for Malenko matches. The best one I can remember was Malenko/Lynn which must have been 12 minutes of wall to wall action. I've probably exaggerated that with nostalgia and reminiscing but if it ever turns up on the network then we'll know. The original Kaientai vs Taka feud had some good matches. Dick Togo was cool and had some sweet impact moves but WWE lightweight wrestlers were always in a sinkhole. Last edited by Seanny One Ball; 05-14-2019 at 12:15 AM. |

This is for the Noah GHC Heavyweight Title, but it's between two junior heavyweights who are getting to main event for the first time and it's basically make it or break it time for juniors in the main event scene in Noah.
