The closing visual of all the superstars laying on the floor after sacrificing their bodies to an absolutely insane degree while Brock Lesnar looks down talking shit and smirking was a very appropriate one. Randy Orton leaning back on the barrier with a “WTF, really?!” was also very appropriate. WWE is confusing character heat with product hate. I’m usually very positive about WWE product, but this finish is quite a “fuck you”. This finish is almost as annoying as Cena beating Batista with fucking duct tape.

I’m betting Jericho will help make more stars in AEW in one year than Brock will have made through this entire megapush from WMXXX to when he is actually finished with his WWE career. Jericho will be to AEW what Terry Funk was to ECW.

I don't believe Jericho was ever selfish when it came to putting over younger talent. He has every right to criticize WWE's mundane booking. This is genuinely one of the worst periods to be a WWE fan.

Something tells me that Lesnar's MITB victory might have something to do with WWE Super Showdown. It is absolutely disheartening.

*wants us to believe a spinning back Elbow spot he stole from Andrade is some amazingly innovative and devastating finisher I suppose though if the other guys in the MITB match didn't want to lose, they could have just cancelled the match right |

Caught up to the stuff I missed earlier, 2nd half of the show was a lot more enjoyable than the first half baring the terrible ending to the Men's MitB match.
Usos vs Bryan/Rowan was decent but was dumb having the Usos beat Bryan and Rowan, especially with Bryan eating the pin. Men's MitB ladder match was better overall than the Women's but the Women's one had the better ending. Mandy arguably was the worst out of everyone in both MitB matches. Mysterio vs Joe was mind blowing dumb. Besides having no reason for being as short as it was, the ref botched it big time with the pin count. Cage match was decent but with a dumb result and wrong guy winning. at back-to-back PPVs where Miz lost via being dumb. Cruiser title match was decent but legit surprised it got a spot on the main card. Becky vs Lacey was good and arguably Lacey's best match in WWE/NXT soo far. Charlotte vs Becky was also pretty good but lost all interest with the ending sequence. Charlotte has become the female version of Cena/Orton with the amount of padded title reigns she has. Charlotte probably going to be a 10 time champ within a month or two with the way WWE handles Charlotte's title losses. |

I don't mind Brock winning MITB, because Brock is awesome and none of the talent in there are really main event level. At the same time, Jericho has a point. But WWE has more problems outside this bubble. That they don't have anyone to build next to Brock is an issue.

Lol, WWE are introducing a new title? I immediately went to either a Mixed Tag Title or some sort of floating mid-card belt. Vince hates "Television Title," but I can see it being some sort of "symbol of the wild card rule." A lot of people are saying Hardcore Title, but that just seems weird.

Was there really a "Yowie Wowie" chant when Finn Balor almost died? I think that shows how much people care.

I like Brock Lesnar
Like ideally they would create new stars, but they haven't and 99% of the roster is "just guys" and Lesnar is more interesting than the vast majority to me |

Sweet baby Jesus! Even if Lesnar is over, the MITB concept isn't meant for established stars even if Cena and Orton have held the briefcase in the past. It's a temporary "bandaid" solution. They're so "brand oriented" and avoiding creating new superstars, that their current model will crumble in a decade's time.

Yep. I know we have differing opinions on Brock. I know he’s more than capable of putting on bangers when he’s motivated and facing the right opponent. But I largely find him dull as dishwater and that the company has to keep bending over backwards to bring him back because they’ve not even tried to build anyone else makes it worse.
My subscription ends June 6th, coincidentally the day before the next blood money show. Re-subbing was already a tough sell but this made the decision easier. The back catalog is nice, but I haven’t got the time to utilize it. In terms of current stuff, I still enjoy NXT (I treat it as a stand-alone product and ignore that everyone will be ruined when they get called up). But I can watch that on Hulu so why spend another $10? I’ve got tickets to Takeover in a couple weeks which I’m fine with as I know I’ll be getting a great show. But that’ll be my last WWE expenditure for a long time. |

I mean, it’s a frustrating thing the company has gotten you to this point, but I hope you feel better doing it. I like Brock, but the general feeling of the company is enough for me to root against them. It’s not the right tone to be striking with your fans right now. Good riddance to them. |

I can't believe I am saying this, but I am looking forward to AEW starting up now. It will at least give a shift towards what wrestling "could be" again.
I didn't even wake up mad or upset. Just really disappointed. Everything about that ladder match screamed about "making the star" like they had claimed at one point. Turning someone from a mid card into what could be a future star. I really hope that they hold off on him cashing in till the Fox show when they debut there as it will actually work out then. Have them tease it for awhile till they actually pull the trigger. But I can really see them having him cash in at Saudimania, which will anger myself (and a lot of people as well). |

Vince has really got his finger on the pulse of the audience. Ratings down, attendance down, so let's bring back a 2 move wonder who has to carry a Jew around in his pocket to talk for him.
I'm only surprised he climbed the ladder himself and didn't send tubsy wubsy up it. |

The action in both MITB matches was good and Seth/AJ was really good -- but I would say the rest of the show was 'not so hot' for me, personally.

Both MITB matches were good. The men's match was CRAZY, especially for some of the spots that were put out. Finn Balor has to be sore as hell but from what I have read, he escaped serious injury. Everyone did their job in that match and the saddest part is that it did not matter at all. I won't be surprised at all if I hear about the talent in the locker room being upset with the result from tonight, especially those in the ladder match. I know we joke about ladder matches being career shorteners, but for some of the guys, they did do that tonight. And for what....NOTHING. Finn Balor isn't more over because he took a powerbomb onto a ladder. Andrade's sunset flip on that powerbomb is just another spot instead of it being the move that "changed everything". Even someone like Orton looks like a chump. My question would be when did they decide to give Brock the briefcase. Saturday? Last Monday? Just an overall disappointing night for WWE when they were so much good that could have happened. |

Like if instead of Brock you had Bray win. That would have been a MOMENT. And Bray sulking in the shadows with that briefcase all the time would have been gold.

I am sure Brock winning was all to set-up his (already announced via their own f'n press release) Seth vs Brock at SSD. I can't see them having Brock keep it until October, they are clearly not booking anything long-term right now, just throwing lots of crap at the wall.
I also assume this new title is related to SSD as well, not unlike The WWE World Cup & Crown Jewel. |

I'm still going to turn RAW on in the background tonight, but my subscription ends in a few days for the Network.
Hoping AEW can provide an alternate, it's really needed right now. |

So apparently Ali was supposed to win the briefcase. He and the other 6 wrestlers were told during the day that he would not be winning but that he would be near the belt and someone would come out and knock him off the ladder and that person would win the match.
Gee, wonder why you had to hide from your entire roster that Brock was going to run out and win the match. Screw Vince. Such awful booking and way to shove two middle fingers in the face of the guys who were in that match |

Yeah. The MITB gimmick is kinda dumb and isn’t gonna solely make a star. They need to actually put long term effort into making a star. Until they do that, Brock should take precedent over everyone.

I have no interest in the unveiling of the new title tonight. Usually such things excite me but I am expecting them to do something revolting. Unless it’s a workrate themed junior heavyweight title. Which is probably not going to happen.

Only upside to him winning the MitB case is less cash-in teases since he rarely shows up to RAW to begin with. Assuming the stuff about Ali is true, they could have used that victory to begin building him up as their next potential big star or at least pick Ricochet since Vince needing a star to build up quickly was the main reason for his callup. |
