Does it ever bug you when you're playing a game that you can kill thousands of bad guys and still not make a dent in the country/organization/cult/zombie population?

I feel like there should be a set number and my murders should have some sort of effect on those I'm waging war against.

I'm kind of OCD though...

it can get bothersome in a game where you backtrack, especially if its an almost instant respawn. Far Cry 2 irritated me because of this.

I will never play Far Cry 2. Thanks for the warning.

I always hated it. I remember in MGS for PS1..just taking out all the guards in a room..walking out..coming back into the room and they were all back. I didn't mind this back in the day in side scrollers as long as it was done moderately. But I expect better in this day and age dammit!

Exactly. I want to play a war game where if I slaughter 2,000 enemy soldiers they'll start freaking out.

Closet game I can think of where you could actually set the number of enemies in a level would be the Rainbow Six games under Terrorist Hunt mode.

Kind of sucked that Vegas 1 Terrorist Hunt mode didn't have the player select the number since it was based on achievements and only went by groups of 10s.

Lot of games now have a set number of enemies. Not as much of a problem.

I was sort of annoyed at how in Diablo 2 Bosses would respawn.

Doesn't normally bother me, but sometimes it just strikes me as lazy.

What do you mean based on achievements? It's been a long time since I've played, but I could've sworn they have a density select option.

In the older Rainbow Six Terrorist Hunt mode you could specify how many terrorists you wanted on the map. So if you wanted just 1 person, the map loaded with just 1 enemy.

For Vegas 1, the lowest you could set it was to 10 terrorists since there was an achievement for beating a Terrorist Hunt map regardless if you used 10,20, or 30 terrorists.

Although to be fair I've only played a couple of the older Tom Clancy games (Rainbow Six N64 version, Ghost Recon 1) and Vegas 1 so its possible it wasn't always customizable.

I'm just pretty sure I killed over a thousand people in Modern Warfare 2.

I get annoyed in grand theft auto when you slaughter gang members only for the gang to keep respawning.

Yeah I quite like being a tactical sneaky bastard in games and thats just pointless when the enemy respawn.

I hate how my enemies respawn in Wii Sports resort.
