I just downloaded the new In Flames single.
After anticipating Reroute to Remain and being let down, I didn't really have high expectations for this. When I found out that the single got leaked yesterday, I wasn't in a rush to get it. I finally found time to care today, so I decided to download it.
Usually, my reviews go into detail on each song, or at least point out what I like or dislike about the song being reviewed. After that, I give a review of the album as a whole. But that's just the general format. This review won't be like that. The review will be in black below [for those who don't want to be spoiled]. Highlight the area below this to read the review. . It sucks. . . . . Really bad. . . . . . . . . . . I mean, like, man... it really sucks. . . . . . . Think Korn... mixed with... something that really sucks. . . . . . Like Linkin Park, or something. . . . . . . Because man, it fu>ckng blows. Hope that review helps anyone who's curious. |

After listening to "Dead God In Me" and "The Quiet Place" back to back, I cracked up laughing. The before and after makes comparing "Master of Puppets" and "St. Anger" a piece of cake. I'd rather have my scrotum ripped from my body than buy the new In Flames single.

I liked Reroute to Remain.
Does this mean that I will like this new single or is it even more toned down than Reroute to Remain? |

Take Linkin Park's general songwriting approach [with all the electronics and techno], remove the rapping, add a few Korn style riffs and Korn style vocals.

By this point, they've forgotten the meaning of guitar solo. There's not even a signature In Flames melody passage, and in the song "Borders and Shading", there's barely any melody at all.

Hmm, I'll wait until I hear it for myself, but I'm even less enthusiastic about the new album than before now...

Oh dear.
"Interesting" would be one word I would use describe it... although that's drifting strongly towards "rubbish". |

In Flames suck. Check out The Crown or Dark Tranquility.

Oh, and if you look, two other tracks off the album are also leaked. They're not much better, although one of them does show promise... let down by a horrible opening riff and some dodgy production/mixing though.

The single has three songs on it. That's what I reviewed.

It's not actually the single, it's actually an album promo.
The single is going to have a totally different tracklisting. |

I like to know all the facts too, but this was In Flames' last hope gone to waste.

I like most of the Colony album, and the Whoracle album as well.
"Dialogue with the Stars" is a good song.. doesn't Vintersorg have a song called that as well? |

Jesus H. Christ. I was just going to take asphyxy's word for it, but I got curious... and wow... seriously, I thought I was listening to Linkin Park for a second. How the fu>ck does a band like In Flames degrade to something this bad? I agree, this hardly compares to MetallicA. All three songs = garbage.
