I thought way back when that Two Face would be back, at least in a minor villain-back-to-hero role.
Maybe Scarecrow again? lol |

Go ahead and edit the title Jeri, I would but it won't let me anymore.
Very curious as to who it'll be if not Riddler. |

Scarecrow will probably be about in a cameo type of way at least.
I will mark if two face is back though. Loved that performance in TDK. |

They need to put the Scarecrow in every movie.

Interesting thought. He nixes the Riddler who was long rumored. Why not put Harley Quinn in

Harley Quinn would have been a great character to bring in, but without Joker I don't really think she really has a role.
She would have been perfect to spring Joker from the joint, and stay around as his right hand woman. I would have liked to see the Nolan-version of her. She'd probably have been the Nancy to Joker's Sid. |

I'm completely baffled by why some people want to see Joker recast

Unless it's 15+ years down the line and Nolan and Bale reunite to do a fourth Dark Knight Returns-esque film where everyone's older and the story is revisited. Even still I think it would be very iffy.
The series will probably have been rebooted by then though. Obviously a new actor playing Joker is fine in a new series. |

After looking over the list here is what I have.
Catwoman - Completely possible Clayface - Somewhat possible if you use Preston Payne Deadshot - Would be kinda fun Hush - Think it would be him, but is he mainstream known enough? Penguin - Would be mad creepy in Nolans world, have him as a deformed looking crime boss Scarecrow - Maybe have him play the big role again? |

I think I may have discussed with you (or someone) that teh only person I think could do The Joker to the extent that Ledger did is Johnny Depp (yeah, might be cliche but hear me out) Johnny Depp has a penant for engulfing himself in his roles and not looking like an actor playing a part, but rather the character himself. Jack Sparrow, Edward Scissorhands, Raoul Duke, etc. Having said taht, I still wouldnt like the Joker recast to begin with. |

Playing quirky characters in makeup doesn't mean he's right for the role of The Joker though.
I think people just say that because Johhny Depp looks like Nolan's Joker a bit, and everyone our age has a hard on for him. The only thing I hate more than suggestion of recasting The Joker, is suggestion of recasting Johnny Depp as The Joker, to be frank. |

Hush would easily work in Nolan's world. It would be great really, and although the average moviegoer has no clue who he is, he would get over very quickly. The only problem is Hush's character is out for Batman because of something in his past. It's a revenge story dating back to childhood, and he hasn't been established at all. It could be accomplished through flashbacks or creative screenwriting, but that would likely kill any potential suprise. They only have one movie to work with. Then again, I thought Hush's identity was obvious by the first few pages of the book, and it didn't kill the reveal for me. It would likely make the movie into a mystery picture, which would show off some more of Bats detective side and probably make for a great flick, but I'm not sure that's the story they're looking for in the 3rd and final movie. Especially after the scale and style of the story in TDK. |

Damn, Tom Hardy could definitely play Hush now that I think of it. I could also see him as Black Mask, Bane and Riddler though.

Just kidding by the way. Honestly I dont have so much a hard on for the guy as I do for how well he plays his character in the role he has been given. He seems genuinely dedicated to getting it right. |

It's not that I don't think other actors would be dedicated to getting it right. I'm sure they'd be thrilled to land the role and act their hearts out. I just don't think there is such thing as getting it right. That role belonged to Ledger and I think when he was buried it was buried with him. Until the next series obviously.

Give me a hot Poison Ivy with Bane as her sidekick, and I will watch it nonetheless.

I have no problems with recasting The Joker.
IF The Joker doesn't play a large role. If it is just for like, one or two scenes... I say go for it. Also... perhaps we can see Lady Shiva, in some sort of connection to Ra's Al Ghul? |

While I would love to see Clayface on the big screen, I don't think we'll ever see him in Nolan's Gotham - he's just a bit too sci-fi to fit in with this Batman franchise.

Oh shit. I had forgotten that the cops were looking for Batman at the end of The Dark Knight. Harvey Bullock sounds awesome and could hire some tier 2 bad guys to help him too.

If Harvey Bullock is seriously the main antagonist of DKR I will be sincerely disappointed. Batman has one of the greatest rogue's galleries of all time and I know they can do better than just Bullock. I think Tom Hardy would play the role beautifully, but I don't want him as the main opponent of Batman's - more as a consistent nuisance throughout the film.

That's where someone like Penguin works best though, as a corrupt public figure. The enemy of my enemy is my friend type deal. So whilst Penguin is bad he's not "as bad as Batman".
