My pro-Riley talk has been blown-up simply because it's a retort to your blind hatred of the man. Honestly, he doesn't even really do much for me. I just really enjoyed his face turn in 2011 and don't think he's the bleeding shits. |

I somehow missed that the WWE has re-signed Gavin Spears to a developmental contract. I was actually just thinking about this guy the other day. He never really did too much for the WWE, but he was a featured performer in OVW back when it was a developmental territory and played a small role on ECW, but never really gained much traction.
It'll be interesting to see just what, if anything, Spears achieves in the WWE. Keep in mind that a performer in OVW called Aaron Stevens got called up to the main roster as Idol Stevens, essentially did not much of anything, got released and eventually got re-signed as and re-packaged as Damien Sandow. |

Spears has been quite the successful tag team performer over the years, securing championships alongside Cody Rhodes, Dolph Ziggler & Damien Sandow.

I hope Daniel Bryan wins the WWE Championship at Battleground and then a troubled Triple H realizes that if you want something done right you need to do it yourself. He announces Bryan will defend the WWE Championship against himself at Hell in a Cell.

Lol heard the greatest story ever about Balls Mahoney on a shoot video last night.
Apparently Balls has been telling this story for years that he killed a great white shark off the coast of New Jersey with a spork and that he's completely serious that it happened. |

Here's how I would book Battleground to try and make it stand out as a PPV:
* The Kickoff Match is a six-man tag pitting The Usos & Justin Gabriel against The Wyatt Family. Bray Wyatt pins Justin Gabriel with Sister Abigail in a match designed to continue the winning streak of The Family. * The opening match of the PPV is a World Heavyweight Championship match pitting Alberto Del Rio against Rob Van Dam. Due to Del Rio getting himself intentionally disqualified at Night of Champions (which isn't "best for business"), RVD has been allowed to name what sort of match he gets with Del Rio at Battleground; and RVD has selected that Ricardo Rodriguez is the Special Guest Referee. Ricardo has promised to call this right down the middle, because he has too much respect for the World Heavyweight Championship to taint it, but Del Rio doesn't believe that. He strikes Ricardo during the match. Del Rio goes to use a weapon on Del Rio, but Ricardo grabs the weapon out of nowhere. He clocks Del Rio with it instead and then RVD heads up and hits a Five Star Frog Splash for the win. Ricardo gets to count the shoulders of the former employer who betrayed him and announce his new best friend the World Heavyweight Champion. * The Prime Time Players defeat The Shield to become the new WWE Tag Team Champions. Darren Young plays face-in-peril, but tags in O'Neil who cleans house. O'Neil hits Clash of the Titus on Rollins, but Reigns saves the match. Young tags back in and O'Neil and Reigns brawl to the outside, and Reigns sends O'Neil into the ring steps. Reigns goes to Spear Young, but Darren leap-frogs over and Reigns Spears Rollins. Young hits the Gut Check on Reigns and then covers Rollins for the three. * Natalya defeats AJ Lee with the Sharpshooter to become the new Divas Champion. These two actually get the time to wrestle a full match and Nattie gets the smart and clean victory over AJ. After the match, Tyson Kidd comes out and celebrates with Natalya on the stage. * Dean Ambrose wins two straight falls in a Fatal 4-Way Match that is contested for both the United States Championship and Intercontinental Championship, defeating Curtis Axel, Dolph Ziggler & Kofi Kingston. The first fall is for Curtis Axel's IC Title, which Ambrose wins when he grabs Ziggler and finishes him with his signature Headlock Driver. Like a boss, Ambrose then retains his United States Championship when he catches Kofi in a Crossface Chickenwing, and Kofi's arm drops and the referee calls the match. * CM Punk defeats Ryback in a Street Fight. The two brawl all over the place and use tables, ladders and chairs to beat the crap out of each other. Punk manages to chase Paul Heyman to somewhere near the stage area, and he looks to hurt Heyman in a big way, but Curtis Axel comes out of nowhere and tries to save Heyman, only for Axel to get tossed off the stage. Ryback then takes advantage of the match and tosses Punk back into the ring, unconscious. Heyman is calling for Punk's blood and tells Ryback not to finish the match yet -- "Hurt him!" Ryback gets another table out and looks to powerbomb Punk through it, but Punk counters and roundhouse kicks Ryback in the head, slumping him onto the table. Punk goes for the Savage Elbow on the tabled Ryback, but Heyman gets on the apron. Punk kicks Heyman off and then drives his elbow through the heart of Ryback and gets the pin to beat Heyman's newest pet project. * Daniel Bryan defeats Randy Orton in a 3 Strikes Match to become the new WWE Champion. The first fall is pinfall only, which Bryan wins when he manages to backslide Orton after an RKO attempt about fifteen minutes into the match. Bryan is up to the second strike, which is submission. Orton gets frustrated by Bryan's submission attempts and loses it, kicking Bryan low. Orton then hits the RKO on Bryan and gets the pin, also reaching the submission stage. Orton then wears down Bryan with chinlocks, and they even do a tease where Bryan's arm goes to drop, but he keeps fighting. Bryan hits some of his signature moves, but the commentators stress that he can't pin Orton. Bryan eventually manages to lock in The YES! Lock and Orton is forced to tap out, leading to the final fall -- Last Man Standing. Orton is still looking for his submissions, and busts out moves like the Figure Four, which JBL points out could take out Bryan's legs, which makes standing in the final round difficult. Bryan has a counter for everything, though, and manages to hit his new knee strike finisher to knock Orton out for the ten count. Bryan wins the match 3-1. |

Just what Ryback needs: another ppv loss.
Also, do not get the love whatsoever for Dean Ambrose. Wyatt Family needs a feud badly. They are just treading water. The people who were happy to see Cena and Sheamus hurt should look at the current roster now. The lack of star. Power is pathetic. |

I could see Punk and Ryback having another Hell in a Cell match against each other at the following PPV, and Ryback could win that one. |

Dean Ambrose is one of the more natural performers on the roster, in my opinion. I will grant you that sometimes it seems like he's trying too hard to be animated, but I enjoy his effort.

Also, Ambrose is awesome at what he does. Has that vibe that he's genuinely kinda fucked in the head. Just not seeing him as "the future". More a Pillman-esque, entertaining midcard staple.

According to Dave Meltzer/Wrestling Observer, the odds of Mr Anderson signing a new contract with TNA don't look good right now. Also face the possibility of only being able to keep one between AJ and Sting since both deals end around the same time.

I love how everyone keeps writing Rollins off. I'm telling you, he's gonna be the guy later on, while Reigns becomes yet another "powerful big man" lost in the shuffle, and Ambrose gets misused in spite of his apparent skills and seal of approval from various credible sources.

JTG's last televised win was on May 8th, 2012 against Yoshi Tatsu on NXT. Which come to think of it, I don't think NXT was "televised" back then.
Going to his first non-NXT win, it occurred on August 2nd, 2011 on Smackdown in a six man tag match. |
