PAL Games
I've downloaded PAL games and played them on my modded ps2 and they always appear black and white
is there any way to get around this? |

Not downloading games that aren't compatible with your country's TV system always tends to be a good start.

Haha I can answer this.
I had the same problem with my PS1 when I modded it. Tons of internet isos are pals for psx...so I kinda had to live with it. First off I'm surprised your tv is displaying the images without scrolling. PAL runs at 50 Hz and NTSC runs at 60 so on most TV's....the picture will scroll. Unless you have a PAL TV or a really old TV or have a vertical hold knob, I'm surprised the image is staying still. I had to buy a ****ing multisystem TV from Chicago to get my image to hold on PAL games. What I do for gaming.... But onto your answer, I had to buy a PAL-NTSC PSX/PS2 Color Converter, which was about 15 bucks. I found a link to one here PS2 PAL-NTSC Converter But wait....I have an NTSC(American) television, so you need to make sure that is what you have. Because I'm reading around about this balck & white problem...and they are saying stuff about SCART's and stuff I didn't have problems with. Here is a link to a converter that talks about the black and white problem. This converter goes into an aerial out, so that means its not meant for american TV's (they have coax outs). 2nd Converter Make sure what you buy is what will work. If you have any other questions just ask |

As another explaination, all mod chips allow for all BIOS to be used, so the region of the PSX or the PS2 doesn't matter. I was just worried about the region of the TV.

Are you using a scart lead?
Im suprised your country has not caught on with dual modes. I live in England and all TV's now come with NTSC compatability. |
