Curb Your Enthusiasm
I was just looking on Amazon.com for Seinfeld, just to make sure they didn't release their first season on DVD yet. Anyway, one of the things that came up was the complete first season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Not knowing what it was and noticing that it was rated 5/5 stars I looked at it and it compared it to Seinfeld but about a writer/comic in LA. I was just wondering, is this show like Seinfeld at all? And if it is, is it good, for example for a guy who doesnt have HBO, would you recommend that I try to catch an episode somehow?

It's fuc>king hilarious. It is sort of like Seinfeld in that the plots are about stupid misunderstandings and the like, but it's more edgy and more improvised. Larry David is the star (executive producer of Seinfeld).

Yea one of my favourite shows... actually it's one of the few shows that I like... that isn't a cartoon.

YES it is ****ing hilarious.
It is exactly like Seinfeld, but better in some ways. The main character, Larry David, was the co-creator of Seinfeld and the main writer. Plus, George Costanza was based on him. My friend described it best: "It's Seinfeld with balls." |

Curb Your Enthusiasm owns.
Like everyone else said, it's Senifeld, but edgier. The way it's shot is cool too, for some reason. I DUNNO WHY BUT IT IS. |

Yep, I just posted how I loved the show like two weeks ago. I was just watching it on HBO Comedy. I can't wait for the DVD. But I would watch an episode on KAAZA first just to make sure you like it cause I know people who love the show and people who absolutely hate it. I would download "Trick or Treat" or the "Krazy Eyez" one.

Lol, I saw this topic and I came to post in it because I just bought season 4 today, and what the hell...I made it? Anyway, the only episode I've ever seen is Chet's Sweater, and it was pretty hilarious. I had a gift certificate and figured the newest season is probably good. Any opinions?

And BCWWF, Chet's Shirt was the first one I saw too. Ridiculously funny. I just saw the one where Larry buys a prostitute to go to the game with him so he can use the carpool lane. |

Have to say that CYE is the best comedy show I’ve seen in years. Larry David is fucking hilarious and some of the episodes are absolute genius.
Have the first three seasons on DVD and the fourth should be arriving on September 17th. Can’t wait. Personally, my favourite episode is the one where an ex-girlfriend asks Larry to offer her some support by attending an Incest survivors meeting with her. The reaction on his face when the group are sharing their stories with each other is fuckin hilarious. One of the best comedy moments I’ve seen. |

Has anyone seen the episode where they finally open the restraunt, but the new chef has tourrettes(spell?). Everyone is sitting down for their meals and all of hte sudden the chef starts cussing. Then everyone is silent until Larry starts cussing, then everyone in the restraunt starts cussing.

Im at college no HBO. I'm very upset with that. Plus my schoold download speeds are terribly slow unless from like a website. ie Torrents, P2P stuff goes slow. Either way I'll find a way to download it.

Another classic episode tonight. Season 5, just as all the rest, won't disappoint. Greatest part of the entire series? 99% improv. |

I've only seen one episode with an aunt dying and the advert (forgot the word) saying "dearly beloved cunt" instead of aunt.

How much do the seasons normally cost? I had a gift certificate so I bought season 4 in the bookstore, but they are all marked as $40. The bookstore always jacks up the prices, what are they normally?
