New WWE Films Project: Big Red
From PWInsider:
The synopsis of the WWE Studios project "Big Red" reads as follows: "In 1965, as the world changes all around him, 12-year-old Andy Nichol comes of age when he's asked by his favorite teacher, Mr. Simon, to partner with school outcast Big Red for an English assignment." WWE has optioned the script to produce so chances are it will be re-worked to fit with whatever talent they want to feature in the film. --- This is too perfect for Kane. "Big Red"? An outcast? Come on, Big Red Machine. English assignment? Kane was an English teacher. |

From PWInsider:
According to the Variety report Dave Scherer wrote about earlier today, the WWE Studios film "Big Red" will feature Randy Orton. The plot of the coming of film reads, "In 1965, as the world changes all around him, 12-year-old Andy Nichol comes of age when he's asked by his favorite teacher, Mr. Simon, to partner with school outcast Big Red for an English assignment." No word on who Orton will be playing in the film yet. WWE acquired the script with the idea of tailoring it to one of their talents a few months back. lol |

school's principal. Orton plays the father of the outcast who wants to get the teacher fired. The film will start shooting in and around New Orleans next week. The casting of Harris and Madigan is part of the WWE's latest strategy of putting it's wrestlers with established actors, rather than having them carry an entire film like they have done in the past with John Cena and Steve Austin. So Orton's in. Hopefully we'll still see Kane as the outcast, because like Xero said, the first thing any WWE fan might think of besides bubble gum or soda when they hear the words "Big Red" are likely to be more along the lines of "The Big Red Machine" (i.e., Kane)...totally agree with Xero that it would be a perfect fit despite the outcast character supposedly being 12.
