View Full Version : Wouldn't it be really smart for WWE to use NXT to lure us back on board?

I'll keep this short.

I was watching Smackdown and they plugged NXT on WWE.com and I got to thinking...

Why don't they try to gear this show towards the internet audience? If WWE was putting on a weekly competition show with good indy wrestlers that we all are fond of, and allowed them time and permission to actually have "great" matches wouldn't that fucking rock?

Of course WWE still has NXT in international markets which alone make the show worth keeping alive. But as an experiment, I'd like to see WWE go another way with NXT this season. Keep it young and fresh of course but maybe a little more hardcore. And by hardcore I don't mean gushing blood and garbage cans etc... I just mean hardcore wrestling the way we all love it, kick your head in or choke you out style.

It's the way all the young guys work on the indy's these days. If a wrestler concentrates on good submissions and strikes then they don't have to do career shorting bumps from the top rope or neck drops to wow the audience.

BASICALLY WRESTLE LIKE BRYAN DANIELSON. GOD.

While in theory this would be an awesome idea, I feel it would defeat the E's purpose of teaching the indy talents to wrestle "WWE" style matches which is why most of the indy guys roll through FCW first. I do miss the days of matches going longer than 10 minutes....but alas it's probably not gonna happen anytime soon considering they are marketing to 10 year old's with 45 second attention spans.

True. But they got a chance to get us back! Do it WWE, do one for us!!!

LOL, they could, but this is the same company that usually shits on their OWN employees when in their home town...holding your breath would prove fatal :-)

"We're" not the ones they need to draw back. Like it or not, the internet fans are mutants, and have a lot higher threshold for shit than the casual fans (see: fans who'll actually influence ratings) do.

So yeah, they throw some indy guys on there, and then what...a couple of thousand people (tops) tune in? They'll see Raw and tune right the fuck back out, and no one would even notice.

Lol christ. The IWC is like 5000 people, 2500 who are holier than thou and hate the WWE regardless. It'd be useless. Plus, I enjoy the WWE being smark free. The last thing I want to hear at a live event is some douche yelling that " you're selling that move wrong"

You must not go to many WWE events, Gert.

5000 people? Yeah right, J-TV gets thousands of people to stream Raw and Smackdown and other events. Pushing a internet only TV show with good stories and matches gives WWE 24 hr exposure and no cost with high income from adds. If WWE does NXT online well I could see it regularly getting the same amount of views as Impact.

People watching Raw on JTV doesn't mean they are part of the IWC. They may be just too cheap to buy cable. Lol I stream shit all the time.

Now you must all define what it means to be part of the IWC!

We'd need more internet wrestlers to pull it off I think.

You should see the workrate of the stuffed bear. I do spend the entire time yelling at the crocodile for not selling moves right, well until my mom calls me for supper.

The crocodile has no personality though in the mold of Rodrick Strong.
