View Full Version : TNA Money?

So, I'm curious to know how much money TNA actually is making (if any?) and how much they're spending. I can't imagine Panda Energy will continue to just pour money into TNA very long without seeing some substantial profit or growth.
Owning, operating and investing in numerous businesses myself (both large and small) through the years, I know I wouldn't be happy with the results or product they were putting out with my investment. They don't seem to have any consistent substantial growth in sales, audience, or ratings from my perspective.
Anyone have any ideas of how much they spend/earn or thoughts on the Panda Energy/TNA investment, money, etc., timeline?

I imagine their profits went down/expences went up as soon as the signed Hogan.
And what good has that done TNA?

TNA only lost money from 2002-2007. Panda Energy own the company and as it is the pet project of Dixie Carter (the owner of Panda's daughter) and most feds take a little while to get going, it has been allowed to lose money. Also TNA started on TV straight away without any slow build which is almost unheard of.
They are now making a profit thanks to increased money from SpikeTV for 2 hour shows rather than 1 hour, increased number of non-televised house shows and licensing the video game to Midway.

Unlike WWE, TNA Wrestling is a privately held company so that information is not made available to the public. However, TNA Wrestling (which does business as TNA Entertainment, LLC) is owned by Panda Energy International and Jeff Jarrett. Panda Energy International is the majority owner with Jarrett still retaining something like 15%. I have heard that the company should be turning a profit by now, however, I am unable to confirm that 100% or go into details about it.

Alot of the higher paid talent on that list arent there anymore, and i know Flair gets paid by Panda Energy not TNA so im not sure if that comes from the TNA budget. Although the money they saved is probably what pays Hogan and Bischoff. $100K for Karen Angle??

Flair is pulling at least $500,000 with his limited scheduled of appearances.

Touche.
They spend way too much on stupid shit nobody cares about. I'd love to see them justify paying $200k on Frank Trigg to come in and have some shitty angle with AJ Styles. I bet Pacman Jones got a shitload of cash as well.

It's a fact that TNA made a revenue of $15 million in 2007 . In 2008 TNA tripled it's revenue thus making their 2008 revenue $45 million dollar's. In recent interviews Dixie Carter said that their was a 75% increase of revenue from 2008 to 2009. I did the math and that make's their 2009 revenue roughly $80 million dollars ($78.75 million)

Apparantly the knockouts make fuck all, even when they were getting the highest ratings on Impact, not sure if i read that on the front page though. Guess that explains Gail Kim jumping though.

i don't see any way TNA could realistically be turning a profit.
their only revenue is from PPVs, which no one watches, merchandise, which no one buys, and tickets when they tour, which is rarely and i'm sure no one goes to that when they do.
and then on the other hand, they have the salaries of dozens of employees to pay, most of them useless and overpaid, all sorts of expenses which i don't feel like listing out.
it's pretty much a given that when they brought on hogan, bischoff and the rest of the nWo washouts they were expecting a huge increase in viewership etc. which never happened (remember when they tried to go head to head on monday nights? LOL) and now they're paying out the ass for it.

i dunno but i find this hard to belive for most of the members here. for ex. awesome kong 100k and wanted a raise? IMO thats enough for a female wrestle to earn in a company like TNA.
Yea they spending $$ left n right, i dont see them being too profitable yet.
and as for Hogan, im sure he gets paid more to be on TV then he does to be some type of a Executive in the locker room.

At the time though the Knockout division was the highest rated part of Impact pretty much every week, and she was the figurehead of the division or at least a main part of it. If the figures are accurate, IF, then why wouldnt she be be entitled to a bump in wages when guys like Tomko are on $300k.
