View Full Version : Who do you hate most and why?

As someone who semi-follows the sport of MMA I don't feel I'm qualified to really comment on people's various abilities and fighting styles. I still go into each fight with pro-wrestling sensibilities.

That qualifies me to ask this question. Who in the sport (past and current) do you hate most?

For me it's Tito Ortiz. Everything about the guy screams "douche bag" to me. His love-life, his interviews, his behavior in the octagon. I fucking hate Tito in more ways than can be justified for a rational person. I even hate his face. When I first saw him I remember thinking that he looked like a cross between an asshole and a fucking gunshot wound. I actually ejaculate a little everytime he gets punched in that arrogant anus he calls his face.

Of course he'd date a porn star. He definitely comes off like the kind of guy who'd want to stick his dick into what amounts to a human pincushion. He's the kind of guy who coined the term "sloppy seconds" in the first place.

I hate Tito with a passion that I can't justify. I think I feel about him the way non-Yankees fans feel about the Yankees. When I first got into Chuck Liddel a few years ago one of the main positives the guy had going for him was that he had raped Tito and I appreciated him for that.

Okay, I feel better. Your turn.

Tito has mellowed out a lot. I haven't heard him give a shitty interview or make douchebag comments in a while.

I'm not sure I hate any fighters now that I think about it. No one has adopted a truly heel persona with exception to Chael Sonnen, but he does it in a hilarious way.

Clay Guida

Easily the most boring fighter ever. And with every win he gets, he shits all over that division. If this guy gets the title, ill puke in my pee hole. And he should not have won the Pettis fight. He did no damage at all.

H e's horrible and I hope he catches his hair in a blender.

Really. Guida? Dude finishes damn near every fight he's in or the fight ends up winning fight of the night.

If you hate Guida then you must want to assassinate GSP.

I love the new S/N btw. It's dirty with a hint of gentleness.

What Would Kevin Do?

Yeah, Guida is generally pretty entertaining, if you ignore the Pettis lay and pray fight.

Personally, I hate Anderson Silva. Yeah, he's good, but I hate his style with a passion. His "I'm going to dance around like a prick until you attack me" is retarded.

i wasnt sure going into this thread, and when you said you watch MMA with "pro-wrestling sensibilities", i figured you must be an idiot (as a former fan of pro wrestling i dont know how anyone can even watch today's wrestling) - but to be perfectly honest, it was a good post.

and i have harbored strikingly similar feelings about Tito for quite some time. "douchebag" is precisely the word that comes to mind when i see Tito - and his [marrying? just dating?] of the world's most famous porn star is exhibit A. just seems like an 8th grade move. kinda like tacking a picture of a Lamborghini Diablo in your room. :-\

i dont care for him either, but i always give credit where it is due. HE SHUT PETIS DOWN. PERIOD. he shouldnt have won the Diaz fight, IMO. but anyway, yeah, even though he is a "buzzsaw" i still find his style boring and i dont dig his persona, which if he were a pro-wrestler would i guess be like...happy-go-lucky-babyface...i dunno, maybe it just SEEMS too much like we're SUPPOSED to adore Clay Guida. in his defense though, he works hard, trains hard, his wrestling is solid, his jiujitsu defense is solid and his striking is...improving. if he gets a title shot, it will be deserved.

I'm not a big Silva fan, but it's because I think he shows fake humility and is probably an arrogant ass in real life.

Not sure I'd call his style retarded though. The guy is undefeated and 11 of his 13 fights end in either a sub or KO in the 1st or 2nd round. It's smart fighting. I'd put an Anderson Silva fight up against any other current UFC champion in terms of entertainment value (minus Jones maybe, but he hasn't fought top tier talent actually prepared for him yet).

The ONE GUY that used to rub me the wrong way, and to be fair, it may very well and most likely had nothing to do with him - it's just that he rubbed me the wrong way, is JOSH NEER. The Dentist. full disclosure - he did beat up a couple of guys who i like. Mac Danzig for example. and i think Nate Diaz.

he just seemed like a bully - i mean he was a HUGE Lightweight who probably should have been fighting at 170. and [probably just my own warped perception] he seemed like the kind of guy who (while being a professional MMA fighter and legitimate badass,) might go looking for barfights. oh, and i hate people who have their last name tatooed across their backs.

Melvin Guillard used to be a fucking clown who talked a lot of shit that he couldnt back up. interestingly, it used to seem that if a fight went long enough, given enough time Melvin would find a way to beat himself. now he is fucking amazing. as Joe Rogan put it, it appears that the mental is catching up with the physical. i do get excited for his fights (to see him win now, not to see how he beats himself.) and you better start inoculating yourself to him because he is the future at 155. he smashed Evan Dunham ffs.

GSP. actually, i have no ill-feelings toward GSP, but, i mean c'mon. do we really wanna root for the guy who all the chicks are cheering for?

Let me clarify a little. His style is legit, but it's his retarded antics/taunting that irks me. If he wants to wait for his opponent to attack, that's fine, but he acts like a total prick about it, dancing around and taunting them, etc, and it pisses off the crowd. He can have his style, but he needs to chill with some of his "antics." That's what I find retarded, is his taunting, etc. His style isn't retarded, but it can be very boring if he's fighting someone who won't engage. So yeah, I'm not a fan of his style, but I hate his antics.

I can't hate anybody who dedicates their life to training, and has the brass balls to step into the ring/octagon/cage.

I respect each and every fighter, because I know first hand that this shit is tough.

I don't hate anyone in the UFC/Strikeforce/MMA in general.

Why?

Because first of all, I don't know any of them well enough to have something against them bad enough to hate them. Second, it makes no sense because any of them could kick my ass, so it would be stupid to "hate".

With Silva it's either a fight of the year material, or the most boring piece of shit fight ever. I don't hate on him for it though, I just hate when Silva fans act like he's the most entertaining fighter walking the planet. Silva fans are pretty annoying.

Finally! We can disagree about something other than Jon Jones/ Rashad Evans!

I think that's just blind, blatant hate on Anderson Silva. Outside of Demian Maia and Thales Leites, what fight has he not entertained in some way in?

Can you name anyone currently in the UFC who has more impressive finishes than Anderson?

Hell, I'd say his fights are never fight of the year because his opponents are usually snoring or tapping out by the 2nd round.

I try to not be too biased but watching A. silva is incredible. If it's a shit fight it's because his opponent chooses to not engage. Why should he fight outside his style or comfort level if his opponent sucks but has the advantage in one area, I don't get the hate. Silva is the greatest of all time, better than fedor.

Don't you fuckers dare take the shine away from Rashad!!! seriously, I am completely meh for AS/GSP fights. I was only interested when Sonnen stepped up, and when Hardy was the NBT. other than that, they display excellent mastery of their Martial Arts.

Anderson has the most comprehensive array of finishes, for damn sure.

I can make the same argument for every fighter he faces. If it's a "shit fight" because his opponent doesn't engage, then it's a two way street, because he doesn't engage either. You can't blame the opponent for not engaging when Silva pretty much refuses too.

But, like I said, I don't hate him for that, I hate his taunting and BS antics as he comes off like a disrespectful prick when all he's doing is trying to make his opponent come at him since he doesn't want to go at them. As far as not engaging, I don't like it, but I respect it. I understand why he fights like he does, and I don't hate him for that... Just the taunting. I know I'm not the only one, since the crowd tends to boo it too.

Oh, and I really didn't like Hendo after the Bisping fight, just because of the late punch. I know late punches happen, but his comment about "knowing he was out" seemed to be in really bad taste.

Well, I'm glad you liked it. My knowledge on MMA is sporadic. I followed it back before it was a real sport (90s) when guys like Ken Shamrock and Tank Abbott were your average badasses. You know before the weight classes and all that shit.

And, I don't see how it's possible to be a former fan. I don't tend to enjoy wrestling nearly so much these days. I liken it to the state of horror movies. I used to love horror movies. Now, I think that Hollywood has no clue how to put out a decent one. I'm not a former horror fan, just a guy with not source to satisfy his wants.

Although, I do like the Miz.

Second point first. So, I own a gun. Does that mean you'll never ever hate me since I can shoot you?

Do you not hate anyone who you've never met?
