I'm sorry. Am I the only one that's finding this utterly lame? This is the kind of stuff that's gone on Raw every week for oh, 15 years? Just sometimes PG-13, at times PG, and now the blurry line in between we've had since MITB. But now it's unsafe working habits?
And King? Who volunteered himself to get his ass kicked by Henry is walking out?
This story line is just getting dumber and dumber.

Pretty "meh" RAW tonight, on account of most everyone I really care about was used in one match.
The ending, while I liked it, took entirely too long.
Though, Triple H was probably thinking.... "So, I get RAW to myself now? SWEET! It's like 2003 all over again!"
You gotta love them jobber WWE Champion entrances.
John Cena totally "no selling" HIAC injuries and WWE title loss.
Would you like some cheese with your whine, Dave?
The employees at WWE.com should walk out too.
Which will bring Sheamus in to the picture, who will run the entire website single handed (with respect to his computer background).
The frustration will eventually build up.
He will brogue kick every computer equipment in the building and hit Joey Styles with the Celtic Cross.

I didn't like that segment that closed RAW. They made JR look like the biggest babyface in the company not named Triple H. They aren't the two guys you should be promoting to have the most character. I think it would have been more effective for some to support Triple H, and some to head to the back. Give RAW a scrambled feeling. It's Triple H against the world right now, and I don't think that's the direction this thing should be going in.

Only thing I wonder is why Henry was out there? He doesn't fear anything.
And this is exactly why. Beth Phoenix talking on behalf of the Divas also completely ruined any credibility her and Natalya's "revolution" of the division had. Also, why was Jerry Lawler there? If he was there, shouldn't he have been commentating? Wade Barrett also sounded like a complete moron talking about work environments when his claim to fame is still leading Nexus against the WWE. It kind of took a shit on the gimmicks of some of the guys involved there.
One thing I did like was Mike Chiota speaking up on behalf of the officials. The WWE has done a referee strike before, but I like that they are pissed off. Also, is everyone on the WWE really that afraid of The Miz & R-Truth?
Maybe I'm expecting too much out of the WWE; but I'm just finding it really hard to bite into this storyline like they want me to. It's far from the worse thing in the history of the company, and there are interesting ideas driving the storyline forward -- but I just think it's too...dumb right now. We just saw Stephanie McMahon on WWE TV recently. Why is she not there backing her husband? Why are rookies like Darren Young, Derrick Bateman, Percy Watson & Titus O'Neil willing to throw away huge opportunities with the WWE?
#BROKEN Hasney
10-04-2011, 08:22 AM
I didn't think it made JR look like the biggest babyface ever. He was torn between showing loyality to the man who got him his job back and doing what he felt was right. Just a person, not a character that swings in either direction.
jkman61494
10-04-2011, 09:29 AM
I also think it was completely moronic to have Wade Barrett be a talking piece for "workroom safety" and how wrestlers are afraid to go in a parking lot and how he's in the WWE to compete in a safe area etc etc etc.
Now I'm glad they at least had HHH point out the hypocrisy, but it doesn't remove the fact that it just was another example of making Barrett look stupid. THe last time he really was on Raw in a speaking role he was this cocky a-hole leading the Nexus, a group who mugged Bret Hart in a parking lot, and tried to have a hostile take over of Raw. Now he's afraid of workplace safety.
I don't know if Barrett ticked someone off in the back but they've seemingly gone out of their way to destroy the credibility and awesomeness his character once had.
Do you know what would have been cool? Him taking the mic, and spouting off about taking credit for this anarachy. That he was the first person to lead this charge and thanks to him and his group, the WWE has never been the same. He could have taken credit for it, but voted against HHH purely out of spite for the position he holds. He should vote no confidence because the WWE is finally in a place that he envisioned when he led Nexus.
Blakeamus
10-04-2011, 09:51 AM
If two guys were fired from a workplace that you are currently employed, and would go on an attack spree towards their fellow former employees...wouldn't you feel like something needs to be done before something happens to you? If your boss lost control of the situation, wouldn't you feel that it isn't a safe environment and would just consider leaving for the benefit of your health and safety?
I think this was a brilliant segment. And I find having JR as the last one was fitting and made the point across. Didn't see Barrett was made to look stupid. Triple H just called him out on facts. You should be happy it was mentioned...to me that doesn't destroy credibility, that revives it.

I didn't have a problem with Barrett's comments, since he's a heel and it kinda worked. Yes, he did lead Nexus as they destroyed anything that crossed their path last year, but of course, now he feels at risk, he doesn't think it's fair. That's classic heel characteristics right there.
However... if I recall Barrett hasn't been on Smackdown for two weeks now, and screw theories of 'testing to see if he's a company guy', I feel WWE have really dropped the ball here.
yah, quite a staggering misunderstanding of the basic concept of a heel in this thread. The Barrett thing is as simple as:
1. He's competent and articulate with a microphone, which helped sell the angle and get the main points against Triple H across
2. He's a heel, he's supposed to be contradictory and hypocritical, it's why he's a "bad guy"

Glad some people can see this. I was starting to lose faith.

BUT HE DIDNT STAND UP TO HHH AND UNIFY THE TITLES CSL!

I think it played out as planned. HHH was trying to defend himself and shoot down the complaints.
Barrett talks and HHH shoots it down.
Chioda talks and he starts to see hes at fault and tries to shoot it down but leaves a ding in his armor.
DIvas talk and he shoots it down but leaves the "What if" door opene for doubt. Hard to shoot that down.
Then King Drives it home. King is a legend. A respected man. A Face. Driving the nail in the coffin and leading everyone out. No way to defend himself there.
It was a brilliant way build it up and go both ways.
Also, anyone else realize there is no Single title held by a face?
Unless you count Ryder
Ya noticed that when the "lawsuit' union was in the ring. The tag champs are the only faces.

It happened coming out of this years Hell In A Cell PPV most recently if I remember correctly, although that was 2 days ago so my memory may be wrong.

Well, Hes now at a Red Dot. Gotta wait 24 hours before I pick this back up.
Let me know if you need some help reforming him.

I think it might have been Rosa, but Maxine has been on NXT lately.

No, I saw Rosa and she has black hair, not brown. I will take a screenshot.

Also, count me among those who enjoyed the ending of Raw. Great build to a great silent finale. You can sort of tell that WWE is making it up as they go, but no matter the writing process, they're putting out a very entertaining product right now.
Am I concerned they're burning through potential stories too fast? Sure! But that doesn't mean that what they are doing isn't great just because they aren't doing what they could be doing.

You sure that's not a mini Nicole Bass?
The best thing about the walkout has that HHH still had the fans on his side. He can stil use that to justify everything he says/does.
It would have been hilarious if the fans actually walked out.

Am I the only one that thinks this whole angle is fucking awful? Probs.

The problem with the angle is that it is centered around a 40 something semi-retired wrestler, who even in his prime, didn't draw the money required to be the top guy in the E.
I liked that it left a lot of questions and that's why I'm pumped. Want to see the follow-through, then I'll be able to give a real perspective on it. But as it stands on its own, I really liked it.

I would like it so much more if it would get someone over other than HHH.
Edit: I guess Miz and Truth are getting something out of this. I guess I mean from a face standpoint.
Edit #2: Meh, I'm over-reacting, its not that bad. The fans were pretty into it.

I really am curious if this is the reaction that the WWE expected out of the fans - siding with HHH. The whole first part of the segment seemed to be trying to paint Trips as an unsympathetic bastard who's "hearing" what his employees have to say without really "listening".
I think it could have helped to have a babyface or two (other than King - he really doesn't count) take exception to what's going on, and speak up. By having the heels do almost all the talking, and then Jerry reluctantly lead the walkout, it painted HHH in a MUCH more sympathetic light.
I guess I'm just really confused as to which side of the fence Hunter's gonna land on when all's said and done. And that's not a bad thing, that's a good thing.

Nah I like it, it kinda shows the hypocrisy of wrestling in general, fans will cheer bad stuff if the good people are doing it and boo good stuff if the bad people are doing.
And by Good and bad I don't mean in a quality sense but in a morality sense.

Take it as is since its from Ryan Clark but it looks like there might be an actual reason outside of a storyline possibility to why certain stars were not at ringside and its due to the WWE not wanting the crowd to boo their top faces.
– It was noted that during the final segment on RAW last night, names like John Cena, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Mason Ryan, Eve Torres and Kelly Kelly weren’t at ringside. Word is that WWE was expecting the fans to boo the Superstars who walked out and didn’t want certain ones getting heat from the crowd.

 Jericho's tweet
“Wow what a mess the WWE is after Raw last night! Only one man can clean it up…time to bring back Funaki.”
