I thought Ronic was copying and pasting from some ridiculous parody or something, but I googled it and all that came up was the exact same post as a comment on a blog from The Score by user Raging Ronic.

I thought Ronic was copying and pasting from some ridiculous parody or something, but I googled it and all that came up was the exact same post as a comment on a blog from The Score by user Raging Ronic.

To clear up something for you, and everyone else here, Blitz...I use both Ronic AND Ragin' Ronic as nicknames on the internet. Ronic on it's own has been MY nick online since 2000. Ragin' Ronic, used like that, indicates that I have been boiled up in anger over what I perceive to be deliberate incompetence or telling all of the truth over what I see are wrongs or slights against things I support.

The origins of the 'Ronic' name come from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. My name IRL is Ron, so, ergo, you knock the 'S' off of the word Sonic, replace it with an R, and you get Ronic. The 'on' in both my name and Sonic's name are letters that both words have in common.

I know a lot of you here are bored, but do try to keep up.

I do not hold back, I do not bullshit, and I don't support pro-U.S. spin on anything. I am a Canadian, by birth and citizenry, and I would like Canada to be the leader in economy, sport, and social trends for a few years.

And, frankly, I'd find it fun if I became the NHL Commissioner. I'd put an equal number of Canadian home teams in each division, and not heavily rely on what NBC thinks when it comes to scheduling the Cup Finals....72 hours between the last Conference Finals game and the first game of the Cup Finals would do.

And no, I don't support the thought or idea of anyone who does not have a Canadian birth certificate running the NHL...not anymore. All Gary has EVER done is force hockey down the throat of A] FOX Sports, B] ESPN-ABC, and C] NBC Sports. The U.S. TV networks are ONLY interested in NHL business when it comes to the money side of hockey, governed not by the Canadian dollar.

It stems from Gary's inability to admit that he is incompetent, and only interested in using Canadian-born players to prop up the falsified image that hockey matters in the U.S. No one really gives a shit about hockey in the U.S., and only show up on NHL TV broadcasts in the U.S. to promote their social networking initatives and their own pet projects.

And if you can't see the scam here, then you are horribly naive to the manipulative behaviour that goes on all around the National Hockey League....just politicians sucking the dick of the almighty U.S. Dollar and the dick of that wetback faggot, Gary Buttman. >8-(

Everything in the world is about money you dick. I'm really not following you that closely but what do you want to happen, move every NHL team to Canada? That's a great idea, you'll lose a huge growing audience.

Skippord

do Canadians call Americans wetbacks because they are south of them? Is that some sort of weird geographical term?

Skippord

Ronic, would you suck the cock of the almighty American dollar in order to get every NHL team to move to Canada?

RaginRonic
06-16-2012, 02:59 AM
Skippord, get over yourself, you stupid pro-U.S. sports mark...this is how I'd do it...

A] If I won the leadership of the NHL out of Buttman's hands by, say, playing for the Canadiens(as an example franchise) and being on THE Canadian home franchise to end The Drought, I, upon becoming Commissioner on the day NHL free agency opened, would order that the NHL Board of Governors dissolve operations immediately.

B] Replace the corrupt BOG with a committee consisting of former players, active broadcasters, and team boosters from the Canadian home franchises.

C] End ALL revenue sharing with the teams in the Southern U.S. that would be deliquent to the reformed financial interests of the league as a whole.

D] Strip ALL NHL teams of any territorial veto that they may have to force fans in some larger Canadian non-NHL cities to cheer teams between 1-1/2 and 2 hours drive away.

E] Award the cities of Hamilton, Ontario, Quebec City, Quebec, London, Ontario, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, AND Halifax, Nova Scotia expansion or relocated franchises at financial costs relative to their regions in Canada, forgiving some costs for smaller centres.

F] Hold a combined Entry AND ReDistribution Draft that would mandate all 12 Canadian home franchises selected no fewer than 7 pro and 5 rookie players from Canada, and that the 20 U.S. home franchises would select no fewer than 7 pro and 5 rookie players from the U.S., with remaining draft and redistribution picks be split between the U.S. and European countries.

G] Mandate that each Canadian franchise is permitted to have at least 1 high-level elite player on each team.

H] File a request with the federal government in Canada to have taxes that athletes pay here cut down to 6%, as to open up the Canadian market better to allow high-end pro athletic talent to ply their trade in Canada too.

I] Realign the NHL to 2 conferences with 16 teams each, with 4 4-team divisions in each, with the conferences renamed to Campbell and Wales, and the divisions named for both the original names(Adams, Patrick, Norris, and Smythe) and some contemporary NHL luminaries.

J] Eliminate all East V. West conference play during the regular season, only crossing the conferences over in the Cup Finals, and return playoff qualification to being decided by divisional records. Top 2 teams in each division make it to the Spring Stampede to the title, with all 3rd and 4th place teams going to the Draft Lottery.

K] Make a 78-game regular season where the All-Star Break would not happen until each team played it's 39th game by January 10, thereby condensing the season to a more reasonable length.

L] All playoff rounds would be 72 hours apart from the end of the previous round, with the exception of the Stanley Cup Finals, where they would start 96 hours after the end of the last Conference Finals game.

M] Increase fan attractions in all NHL buildings to have an All-Star Weekend-like atmosphere, year round.

N] Mandate cheerleaders in the NHL for all teams. End the stodginess of in-game entertainment.

And finally, O] Make sure the U.S. NHL home franchises thank Canada for the sport of hockey on TV, and make sure that the U.S. home franchises and media partners for the U.S. TV and radio networks cannot manipulate any info or intel they may hear somewhere.

All of the above would PERMANENTLY END the masturbation of the egos of the U.S. NHL home clubs. Which, to me, is repugnant.

Back in 2007, Spilchuk tried to convince posters that he lost his virginity at 13 years of age when in reality, he was fucked in the ass by his father at that age. t "Half-truths." It ain't lying if you aren't telling the whole truth righ?

In all likelihood, Spilchuk is dating Lanny MacDonald's cock.

Sorry Spilchuk,

I actually was starting to like you, and still sort of do I guess, but the way you talk shit about Canuck fans and paint all Canuck fans with one brush is fucking stupid. Fans like you are bad for our sport......or any sport for that matter.

I don't have anything against American teams. Just something against teams that are being artificially maintained alive. Like Phoenix. Bettman won't admit his project failed and move on to something else. I don't even care if it's Quebec City, Kansas City or Seattle. Just move on.

Agreed. I have a hard time liking the idea of Nashville, but they are a stable franchise. So I cvan give them a pass. I hate that Carolina and Tampa have cups, but they make it work. The Traditionalist in me will never forget the Whalers, but if they can hold their own I am ok.

Phoenix needs to move TODAY. Put them in any of those cities. Or somewhere in Ontario. It will work. Phoenix is never going to work.

Florida needs to go. And the Islanders. Which sucks because they are a historic franchise.

I think you have us confused, the Leafs are next door.

I developed an immunity by the end of the year. You get used to those things.

We keep visiting the basement often, since we are the same division. Thankfully, we got the second floor of the three story mansion.

Keep thinking of Leafs fans everytime I watch "The People Under The Stairs"

Honestly wonder if Gertie will have Leafs players as pall bearers. You know, so they can let him down one last time.

Nashville, I never quite understood buy they have been a solid franchise that has made themselves a respectable team people will watch.

I don't mind Carolina so much, like quite a few of their players. Tampa though, why the fuck does Florida get two teams and Quebec and Ontario only get one each?

Phoenix was the stupidest idea the NHL ever had, the country is huge and what possessed them to have an ice hockey team in the desert is way beyond me. Islanders I think would be much better if they could get quality goaltending on a regular basis and once the Yashin deal expires (next year)

They did the right thing with Atlanta, but it took them until the last minute to admit that they had failed. Think they'll try a third time in the future?

Hopefully, I would love 8 teams in Canada.

Would keep Florida since their attendance and fan support level is decent and its not like Tampa has a huge advantage unlike the vast difference between the Rangers and Islanders in New York.

Makes a lot more sense to drop or move the Islanders and Phoenix considering both keep swapping each other every year for worst supported team and Phoenix was dead last this year even though they made the playoffs.

Islanders need a new rink in a new location. They have a decent fan base and an up and coming team. They can work given the right venue.

3 years go Nashville was sold to Basille.... remember. But the NHL stepped in and put a halt to tht. Nashville is only finally starting to work. I hope they do continue to work out, but time will tell.

Somehow the Kings lost the championship puck with nobody knowing where it is and apparently it got lost around the time of the celebratory team handshake. The Devils are currently denying they have the puck although its assumed Patrik Elias actually has the puck.

Tim Thomas waves his no trade clause which could allow the Bruins to trade him for a draft pick or more since he wants to take a year off and gives the team a way to potentially avoid having Thomas's guaranteed salary eat up cap space for next season.

I grew up with the Pens being my favorite team, and formally - although all my hockey heros are long gone (Lemieux, Francis, Jagr, Coffey) - the Pens retain the formal title of "favorite team", but I can't help but be a little dissapointed, lol.

Would have loved to see Crosby say, "listen, I've given the Pens the start of my career, but I grew up dreaming of playing for the Habs - that's where I'm going."

Fuuuuucking Sabres.

Got me worried. They have money to spend, and in a weak market are going to do something stupid. I just feel it.

They are in a weird spot. Were heavy favorites last year, shit hit the fan, and now they are stuck between blow it up rise it out.

Seems as though Grigorenko is going to be on the team this year. But where does he play? Unless they move Ennis back to wing he is going to be the 4th line center.

Roy
Ennis
Hodgson
Grigorenko

Not alot of Defense of Size up the middle...

So does he go to the wing to start like Seguin? As it stands buffalo is wing heavy. Seems like a few lines are locked up unless they can unload Roy, which I pray for everyday.

Buffalo is close. I can see them surprising people next year. It shoudn't be a surprise, ecause they were expected to be a top team last year but failed to deliver. If they deliver this year (early) they'll be where they were thought to be last year.

Hanso Amore

The team is just in a weird Transition almost. They Traded Gaustad who has worn an A for years. They are trying to trade Roy who is in the same boat.

Obviously this all goes back to July 1 2007 - The worst day in Buffalo ever. Losing Drury and Briere was the end of it all. Darcy had to panic and start handing out contracts to the "Young Core" - Then Edmonton the assholes had to go an Offer Sheet Vanek. So Vanek got 50 million, then Darcy panicked and handed out contracts to Roy, Gaustad, Pomminville, Hecht, Stafford Twice Etc.

but Hecht is UFA, and with Roy on his way out, and Goose gone, they are breaking up that core. Almost like starting over, but not. Vanek and Pommers will stay and I like that. But its like they are ready to reload with Ennis, Hodgson, Myers, Foligno (who might crack the top 6 this year) and more.

Sabres have some real upside in young talent. But if they want to push them into the NHL its almost a rebuilding mode.

This year should see Foligno spend the year in the NHL, Brayden McNabb SHOULD be o nthe roster, he is ready. Corey tropp should also make it to the NHL this year. Nice 4th liner.

Add in Grigs and this a young team. Really only older vets would be Regehr and Leopold.

I believe the market on Dmen is out of balance right now. like I said

It would appear Mr. Weber is to be a RFA at the end of this contract. Well now, that could put Nashville in a dilly of a pickle capwise..wait a second. They have the least amount committed and likely will offer him an obscene amount of money for his services.

Potential for the discussions involving the new CBA to get ugly soon since the owners laid down the hammer in their first proposal.

Some of the demands include:
* 19% decrease in the player's side of revenue sharing which drops their overall amount from the current 57% to the proposed 46% for the players-owners split.
* Contracts no longer than 5 years anymore.
* Players must earn 10 years of career time before they can apply for unrestricted free agent status regardless of their age.
* No more signing bonuses
* No more scaled yearly salaries where the back-end is more wealthy than the front-end.

Union already said they will be willing to play into part of next season without a CBA while the owners made no guarantees.

Isn't he a RFA? That means Nashville can still match the offer and keep him if they wanted to.

But since it's Philadelphia we're talking about, the draft picks would suck anyway because they always end up near the top. I think that four draft picks that end up being 20th or over could be worth it for Weber.

Either way, Nashville could get screwed imo. They'll have Weber eating up cap space for 14 years, assuming they don't trade him, if they match. Plus, if the next four years are weak draft class's, they are screwed there too.

Bettman says NHL will lock out players if no new CBA deal in place by Sept. 15

Thirty-seven days.

That's how much time remains for the NHL and its players' association to bridge a wide gap in collective bargaining negotiations or face another lockout.

Commissioner Gary Bettman made it clear during Thursday's bargaining session in New York that the league is prepared to lock out its players when the current agreement expires Sept. 15.

No matter how much money the players end up keeping, I really hope that the NHL will successfully include the 5 year limit on contracts.

No more of these grand 15 year deals that are front loaded in order to circumvent the cap hit. Whatever the player is earning in a given season, must be the cap hit for that given season.

I do hope that the cap is successfully lowered. It's crazy how much the cap ceiling has increased since it first came into effect.

Hopefully the NHL can avoid losing another season. If it happens again, can we expect a lockout every time the CBA ends? :(

Absolutely can't stand Fehr as part of the NHLPA. Dislike his background with the MLB (and the '94 strike), and with his brother getting to simply jump in as the #2 man - just seems wrong to me.

Never imagined that I'd ever find someone involved with my beloved NHL to dislike more than Buttman, but that man is Donald Fehr. :foc:

In about an hour from now, the NHL will officially start its lockout since the first attempt by the players to have it broken in the courts failed.

The NHLPA wanted an extension to prevent the deadline from occurring while the courts said no for now but will officially considering hearing the case at a later date.

The owners are happy it failed but at the same time are pissed since they didn't plan on the players finding an actual Canadian law that could end the lockout quickly before the owners are able to capitalize on a desperate union for more concessions.

From what I understand, the owners learned nothing from the last lockout just like the NBA owners. Still giving out horrible contracts and complaining about the salary caps or tax fees even though they are making more money this time than before the last lockout.

The union itself isn't as stubborn but also not as aggressive in getting a deal done since they know they can play in other leagues in Europe if the season is cancelled.

The CBA is almost the same as the one used by the NBA although the main difference is Stern is a lot stronger than Betterman and the caps being a joke since big market teams just ignore them.

They'd be really stupid not to although he's right in a way since the owners lied a lot about loosing money when the league has made billions since the last lockout. I think it was because their recent CBA was more about stuff regarding the owners side of the league like luxury taxes and playoffs than the other leagues where the biggest reason was to mainly reduce player revenue percentages.

Only the NFL managed to come up with something nice in that whatever the players lost as a percentage, it went to pensions and health insurance costs. Players gave up money now for the guarantee of better pensions while the owners didn't just pocket it like the NBA and NHL want.

I know the Falcons are undefeated, but i couldnt tell you who's leading the division or who has the most stats. I know where the Colts stand and thats about it. I just dont get into it like i used to. Not sure why. I used to get hyped for Sunday and Monday night games no matter who played.

Hockey however, was just really peaking my interest. And now this shit.

Is it maybe because the Colts are not dominant like they used to be? Or sports is really just pissing you off that much with the business side of it? And yeah, this hockey lockout sucks. Games canceled up to Nov. 1st now

No i'm still a huge Colts fan. Going to the game this week. I just dont get into football Sunday much anymore. I have the sunday ticket. I like it, but i find myself getting bored watching other teams. I dont have the interest i once did. Maybe i'll get it back. I dunno. Focusing on other things anyways so... Really miss hockey tho. I miss seeing Kaner and Toews skate the ice.

NHL announced the next two weeks worth of games now canned and new earliest date possible is November 1st for a season.

Also hinted the next cut will be a lot larger than 2 weeks and the cut follow that potentially kills off the Winter Classic. Next cut occurs in a week if no new deal is done.

According to the NHLPA, the owners appeared to have pulled back the 50-50 offer which is why everything stalled right now.

Yeup they will move in and share the building the Nets in the NBA are going to use in Brooklyn.

Team has no plans of extended the lease at Long Island but also agreed to let it run out before the move which is why its planned for 2015. Also won't be changing the logo or team name once they move to Brooklyn.

NHL already playing its hand for what the punishments will be once today's deadline passes by saying the 50-50 proposal and other offers will be pulled and won't be coming back.

Probably won't be until the weekend for earliest announcement of the next set of season games getting killed off. Winter Classic won't be canned this time but very likely its in the next set of games and by the point probably no hopes of a season at all.

I'd really like to see a serious fan backlash against the NHLPA and NHL once hockey resumes. Fehr destroyed baseball in '94, he will leave his mark on our beloved NHL as well.

I haven't cared about baseball for the last 10 years, but with the Jays recent roster improvements, I'm pretty much ready to jump on the baseball band wagon and forget about hockey for a while (but I'm sure I'll tune in to HNIC to see Ron & Grapes - at least for their initial broadcast during the 60th year of HNIC).

When hockey finally resumes, if the NHL prints a large, stupid message across the neutral zone again (like "Thank you Fans"), I will cringe. Would love to see some tumble weeds blowing across arena seating. The league and players take the fans for granted, while happily taking all our hard earned cash. I hate to say it, but it's time to say "no" to professional (business) hockey... for a while, not forever :p.
