John Cena, he carried the damn company for how many years? Really excited to see all the reasons people don't vote for him.

My personal standpoint is that I haven't enjoyed him in the ring other than pre face turn and very recently, wheras I have been a fan of Zigglers work since the start.

Gotta go with Ziggler.

Regardless of his status and accomplishments, Cena bores me to tears in the ring and annoys me to no end on the mic.
Ziggler is an excellent worker and seems to be continuously improving. Watching him rip Morrison apart right now only solidifies my vote.

I love Ziggler, and have no problem with him winning this round, but I voted Cena.

Yes, Cena's spiel gets old and boring, but that's the writers, remember. Cena has proven many times over that he can work, he can cut promos when they're childish, and basically he's been the #1 for most of the last decade.

Dolph is incredible, and in a couple of years time I may have a different answer, but right now I gotta give my props to Cena.

I love Dolph Ziggler. He's incredible.

That being said, Cena has this intangible factor that makes certain situations feel truly special. Think about the match with Rob Van Dam at One Night Stand. That will never happen again, and if it weren't for Cena, it wouldn't have even been close to the same. Think about this year's Money in the Bank. Punk was awesome, but if he weren't up against Cena, it simply would not have felt the same.

As much as I really like a bunch of other guys on the roster, Cena's become an entity that none of them are right now. I realize that the reason for it is because he was continually shoved down our throats and people just got sick of him to the point where they were foaming at the mouth for change, but hey, it's working. He's a truly unique talent, and in those huge situations that only he can be a part of, he fucking delivers. Every time. I vote for Cena.

The amount of time and work Cena puts in is phenomenal, but have never been a fan of his style of work, and obviously his whole persona is not directed towards me.

Really enjoy Ziggler as an athlete and the way he works just appeals to me as more natural in the ring. Maybe potential should not play a part as it is unfulfilled right now, but as a worker I enjoy Ziggler more right now from a wrestling standpoint.

No doubt, Cena can work, but as a style that regularly appeals to the eye in matches, it is Ziggler for me.

Really have to love how the icon of this era is losing to a mid carder. John Cena puts butts in the seats, he carried the company, he has multiple 5 star matches, and even with all this he is losing because of the writers giving him a shitty character.

Lets put it like this, if Miz and Dolph were in the Wrestlemania main event, would it have been such a big deal? If CM Punk were to go against Dolph, would it have been such a big deal? Yes Dolph is good, but John Cena is the man. This is like saying Hulk Hogan was not as good as Earthquake, or Ken Shamrock was better than Austin, or Rhyno was better than The Rock.

For the last time: actual wrestling ability is like one quarter of a successful wrestler:

1. Mic Skills
2. Drawing Power
3. Titles
4. Wrestling Ability

This should be the criteria for this topic, but you tards are basing this on who can fake wrestler better.

So why don't we just set a criteria and each week, Supreme can announce the winner after doing the research and forgo the poll?

I'm basing this one off the fact that after a couple of months of him being traded to Raw, I stopped watching PPV main events he was part of because it was predictable (HUGE HEEL THREAT DOMINATE MATCH, Cena overcomes the odds with the 5 moves of doom) and eventually, switched off WWE entirely because his promos were formulaic as well as his matches. It was same shit day in day out and other than the Edge/RVD moments, he's not been interesting until now. I couldn't give 2 shits as to how much he's drawn for other people if there was any tangible evidence to back that up. I switched off so that's what I'm basing it on.

None of that's his fault, because on Smackdown and now more recently, he's been allowed to actually wrestle matches. I'm still a little turned off when he gets the mic, but that's the same with every goody two shoes face for me, he's just got the added bonus of some of his jokes making me cringe.

Also, Ziggler hasn't proven that he can get over without Vickie

This thread series isn't called "Better Technician". There's more to a wrestler than wrestling, and I think we all know that.

For the last time: actual wrestling ability is like one quarter of a successful wrestler:

1. Mic Skills
2. Drawing Power
3. Titles
4. Wrestling Ability

This should be the criteria for this topic, but you tards are basing this on who can fake wrestler better.

Most of the stuff people are voting for Cena for doesnt matter either though

Who cares if Cena can shill more Hustle, Loyalty, blah blah t-shirts to toddlers or how many meaningless titles he won for fake wrestling.

Also mic skills is poor too, way too many "hurr hurr The Miz is gay" and "The Rock is a poo head" promos

John Cena can dish out a good promo when he really goes after it.

He can also dish out a good match.

Cena has the best mic skills in the business. It's his character that he has to stay within the realm of.

But how many times has he "really gone for it" since hes been a top guy, he clearly needs to be pushed by a better wrestler, its almost as if he feels threatened....look at the stuff w/ The Rock, he did some great stuff there but the rest of the yr hes in cruise control

Thats defending him using a bunch of ifs and buts though, I could make a case for Ziggler being as big as Cena if hed had the same 6/7yr push Cenas had, but he hasnt had that chance

I didn't use an if or a but at all. I'm saying that Cena has to cut promos within the realm of his character. For instance, it wouldn't make any sense for The Undertaker to come out and start making fun of his opponents. Not to say that he CAN'T do it, but it would make no sense for the character.

When Cena was the 'rapper', his promos were amazing. He still cuts great promos, but his character is just more kid-friendly. My little cousin thinks he's hilarious. He's working within his bounds, and I think a lot of his work gets shit on just because of the push he has received.

It does matter! It means his character is over and the company has faith in him. It's a business.

If I didn't love Dolph Ziggler, I'd be furious right about now. However, I do.

I am going to be anti-Ziggler during this whole run because I still do not think he should have beaten the Miz.

I think Ziggler is very good, but I am still upset by the previous match-up.

Yup... Cena is better, carried the WWE on his back for years, but I cheated...

Before it's all said and done Cena will win way more titles than any wrestler in history, whether we like it or not.
