View Full Version : Official Survivor Series 2011 Thread #manhattanscrewjob
Eve got a new theme(?). Hated the old one.
BTW, I'm doing the whole St Jimmy Play-by-Play (AKA making the ROH thread look more popular than it is) thing.
When is Kharma back? Beth/Natalya v [insert opponent here] is getting as tired as Kelly Kelly v Bella Twin. i is s pretty boring now
Well DAMN, Rock made me laugh. And it wasn't by using his stupid kiddy voice to taunt Cena. Turns out self-deprication is funny.
"Boots to Asses" kinda sucks as a slogan.

According to Wikipedia, she took a year off starting at the end of May.
LOL "Lady Parts" chant.
Now that I can get behind.

Dayum!! Was it only May that she left?
CODY GOT KNEE PADS!?!
Did anybody mention that? :shifty:
Gotta think Sin Cara is done. How did he even fuck that up?
Mason Ryan was a soccer player? At his size? Maybe before he bulked up?
Or maybe this is a work of fiction like Barrett's bare-knuckle boxing past.
"Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes are the SOLE Survivors."
Say what?
Love the way ADR says "listened".

"Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes are the SOLE Survivors."
Say what?
The term the way WWE uses it defines it as the participants of a 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series match; thus as both Rhodes and Barrett were not eliminated and ended up winning, they're both sole survivors. I admit, it can be kind of confusing since they used the plural after a word which sounds like it should be restricted to singular usage, but hopefully I've helped to clarify for you.
Oh, I understand how it is used. It's just bullshit.
Like this Survivor Series being the 25th Anniversary when in fact it is the 25th installment.
If they use something incorrectly, it's still incorrect.
Gotta say, Show's Savage Elbow Drop is better than Punk's.

I did. :)
CODY'S WEARING KNEE PADS!
A lot of people did. Hence the :shifty:.
Cole sniggering during The Fink's intro of Punk. Yeah the guy stumbled a little but fuck, the man has been out of the game for a while now.
I get that Cole is supposed to be a jerk but his laughing ruined the moment a little for me.
I noticed Fink got tripped up, and I think it was because he was waiting for Punk's music to kick in but it didn't until after the intro.

I thought as much after posting my reply, but then I couldn't be bothered deleting my post.
But still, Cody suited knee pads. It made him look more "professional" and less naked.
Totally makes WWE '12 outdated though.
DLC for Cody w/ Knee Pads. 450 Microsoft Points. :shifty:

Purposely done for future DLC.

True, but when has that ever stopped them from saying/claiming whatever the fuck they want, whenever they want?

im guessing his knee or whatever went out when he braced himself to jump over the ropes. if u watch it he basically just falls over the ropes and surprisingly doesnt fall to his death, lol
You may be right on the money there.
Couldn't work out how he didn't make it over the top and figured the injury came on the landing. Explains a lot if the leg went before the jump.
:y:

I'm all too familiar with the concept. Wrestling is built on a web of embelishment, deceit and outright lies after all.
Still, it's amusing to point out their bullshit.
The exchange between Rock and Truth was excellent.

Every time Sin Cara has worn white he's been carried away on a stretcher.
I did consider saying that white is his unlucky colour.

Listening to Observer Radio talking about this PPV, and they're saying they were underwhelmed with it? What fucking PPV were they watching? Usually they're pretty dead on, but I have no idea what is going on here.
This PPV was awesome. They're bitching about Henry/Show being terrible except for the HBK/Savage spot that Show did.
Show and Henry WRESTLED. That was the best Big Man match since that one off between Show and Kane on Raw.

I mean, I don't like Big Show and I don't like Henry - but they had a FANTASTIC fucking match. Also, bitching about the DQ Finish? It makes sense. A GIANT JUST NAILED YOU WITH A SAVAGE ELBOW. I'm going to get DQ's to save my belt and get the hell out of here.

Talking about Del Rio vs. Punk "Nothing to write home about. It was a wrestling match on PPV for a title"... WHAT FUCKING MATCH DID YOU WATCH?!

He looked scared to death when he was on that rope, but it came off AWESOME. MSG moment for sure.

He did play football for Porthmadog (or Tremadog as Cole said) for a bit til he got injured. it's no work.

Yeah, he looked worried, I was scared that he was going to lose balance and fall off.

Yeah he was nervous putting that last foot up there.

Fink still announces house shows sometimes and FCW events
Part of Rock's post-PPV speech. Not my video but pretty much where I was sitting.

Ya know what? All this criticism from the WWE locker room on The Rock is bullshit. And coming from guys like Punk and Cena? Now that is something that should be said, "come on" to. The Rock paid his dues, and worked his ass off for years to keep the business thriving and ultimately helping the WWE reach unprecedented heights.
All of this hot garbage about how The Rock is never there, this and that, although valid, is not a good argument. That's all they've got. And you know why that's all they've got? Because The Rock comes back, outperforms, out wrestles, and electrifies more in one night than anyone on the current roster does in a lifetime. Guys like Punk and Cena have jobs because of people like The Rock. How about a "Thank you Rock, because of you I get to apply my skills in the craft that is professional wrestling. I get to live my dream." You're fucking welcome. The Rock doesn't have to be there night in and night out. He did that, and he did that when it wasn't a world of social networking and it took personality AND wrestling prowess to really get over. I could go on and on.
On a side note, I am a Punk fan, he's a brilliant performer. His physique is pretty unimpressive, but that's part of his allure. His criticisms of The Rock are my only problems.
Biased or not, this is my opinion.

I agree.
I don't think there's a bigger Rock mark out there that would love to see him come back full time more than me, but I don't feel like he owes me, the fans, the locker room, or anyone else anything.
The idea that he doesn't love the fans or the business is just absurd. Rock worked his ass off and sacrificed his body, energy and personal time for years, just like the rest of the guys and doesn't owe anyone anything.
Any of the guys in the locker room, after being incredibly successful in wrestling and given the opportunity, say that they wouldn't leave wrestling for a movie career, in order to have a good retirement, both health/physically and money wise, is either full of shit and lying, or just an idiot.
Who cares if he doesn't speak to everyone in the hall/locker room? If he hasn't worked with you or close to you in the past and won't be working with you currently or in the near future, I wouldn't expect to be introduced to him, let alone anything else from him.
Also, which is it? Is the Rock disrespectful and wrong for returning and taking away from other young guys time, exposure, etc, or is Rock disrespectful and wrong for only coming back on a limited schedule when he has the time, to work to make the most for the company, business and fans?
Sounds like a bunch of bitterness and jealousy to me.
All those trampoline jumps probably wore Sin Cara's knee out.
