Been playing the leaked copy offline the past couple days. Love the new custom class system, so many possibilities and you never feel restricted. Ive been going against veteran bots, learning the new maps.

Pointstreaks are cool, and unlike MW3, i actually feel accomplished when I get them (the Warthog and Escort Drone streaks are beastly).

Also enjoy the ability to add the attachment of fire rate. It really turns those semi-auto rifles into monsters.

Couple thoughts:

1) Pointstreak system is great. You get points towards your streak for everything, like destroying equipment. The best thing is you get 10 points every time someone kills the opposing team when your UAV is up.

2) the Guardian UV ray thingy rocks. 10 points every second that someone is stunned by it, 75 points for assisted kills with it, and it causes damage while theyre trapped in the ray.

This game is definitely going to allow everyone to contribute and gain high streaks

Not really, because dying still resets your streak, and the distance between streaks is pretty balanced. I've purposely camped an entire match using nothing but assist-type streaks to see how high i'd get in the totem poll, an never got close to dogs, VTOL, or a swarm (though i did get a swarm in a care package, which kicked ass).

When I play a game of CoD that says they're promoting balance towards team players, I honestly look at how it would apply to Roxer, and I really think this game does a good job of rewarding those who choose a UAV, a riot shield, etc.

Treyarch released a big list of all the things that will be ban-able offenses once Black Ops 2 arrives.

The majority are under the 24-48 hour bans while being offensive or using mods will get you banned from the streaming feature.

So apparently Activision or whoever they had in charge of the physical PC copies sort of screwed up a bit during production since some Disc 2s are actually the second disc used for Mass Effect 2.

Valve fixed the problem quickly for anyone who installs the game on Steam by transferring the game as a full digital copy once the cd key is activated.

About the Mass Effect 2 fuck up.

Your thoughts on Blops 2 is your thoughts. Personally I rather you play the game it being a series you're linked with for so long, and taking opinions of people only go so far. It was only after playing Halo 4 with somebody in the know that your thoughts on it changed rather dramatically in the last few days.

Now it may seem crazy that I of all people am telling you to try the thing, but the bigger message is to be your own consumer. I play games that people don't care for, but I play them, and I can defend or vilify them from a position of authority. Make sure your reasons are not paper thin. The new class system that's already been explained in here. Everything in your loadout, from weapons to attachments to grenades to perks, has a value of 1 point. You're allowed 10 points in your loadout. So if you wanna sacrifice say, your tactical grenades for a weapon with two attachments, you can.

There are some restrictions on it (you can't just choose like 9 perks and a weapon or anything like that), but on the whole it feels like it will be a nice way to come up with some unique classes.

I can't say too much about loadouts yet since I've only just started playing and have next to nothing unlocked. But it's definitely got me thinking about what I'll be doing for my ghost class.

Haven't played all the maps yet, but all the ones I have played seem to have at least a couple of decent snipe spots. One map, I think it's called Turbine, is pretty pure sniping. Big canyon with lots of rockiness. Some really long sightlines.

I fucking love this game so far. After a VERY rough start my K/D is up to a 1.09 and I have fallen in love with whichever shotgun they give you to start out with. The loadout system is fantastic, and all of the maps are good after a first impression.

Few more observations.

-UAV/mini-map reading is huge in this game. Or at least it will be for a little bit. Ghost isn't unlocked until level 55, and it takes a bit of time to unlock silencers, so when a UAV goes up or you fire a shot, you're gonna be a target.
-Haven't found a gun yet that's working for me on the level of, say, the PP90M, but there's a few good ones so far. Like Miotch mentioned, the initial pump action shotty is pretty beast, the MTAR is a nice rifle, and the Vector is a nice smg. Definitely gonna be doing more work with LMGs soon.
-Maps are nice. Fangel will hate this but the I've only played one that feels like a pure sniper map. Most of them have a pretty good collection of different engagement types, IE long sightlines, close quarters, sniper perches, etc.. Favourite map at this point is probably Hijacked. Reminds me a bit of Wetwork from COD4.
-Campaign has been fun so far. Only did a few missions, but they were cool. Taking out helicopters with a stinger while riding around on horseback feels uniquely Call of Duty.
-Pointstreaks feel pretty balanced for the most part. Haven't seen any high level ones yet though.

So yeah. Enjoying it thus far.

No, It resets the flags and you switch what your initial spawns are (Ie, the team that spawned by the A flag at the start, will spawn by the C flag when the round starts) but the score is the same as it was when time ran out in the first round. Basically the game restarts, but with whatever the score was before "halftime"

It's annoying, and ruins the flow of the mode.

Once all 55 levels are completed, the player is able to prestige. The player will not be able to unlock every weapon, perk and equipment at level 55, it is now required to prestige to unlock everything. Weapon XP and unlocks do not reset after prestiging. They dont mean that you wont get access to all equipment until certain prestige is met, they mean that you wont be given enough unlock tokens to unlock EVERYTHING during the first go arounds.

Before, you never really worried about what you want to unlock during your rank up because in the end, you knew they would give you enough to have everything by level 55 (or whatever cap the game had)

Fallen Angel, I've noticed something about you so I have some advice.

When a game you're interested in is announced, follow it. Every preview, video, and hands-on article, you read. I suggest Kotaku, Demonoid, even IGN. Most games have a few major articles written every once and a while as publishers spread out news as some kind of marketing plan whatever.

This way you won't be in the dark when a game drops, giving you risk of blowing 60 bones on something that isn't what you thought. Be an informed consumer and you will create your own value (or something rather).

My problem is normally I am not interested in a game until just before release unless I have been following the series for awhile (GTA, Bioshock, etc) I had absolutely no interest whatsoever in purchasing Halo up until a week before release because I never liked multiplayer Halo (The cousin we played with always kicked my ass)

A few people I know and a few on here were getting it and had only good things to say, I purchased it and I am satisfied completely now that I've gotten used to it. However I am comparing this to Halo 2, so I wasn't aware of the absence of dual wield and SMGS

So i prestiged. Still kinda hard to figure out. It locks up my guns, streaks, etc, but when i do hit the level to unlock the gun, i get all my attachments i unlocked already with it.

I also used my 1 'permanent unlock' on my FAL, which seems to not just unlock the gun and attachments from the get go, but i think it gave me all the attachments for it (even those i didnt unlock before).

In other news i went from lvl 1 to 20 in like 5 games. I'm sorta a beast in this.

I was getting annoyed seeing guys who had prestiged already after the game had been out for 2 days but it does rank up very quickly. Still, they're gaylords. Kill Confirmed is points galore.

I suggest, if one decides to prestige, to use your perma unlock on something very high level such as the Ghost perk. Using it on my best weapon was smart, but using it on something valuable and high level is smarter.

My favourite thing is the weapons. I think there's a lot of good stuff in there, good variety. No weapon class is useless, not even pistols.

The perk systems feels vastly scaled back in this game. Only a few seem very necessary. Much more of a focus on guns, equipment, and attachments.

Think when MW2 was out I was going to compile a map album of best places to put them.

Most don't remember to react to them in time I found, If anyone was heading my way id toss a smoke grenade at my bettie and hope.

With Claymores however, you need them to walk in front which is why I preferred betties as they are deadly in every direction.

This game is ridiculous about revenge spawning, and you will have people spawning behind you often.

At least it's that way in Kill Confirmed.

One thing I have never quite understood about CoD is getting spawnkilled on the largest map.

I mean seriously, spawning 20' from your body on a map that takes a good minute or two to run around is just annoying as shit.

Having said that, I really wish they would include the compass again as referring locations to someone not familiar with the map grid is pointless.

I have been killed most by the mp7 and starter shotgun. Some of the strongest guns are available from the get go...it's the speciality ones that tend to unlock later(semi autos and burst fires )

Ghost is a must have. Definitely using my unlock token on it when I prestige. Though the AN94 is a nice rifle which I will miss until I hit 55 again.

Also I dunno if pistols are better in this game or if I've just gotten better with them myself, but I've been getting tons of kills with them. Dig it.

They aren't that complicated, just have all your troops focus on one objective at a time and stay in first person mode. The only one that's kinda annoying is the escort one where all you have is quad rotors and ADS's.

I've been playing this loads in the past week in lieu of doing any work. It's a good game but frustrating as fuck trying to get a decent run of multiplayer games. I didn't get MW3 but the lag compensation in Black Ops was broken and ultimately ruined the game for me. Similar thing here, the lag compensation is absolutely fucked. I've only played this, BO and MW2. I figured out to have a decent game in MW2 I needed to wire up my connection and if you were host, you'd murder everyone. It's gone the other way now, if you're host then you're basically fucked.

I back out of games if I see I'm being fucked over. I know they have this system now for banning people who quit, but I'm not hanging around the game to be minced by people with shitty connections. I've changed my search preferences now to only games with the best connections, which hopefully will help.

In terms of the game itself, the maps are really strange. There's no real bottlenecks anywhere like you usually get, so everyone is all over the map and it's really hard to build up streaks. I don't think I've seen anyone get a high streak not via care package. I suppose it's good for all those people who whined about campers but it's a bit annoying being stopped in your tracks repeatedly by people spawning in weird places or people randomly coming out from behind one of the endless corners.

Low streaks is where it's at. I run UAV, Hunter Killer, Care Package exclusively. Easy to get multiple times per match, and care package gives me the chance for a higher level reward. Better still if you're running with Hardline and Engineer.

If you land a Sentry gun or stealth chopper, you can hide and ride those towards other streaks for DAYS! (not literally, but its a long time).

I use UAV, Care Package and Sentry Gun. I have Ghost on so fuck those other pricks who won't shoot down UAVs, I did it for long enough but I'm happier to get the hop on the other team when they have their UAV up.

I am a bit dismayed at the lack of snow levels.

Just had a game there where I had full green bars and running with a strong connection speed where I nicked an opponent's Death Machine then didn't kill a single person with it despite hitting them. Got out-gunned every time. Backed out. Game's broken.

The absolute worst thing is, I really really enjoy the gameplay but miss the gun choice/customization that classes have in CoD.

Like I understand what type of game Halo is in comparison to CoD in terms of shooters and how it revolves around pickups more then preplanned classes.
