I still remember the pre-show for St. Valentine's Massacre after Viscera had debuted in the Ministry.
He was running in the ropes to squash an opponent when his pants fell down. The announcers no sold it and pretended Viscera was a serious monster.

I'm starting to buy into the Cena heel turn idea. The past 2 weeks have been very different kind of promos from Cena. I don't know if it is just them recognizing that 95% of the crowd in these towns (and especially at WM) will boo the ever loving fuck out of him and so he is playing heel for the purposes of this feud.
The crowd tonight was good initially, but then it just turned into dipshit smarks hollering and stuff. Seriously, why the fuck would you cheer CM Punk during that closing segment? I'm very interested to see the crowd reaction at WrestleMania for Punk/Taker. Punk is struggling to get boo'd now and he is an amazing fucking heel. Is he close to where Triple H got to where he could beat the shit out of a crippled child with a sledgehammer and still get cheered?

The folks cheering for heel Punk were dip shits.
I do feel like Punk is getting to that point, where he's such an incredible heel, folks are beginning to like him for that, and I'm guilty of it as well. He is incredible as a heel. Punk going away for a while and coming back as a surprise face against a heel Cena would be awesome I think. Only if Punk didn't really change his personality/character too much though and he didn't play the goofy face character.

I feel like Cena just winning at WrestleMania, even though the Cena haters already got their way last year so evening things up for the Cena fans seems the way to go, is not as much of a lock as people make it out to be and something else big is gonna happen. It just seems like the crowd is gonna be so pro Rock, WWE is gonna be hesitant to pull the trigger on putting Cena over him.

Punk is such a heel, but he's so fucking good that people will cheer him anyway. I'm so interested in hearing the crowd for The Undertaker vs. Punk. I have a feeling that the "big reveal" Vince has promised might end up being some sort of stipulation that makes CM Punk shit himself on SmackDown. I was thinking last night that even though Punk has been such a bad guy that there is absolutely no way the face should lose this match, Punk has been in such good form and used such a good strategy against Undertaker that he almost deserves to win. You could have CM Punk defeat The Undertaker and then announce on RAW that he's leaving because there is nothing left for him to conquer in WWE. Cue his return a few months later in time for Payback, where he would presumably return to a massive pop.
Mr. Nerfect
04-02-2013, 03:00 AM
I'm also interested in hearing the crowd for Triple H vs. Lesnar. Brock is also such a heel, but the WrestleMania crowd can be quite smarky. They might just mark out for Brock being there. Could you imagine the crowd turning on Triple H in what might be his last match?

Random thoughts time:
1) As Zeb was beating Del Rio with the broken crutch I was saying "Be careful you don't accidentally cut him open like Bob Holly did RVD."
2) Does anyone else think that we might get swerved in the HHH/Lesnar match and Lesnar wins? I could see it happening and Heyman come out on Raw and say something like "Oh, you thought I meant your WRESTLING career? No, no, no - Ladies and gentlemen allow me to introduce the new COO of WWE - Brrrock Lesnar!"
3) I really wish Dutch had been allowed to get in a bit of "real" offense in his match, but I understand that it wouldn't have made much sense storywise. Hopefully down the road he'll have a chance to get "dirty", maybe even this Sunday.

I still think it makes NO sense for Paul Heyman not to have put some sort of reward for himself on the line. Heyman could have very easily have had Triple H put his status as Chief Operating Officer on the line. The only way I've been able to kayfabe rationalise this in my head is that control of the WWE would piss off investors and they would just fire Heyman because he didn't own majority shares and Heyman can't force Vince McMahon to put his stock on the line.
This feud probably should have had Vince McMahon more heavily involved, though, since Brock did F-5 him.

Michael and Daniel Moody, sons of the late Paul Bearer, were not pleased with CM Punk and Paul Heyman's antics on RAW, with Heyman dressing up like Paul Bearer and CM Punk dumping ashes (implied to be those of Paul Bearer) on The Undertaker. Michael posted the following message on Facebook last night explaining what they were told in advance would happen on the show:
"If anyone is wondering, yes WWE did come to us wanting approval for tonight's storyline. The way it was presented to us was ok. Seeing it on screen was a different story. I don't even know what to say."
Michael's brother Daniel agreed that what went down on RAW was "Totally different" from what his family was told would occur on television.

The initial reaction by the crowd even shows how "whoaaaa now" that was. It is a shame the twats decided to cheer CM Punk because their cool and ruin the moment anyway.
I wonder how they could have misrepresented what they were going to do to his sons. Did they leave out that Heyman would dress as Paul Bearer? I can easily seeing it be a deal where on paper it seems OK, but once it became a reality it was far too much far too soon for his sons. I couldn't have handled any of the things WWE has done if I were in their situation.

Obviously it is apples and oranges, but other than the initial shock from "OHHHHH YESSS!" and things, I didn't think it was anything more potentially offensive than what they've done lately. Either you are o.k. with them using Paul Bearer's death or you aren't.

Courtesy of prowrestling.net, the following is a text message that was sent from William Moody's son Michael to WWE regarding his posting on Facebook last night:
"Hey. I woke up in time to watch the tail end of the show. What you explained would happen happened. Which is fine. Just it was a little difficult to watch it play out. I put a message on Facebook last night saying that we approved it but it wasn't what I envisioned. That I didn't have anything to say. The more likely real-world reason that this isn't happening probably stems from what happened a few years ago when Donald Trump "bought" Raw - investors demanded to know what was going on to the point that the FTC started an investigation.

Come on. Seriously? What do you want - for everyone to just blindly react to every situation in the exact way that the WWE has intended, paying no attention to their own personal opinions, dislikes and likes?
The Cena reactions were more than a "handful of guys." It was the whole arena.
And if one or two fan reactions really is enough to ruin a segment for you, then you place far too much weight on unimportant details and the opinions of others. This isn't 90's Hulkamania.

John Cena getting boo'd is different because he sucks at his job as #1 babyface. You had a section chanting CM Punk when he was clearly being an evil bastard. Out of respect for CM Punk, you should boo him when he is clearly being an excellent evil bastard.
I also don't see how I am in the wrong for getting bothered by these jackasses. Like the one guy who kept yelling shit at The Rock during his promo. It is distracting.
Then get ready to be distracted as all hell at WrestleMania in New York - a throng of fans who are bound to yell shit at both The Rock and John Cena, possibly chant for CM Punk to end the streak, and most likely cheer on Dolph Ziggler when he potentially cashes in MITB and Randy Orton when he potentially RKO's Sheamus and Big Show.
You're not "in the wrong" for being bothered by these "jackasses." But these kind of fan reactions are the kind of thing that made ECW so great - the fans choosing who to boo and who to cheer, regardless of what the storyline was supposed to make them feel. I realize it's also part of what makes the Impact Zone such a shit place to shoot TV (as they will cheer anyone), but when the fans are cheering CM Punk as he busts Undertaker over the head with an urn filled with human remains, I think it just speaks to the fact that CM Punk is just that good. We love to hate him.

It is one thing if it is an organic reaction, but it was small enough to not seem organic and big enough to be annoying. It just seemed to be a bunch of pricks trying to be "cute little smarks".
