That was pretty sweet. I like that they've got a few balls in the air right now. Really looking forward to see how the events of Cap 2 affect the rest of this series and it could be for the best. There's still some obvious issues with some of the dialogue, characters and acting, but the storytelling as of late has been very good.

and any chance that Ward is actually still a good guy and is infiltrating HYDRA on SHIELD's behalf?

I lost track somewhere along the line,

was Hand supposed to be Hydra or not? Or was leaving it up in the air intentional?

No Hand was not supposed to be HYDRA at all. In fact, she seemed to have figured out HYDRA was in SHIELD a looooooong time before Fury was even aware of it. And now she's dead. OR IS SHE!?

I def think there's more to Ward than what we saw. Don't think its as simple as him being Hydra. Seems too straightforward. I'd probably prefer it if it was the case rather than Ward being a triple agent, too many twists can spoil the broth.

Shows really gaining steam now and can only get better now they're actually underdogs and not a faction of a massively powerful government agency that we're supposed to believe are underdogs.

Only just read that Amy Acker has been cast to play the cellist that was Coulson's love interest as mentioned in Avengers. That's at least myself and El Vaq whose interest in the show has just increased tenfold.

Seems to weird that Agent Hand would be like, 'How about shooting him for us Agent Ward' and then be blow everyone to pieces. His feelings for Sky seem to run to deep for him being an actual traitor. But something needed to happen to keep the show going and Hydra needs to be on top.

With Iggy on hoping he is a traitor though.

How many episodes are left?

Miotch
04-09-2014, 07:20 PM
I'm guessing his 'feelings for Sky' are all just for show. He didn't shoot the guy he 'thought' was the Clairvoyant because of what he might to to Sky as he said. He shot him because the actual Clairvoyant told him to.

Ruien
04-09-2014, 08:15 PM
But his feelings accomplish nothing if he is a traitor. No one ever suspected him and the kiss was out of no where. I do hope you are right though.

Ruien

It would make complete sense though because he was getting his ass kicked by like 5 guys. For a couple of them to be Hydra and help him makes perfect sense.

We don't know what Coulson said to Ward when he shook his head. He could be a Snape with Coulson's orders. Skye looked pretty alarmed with what was being said.

All I know about this show comes from this thread and I gotta say it got me interested. Might have to give it a shot (wasn't really into that whole Marvel world but not about superheroes thing).

Honestly, that was what intrigued me about the show; how they were going to pull off the exeptional everyman without needing to crutch themselves with superheroes all the time or somehow degrade the movieverse. Its kinda like ODST in the world of Halo, in that they're not Spartans, but still soliders in a galaxy of shit infinitely stronger than they, even on their own side. The Whedon boner was secondary.

That, and my aforementioned hope for some sort of Alpha Flight appearance. And possibly even Damage Control.

And I will admit it was kind of slow to start in setting up character development, and the nitpicking on the blah acting chemestry in the first episode. But it was worth sticking it out. Only thing about rerunning is that the gimmick of coinciding with movie releases like with the Asguardian prison break or the events from Winter Solider kinda loses some of its flair, but its still awesome even without the context.

Shadow
04-25-2014, 08:51 PM
You probably won't get Alpha Flight but Damage Control is a distinct possibility.

As is the Wrecking Crew

Tom Guycott
04-27-2014, 12:47 AM
I know, I know... but don't dash my hopes.

I mean, they could get away with just about anyone who's been in the lineup without much problem explaining their abilities being experiments or 084-ish tech. Guardian would be a no-brainer, since everyone has been trying to reproduce Cap in this side of the movieverse. Actually, they could use that to explain almost every one of the members. Even better, they could just put Heather in the suit, and Vindicator would give Joss another ass-kicking girl he seems to relish in.

The only problems they would run into would likely be Aurora and Northstar, since the twins are full blown mutants.

As for Wrecking Crew, it would seem logical to power them from one of the many looted objects from The Sandbox. Maybe even something to do with a mishap from handling the full "rage stick" Ward picked up.

And Damage Control could be the Lone Gunmen to this X-Files. They can come in and periodically lighten the mood by having them bitch about having to constantly clean up New York (after both Hulk and Avengers) and now the whole Hydra blowing shit up everywhere having them stretch their resources thin. Even as another one-shot, this would be entertaining.

Ward indeed tried to murder them. He's lost.

Shadow
05-07-2014, 02:09 PM
The character of Ward is....fascinating to me. He's a man trapped between three worlds. The world he grew up in, the world Garrett dragged him into, and the world of the Bus. It's really a pitying situation for him.

Also I think FitzSimmons was worried they were higher then they thought so jettisoning them would've killed 'em. Now...it was like Ward was just dumping them into the ocean to get rid of them. Not kill 'em.

SPEAKING OF FITZ! I really wish they'd decide if his character was angry at Ward or not. Because this last episode, he was really just trying to justify all of Ward's actions as "controlled by Garret" but when Ward murdered Patton Oswalt, he was super pissed off and angry at him. What the fuck happened? Seriously, consistency isn't this show's strong point now is it?

Maybe the miniseries is going to just basically be a prequel to the current going-ons.... showing the origins of S.H.I.E.L.D. as they battle the remains of Hydra... then it ends with Hydra's seeming defeat.... but we know better.

"Marvel's Agent Carter," starring Captain America's Hayley Atwell follows the story of Peggy Carter. It's 1946, and peace has dealt Peggy Carter a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life--Steve Rogers. Inspired by the feature films "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," along with the short "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter."

Finally watched the last episode. Really good season finale, I thought. Settled plenty but left quite a few things up in the air for next season. Paxton was a bit hammy when he went full in crazy but it worked. Giving Coulson the job of re-building SHIELD up from scratch was a smart way to keep SHIELD around and not make the show redundant, while not directly affecting what's happening in the films.

What's the score with the guy who Raina went to see at the end? Are there any theories going round about who he was and who/what Skye is?

Ward is def gonna be back next season in a "we can't trust him but he's the only guy who can help us" scenario. They just reeeeally need to not trim him full face again, and I'd be more than happy with him just being a minor recurring character from here on out.

The idea that Paxton was partially inspired by a misheard quote from Fury was just awesome.

While I think the Skye/Raina/alien language/dead thing stuff is almost certainly Kree related (and Ronan the Accuser bringing the race to light in August), I think there's so much mileage using Skrulls on this show.

ABC unveiled a new Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. billboard that may have motorists scratching their heads.

On Monday morning, a new ad for the show appeared on Barham and DeWitt—an intersection hard to miss when you’re coming into Hollywood—that features the mysterious alien equation that Coulson was carving into a wall in the final moments of the S.H.I.E.L.D. finale.

The billboard keeps with the minimalist tone the super series set going into its freshman run.

Can you decipher the alien equation? Tune in to Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on Sept. 23 at 9 p.m. on ABC.

I wasn't sure which thread to put this in but whatever.

I would love to see William Hurt return as Thunderbolt Ross, just to add more connection between Incredible Hulk and the rest of the movieverse. I think it would work in SHIELD, if they could convince him to work the show.

Kalyx triaD
08-26-2014, 01:09 PM
That would be cool. There's other, too, character that won't have much reason to appear in the movies again but could drop in the show. The cool thing is certain sub-villains could be a major problem for Coulson's team. Justin Hammer could get out, Batroc could cause some trouble, perhaps there's a runaway Dark Elf somewhere.

JimmyMess
08-26-2014, 01:18 PM

Marvel.com has release the official synopsis and credits for the Season 2 premiere of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The Season 2 premiere is called “Shadows,” and it features some rather interesting guest stars. Among the credited cast is Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, who appeared in the Captain America movies and will soon star in her own Agent Carter series. Also, Good Morning America's George Stephanopoulos is listed as playing himself in the episode.

In "Shadows," Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources--but that's not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?”

Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons and Nick Blood as Lance Hunter.

Guest starring are B.J. Britt as Agent Antoine Triplett, Nick Blood as Agent Lance Hunter, Adrian Pasdar as Brigadier General Glenn Talbot, Henry Simmons as Alphonso "Mack" Mackenzie, Patton Oswalt as Agent Billy Koenig, Lucy Lawless as Isabelle "Izzy" Hartley, Wilmer Calderon as Idaho, Reed Diamond as Daniel Whitehall, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Brian Patrick Wade as Carl Creel, Matthew Glave as Roger Browning, Simon Kassianides as Sunil Bakshi, George Stephanopoulos as self, Raquel Gardner as Carla Talbot, Ben Turner Nixon as Hydra Officer, Franco Vega as Military Leader, Rich Ceraulo as Soldier #1, and JB Tadena as Private Tilden.

The "Shadows" episode was written by Jed Whedon & Maurissa Tancharon and directed by Vincent Misiano. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 2 premieres on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 9 PM ET on ABC.

Had to imdb Wilmer Calderon as I thought it was Fez from That 70's Show. Turns out the guy was in the first Fast & Furious movie.

Fitz has a crush on Skye oh wait he likes Simmons who may or may not of have had a thing for Trip. Maybe we're looking far into it because there is no official romantic angle so far this season.

Synopsis for Agent Carter:

ABC presents its second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel in “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” inspired by the feature films Marvel’s "Captain America: The First Avenger" and Marvel’s "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," along with the short "Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter."

Years before Agent Coulson and his S.H.I.E.L.D. team swore to protect those who cannot protect themselves from threats they cannot conceive, there was Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger," Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"), who pledged the same oath but lived in a different time when women weren’t recognized as being as smart or as tough as their male counterparts.

But no one should ever underestimate Peggy.

It's 1946 and peace has dealt Peggy a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field; putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America.

When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, Marvel's "Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy - the only person he can trust - to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy, “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for releasing these weapons of mass destruction. But Jarvis, who is a creature of habit and sticks to a rigid daily routine, is going to have to make some major life changes if he’s going to be able to keep up with Peggy.

If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse. And as she delves deeper into her investigation, she may find that those she works for are not who they seem, and she might even begin to question whether Stark is as innocent as he claims.

I just download torrents.

We usually get your shows around here like 1-3 years later (depending on popularity). Recent significant exceptions are Walking Dead that airs a day later (paid channel, which I don't have) and Gotham, which is like 5 days late.

Speaking of carter I thought it was a series but the add spot last night said "8 episode event" so I guess its a mini series...honestly im more excited for it now than I was before

It's just for the time period when Agents of Shield goes on their winter break.

Based on what I read last summer, we should also expect Agent Carter to return during the summer hiatus.

Don't give him an inch. 30 seconds later he's free. They are as inept as drivers in a zombie apocalypse show/movie.

Yeah huge fail there.

But they played the Ward brothers very good. I honestly don't know if the older brother is some super evil guy versus Ward - who's actually been honest this season. Then again we've seen nothing about the older brother that's devious. He even honored his deal with SHIELD.

The Ward brothers add another element to the story. Does Grant begin his redemption arc now that he's free, or does he align with the dark side yet again? Is the Senator an evil mastermind? Did the Senator sweet-talk Coulson, like Grant said?

Also, who is the tattoo-ed man at the end of the episode? Do we know anything about him?

Thought it was Skye's father...

Firstly, I find myself suspicious of EVERYTHING! Coulson doing the Nick Fury "compartmentalization" thing on his decisions makes me distrust the face value of that "don't give him an inch" quote. He's already given Gemma, established to be a "terrible liar", an undercover field assignment... i don't think he is above using Ward as an asset even with the huge ammount of distrust (he was looking at Grant's file there at the end).

As for Christian, I'm pretty sure he'll eventually reach Frank Underwood levels of assholery. Just without the southern accent or 4 th wall breaks. It'll look like he is trustworthy for quite awhile, then he'll do that ONE thing to reveal (to the audience, at least) that Grant was telling the truth about him.

It's not him. Different actor. Hence, different character.

MAJOR ALERT!

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. producer Jeffery Bell has confirmed that the blue alien corpse, which has played a major role on the show (resurrecting Phil Coulson from the dead) is indeed a member of the alien Kree race. According to Bell, the alien identity of the mysterious blue figure will revealed in the December 2nd episode entitled “Ye Who Enter Here.”

The Kree, who made their first appearance in Fantastic Four #65 in 1967, were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirbry, and just as their influence on the Marvel universe has been substantial, their effect on the Marvel Cinematic universe appears to be increasing. In addition to Lee Pace’s Ronan the Accuser, a Kree who appeared in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, two Marvel entities with major Kree ties appear to be heading for the big screen: the Inhumans, who are the result of genetic experiments conducted on humans by the Kree in ancient times, and Captain Marvel, since Carol Danvers acquired her superpowers when her genetic material was combined with that of the Kree hero Mar-Vell (see “'Black Panther,' 'Captain Marvel,' 'Inhumans' Movies”).

Bell also told TV Guide that a big reveal concerning one-name heroines Skye (Chloe Bennet) and Raina (Ruth Negga) will be coming on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Will the two brunettes turn out to be aliens as well? The Kree who have been an obsession of Hydra since the 1940s will also reportedly provide another link from the S.H.I.E.L.D. show to Marvel’s Agent Carter series, which was teased in this season’s first S.H.I.E.L.D. episode (see “S.H.I.E.L.D. Premiere Flashes Back to WWII With Howling Commandos”).

OH please it's not like he's dead. He just fell 100 feet and is a Kree Sentry now.

Next week is gonna be awesome!

Yes, it was. :y:

Looks like they played trick-a-roo with the "other" black guy dying and Mack seeming to be out of his Kree Sentry stupor. Poor Trip. All he did was try to help Skye(Do we call her Daisy now?) and how he's a pile of nothing. This brings up the idea of FitzSimmons as an item maybe because it seemed like Trip and Simmons could have had a thing from what was going on at the end of Season 1.

Can't believe they took out the bad guy so early on. Thought he'd be around longer with his aging power.

Wonder who the blind guy works for any guesses?

Skye looked awesome breaking herself out of the Ghostbusters dog material. Her look at Trip was the best acting she's ever done on the show. I think she's better when she just acts and doesn't speak. She's like the Anakin Skywalker of the show.

Shit Agent Carter should start next week damnit. It was supposed to be a winter break series. It's winter break for Shield already.

Raina is probably gonna be Tonaja:

Then again, I don't know/remember too many inhumans.

Damn... I liked Tripp.... was kind of bummed when Mack showed up and stole all his screen-time.... but then I started to like Mack.... then it looked like Mack was done..... but now Mack is back and Tripp is done. Unless his Inhuman form is really tiny.

I liked Tripp and his backstory of being connected with the Howling Commandos....

So looks like Skye is officially supposed to be Daisy Johnson AKA Quake.

As for Reina, I saw some "spikes" or something on her face....
