I will field questions about the latest addition to Diablo, for skeptics and/or people looking for a game that lets you kill demons. This game has been dragged through the mud, but is very playable now and it's where I am at as of late when I get the time to play.

On constantly trying to find a damn Thunderfury and/or Fulminator for my barbarian. I'm over 500k base dps without a good weapon yet.

What difficulty are you running?

Loved playing the Hardcore mode, where you die once and it's over, but my game froze in Hell difficulty and my character died.

Sometimes, not very often, but sometimes if you contact Blizz over a HC character dying due to freezing/large lag spikes, they will rollback your account to pre-death. I've seen it happen a few times.

They actually had a pretty large occurrence of it a couple months ago, if I recall. They gave a bunch of people their characters back.

What difficulty are you running?

I'm grinding for Thunderfury too, I'm switching back and forth with my Barb and Crusader, both at 70 to kind of stay fresh and they trade STR gear.

I am not home to pass on my current DMG, but it has increased after a great weapon drop(Rare, but it'll do with the socket for Crit DMG) so I'm comfortably doing Expert for speed runs, and Torment 1 when doing Public/challenging solo play.

I don't discriminate against the Normal side of things, it's fun, but my Crusader doesn't generate Wrath that good when he one shots demons.

Here's a list on what I look for when I choose to grind stuff.

Just a little caveat, they bumped up the chances of getting legendary craft item drops to the same % of Death's Breath, these mats drop off certain elite spawns, so don't expect them to be dropping like rain. They'll drop more often when you find the certain elite spawn.

I thought I was getting more Death's Breath the higher the difficulty. I've just been running normal adventure mode with my barb for the caches then opening them in torment since they're still currently bugged in that if you open them in torment(regardless of which difficulty you earn them in) they'll still have a chance to pop Imperial Gems. My Barb does over 500k unbuffed, then with Battle Shout it jumps to over 630k, not to mention I have 50%(47% unbuffed) crit chance and just shy of 400% crit dmg.

I'm going to try the cache bug definitely. I barely played this weekend, with WM and GoT all up in the way and stuff I did get some levels on my HC Crusader, SerPowerslam.

He is a descendent of the mighty SerChokeslam. They were forged of the same Nephalem prototype. He only has one life and he intends to live it out until he gets jailed and poisoned to death in a tomb somewhere.

Haven't picked up RoS yet but fully planning on it. I've been hearing overwhelmingly positive reviews of it, things like how this is the game D3 should have been, etc. Only sticking point with most people is the price tag ("$40 for a fix?"). May get it on payday next week.

I hopped onto D3 the other night to play the patched vanilla game and was having a blast on my Witch Doctor. I'm noticing already the incredibly increased drop rate of useful items, due to the elimination of the AH. Good change. Tell me, how amazing is Adventure Mode? That alone makes me want to get RoS.

Adventure Mode is a main event option my man, the ONLY downside is you have to complete the story mode to unlock it, but only once and then the other heroes can just straight level Adventure Mode.

I've already beaten the game on my WD; don't remember if I beat BIG D(ale Newstead) on Inferno or not though. I think farthest I got was that cockblock Belial on Inferno. I donut no. Regardless, I doubt I'll need powerlevelling on him, I always like to experience the ish firsthand on my first go through of any new content.

You'll need to complete the new Act before experiencing Ad mode. I'll honor your first run through, and I'll be more than willing to help if you need it. You shouldn't have to suffer Public games

I have never done a single public game, I either do it all on my own, or with my dad in which we cheat adventure mode again by him taking two acts, me taking two acts, and doing the 5th one together for faster runs. Though sometimes my cousin and uncle have us do it with them for even faster runs.

Unique monsters now drop less items.
*Uniques were dropping far more loot than their difficulty would warrant.

Chest spawns have been thinned out across all acts of the game.
*Ideally chests become less common and something that players can’t flip games to farm. It is our goal to make them feel exciting and rewarding when you find them.

The Good!
The bonus legendary drop rate for rifts is being increased from 25% to 100%!
*This means that while in a rift your chance to find a legendary item from monsters, chests, elites, and everything else is double what it is outside of rifts. No this does not mean opening bounty bags in rifts is the new hotness. ;P

Kadala’s legendary drop rate has been significantly increased.

I added both of you, I was cranking out the last part of Act V on my Hardcore Crusader SerPowerslam. Now I have adventure mode unlocked so it is going to be more enjoyable leveling there.

If you guys need some help powerleveling your Crusader, let me know. I didn't get any powerlvl'ing help on mine, but I'm down to help if that is what you need.


I was on Act III two days ago and almost died to Ghom, but I leveled and went to full health. I saw my health go down upon killing him. I didn't know what to do, I tried to rush away from him and then a burst of light came over the screen and I thought I was gone 4 life.

I played mostly on my HC crusader, SerPowerslam this weekend.

I haven't been bothering anyone to group up as I know the game is still new and I don't want to crash the party. I know down the line I am able to host a full TPWW group that will take advantage of the split bounty thing. We'd be flowing in caches and destroying rifts. It will be glorious.

I got a few upgrades in SC for Crusader SerChokeslam and got my DH to 70, my third Nephalem to get there.

I spent some time trying the Jar of Souls Torment 6 stuff, it yields a good profit, but I was caught a few times getting there. I might try it again on my DH instead of Crusader.

I might level up my Wizard to run public games with in the future. They are powerful, I have my DH for group things. I usually run with the Crusader, but he is not as powerful to run with other Nephalem yet.

I've been mostly running Normal bounties to quickly get caches, until I'm geared up enough to tear through Torment. Got a Mad Monarch's Scepter last night, not totally ideal stats (vit, no socket... common enough to get so not gonna bother re-rolling since I'll get another soonish) and HOLY HELL it is the most fun thing of ever. On my WD I Spirit Walk into a group of bad guys, Soul Harvest, Piranhas, whatever random right-click spell, and by then enough bad guys die that the mace procs and KABOOM more bad guys die. And I have that one passive that reduces each CD by 1 second per bad guy killed within 20 yards, so basically none of my spells have cooldowns. Sexcellent.

May not be the most viable build for T1+ but for doing Normal bounties it is perfect

I grind on Normal, it's so fast and gets the gear, plain and simple. I like the flow of the WD and Wizard, I'm going to stray from my comfort zone and get those guys up to snuff soon. I'm usually a melee guy, but I'm practicing to stay alive and applying that to my HC career.

Oh no no friend, I was doing that Jar of Souls test I was talking about. I don't stay there. I was testing viability and wanted to get a piece of pie before they nerf it. I was testing toons and who was able to withstand the journey it takes to get into the jar room. It nets a good amount of xp and is going to get discovered soon enough. Everyone exploits stuff so fast that I have to sit at work and watch it get taken away. I wanted that piece o pie.

THE TEST: T6 Act 1, see the Jar of Souls bounty or go to the cemetery and hope for it to be there, run through the trash/elites, enter the Jar room, activate event, port to Tristam and stay there for a minute, go back and end event. You might have to deal with the elite mob that is there, but the XP is worth the minor trouble.

I didn't die, b/c I think it voids the whole scheme, so make sure you port right by the Jar. you can die after you end the event.

opened up 8 caches at the same time last night after spending less than an hour in public normal adventure.

I got an amulet that I had to reroll a stat on, but it was worth it. I'm about to be broke though, because I gamble too much

I finally got a legendary from gambling. Got a ssssssssssnake offhand, not either of the ones I wanted (Homonculus or Thing of the Deep), but it was nice to actually get something decent.

Haven't gotten any awesome items since my mace though. It is so much fun. Thinking of going to a Zombie Bears build and stacking some +poision% damage to benefit both DA BEARZ and the 'splosions.

I started a minigame irl, I have been joining grps of two or three ppl and walking like I was in Evolution, it's very hard not to laugh, that's the goal is not to laugh and see if they are ok with you walking with them.

Once I actually had Evolutions theme playing when my family and I tag teamed bounties, we all took an act solo, then grouped up to plow through the last one. Act IV bounty, Clear the Hell Rift on T1 is helping me get all my Nephalem to 70 pretty quick. 19 mil completion at 65-68.

The Jar of Souls is not netting much and is costly when trying to do it on T6 with your hero not at 70.

Got my barb some pretty choice stuff over the weekend, wanting to get all my guys to 70 so I can rotate them and not bore myself to death. I like to learn all the classes. Have streamlined paragon is going to help that become a reality

Got my Wizard to 70, it is a big adjustment as I'm used to melee classes. I need to focus on one class soon, I went broke paying for gem upgrades for all 4 of my 70s. #6 Monk- LVL 62-3? He's a jobber, I don't even remember his name. Boring class.

#5 Witch Doctor- LVL 65 SerjTankian- Very fun class, but also the least played one. He can clear rifts with ease and now that I can transmog him it'll only be the stars for him and he will be used for public/grp gaming

#4 Crusader- LVL 70 SerChokeslam- Down from #1 on the unofficial previous ranking. Very clunky and not worth putting anymore time into. My time invested in him wasn't all wasted, he was stripped of his strength gear and given to the new Mr. #1.

#3 Demon Hunter- LVL 70 FoulSorcery- I made him a bow last night that put him back into contention to be #1. His promos are what keeps me happy with his existence, he hates Demons and I do too.

#2 Wizard LVL 70 Books- This guy stayed in the Hell Rift bounty and conquered Nephalem Rifts coming off a strong week as he awoke from his coma. This guy went from jobber status to instant threat to the Champion.

#1 Barbarian LVL 70 Dethklokface- He dethroned SerChokeslam and striped him of his title and gear. Since becoming the Champion DKface has been performing at T1 solo capacity and will bring home more bread when I need it. He is fuming over the bank getting emptied to fund the jobbers, but his main focus is to get some more set items.

#1 - Barbarian, Kenpachi(lvl 70), I use him for everything since at the moment I don't have to worry about repairing his gear with the shoulders he's got. He's my Main Eventer. Got a slightly better Mad Monarch Scepter to replace the one I got last week an hour ago.

#2-5(not sure one the order for these characters yet)
Monk - Yoruichi(lvl 70) only thing of note is the Shenlong's Fist of Legend I got on my barb but couldn't id since it's a lvl 70 monk only item, which I'd well.
Wizard - Gohan(lvl 25) considering lvling this one next since I have a lot of fun on him every time I'm on him.
Demon Hunter - Gasket(lvl 26 I think) The class atm I'm not quite sure how to use yet.
Witch Doctor - Shango(lvl 12 I think) also using the spell that increases power up to 5 stacks

yessssssss I have those same shoulders too on my WD. Rolled shitty stats though (most rares I find give a damage +% on scrollover) but the lack of repairs is an immeasurable convenience. I might have to enchant them to get better stats at some point

Yeah, mine aren't the best either, but not having to repair, topped off with gloves that drop extra gold just for having a massacre bonus every time gets me gold hellafast.

word. Currently wearing 3 pieces of the Cain set which have brtl stats but that +50% XP is nice. Been doing A1 bounties like crazy trying to get a Royal Ring so I can take a piece off and up my DPS substantially.

Kinda bummed the ring doesn't work with 2pc sets. Got the WD set mojo (not Zuni, the other one) and the 2pc set bonus is kinda cool; makes a poison cloud follow you around or w/e. Would be hot with my "normal bounty" build of just running around AoEing everything with next-to-zero cooldowns. Would need to find and equp the dagger first though and I'd lose the awesome poison nova AoE from my Mad Monarch. oh well. really want a Royal Ring tho

I consider myself lucky because I made 2 pieces of cain's set for the mf boost, after I had already obtained the Royal Ring ammy. I think my mf is 88 or around that but definitely over 100 in group games. I found 2 or 3 Thundergods belts and salvaged both for the mats as they weren't better than what I had.

They ripped out the AH for both sides, and I do play HC, not for proving, but it's fun to manage not dying and dealing with consequences when you do die. The server problems are the biggest complaint from ppl that need a scapegoat. I've died on my own mistakes, poison mobs and what not.

I can solo T1/T2 pretty decently now. My build works better in groups bc I am heavily mana dependent so when I GET LOW (® Lil Jon) I'm pretty fkd if the group of champion bad guys is still alive. WITH OUR POWERS COMBINED (® Don Cheadle as Capt. Planet) we could probably do better.

Was doing some T3 rifts avec some of my "clanmates" and they were tearing through shit like hot knife through butter. But they're all "bigger nerds than me" and all have like paragon level 250+ and have been playing constantly for a while. D*ckholes

yeah, I like not being that high right now. I am not trying to burn out so quick, I think having responsibility and all that has really helped preserve my gaming time. I'm not on the boards of Diablo complaining about shit, when I log on from a terrible work day Diablo is there and with infinite demons to slay. Quite a beautiful thing that some take for granted.

Motherfuckers are getting too soft for their own good. If they want to come into my field of old occupation in the Army I'll go up to Oklahoma and make sure the soft ones don't make it. Pretty scared about the workforce after our generation fades.

I've been running torment rifts more lately and gambling to try and get a better helm. Really want to get the shitty non-Zuni WD set (forget the name).. I have the offhand but want the weapon, 2pc set bonus gives like +30 mana per kill, will really help with my mana problems. But want a Mask of Jeram or something still too.

Got so many rift keys right now from countless A1 bounty runs. Trying to burn through them but cache times sounds like good times

I also got a one-handed sword yesterday, but instead of Shard of Hate or Thunderfury like I hoped, it was The Ancient Bonesaber of Zumakalis. It's not that bad looking but the roll was shit so I couldn't replace my Bul Kathos Warrior Blood or Mad Monarch Scepter. Sitting a cool 15.6 million at least.

Patch 2.1 opened last week, and seasons(Ladder) has started. I decided go with the barb again and with the season only one week old today, I'm already paragon 46. Who's up for #RIF2014? Since, you know, you don't have to level to 70 before you can do adventure mode as it's open right when the season character is made.

I have no clue what the paragon stuff and the like is though, I probably should pay more attention to stuff really.

Paragon is basically just "levels after max level". It was a system they designed (before they fired basically the entire design team) to give people some endgame options because they were bored with the game.

What it is, is after you hit max level you can continue gaining experience that gives you "bonus levels" that show up as a number below your character. Each paragon level gives you 1 point in one of four different categories to further advance your character. i.e. if you're paragon level 40, you can put, say, an additional few points in Vitality or something, on top of what your gear allows. It's a cool addition to the system.

What's really cool about paragon levels is that they are shared through your full account. So if you have a beastly Demon Hunter at max level and grind some paragon levels, those will affect all your other characters too. (exception: softcore and hardcore paragon levels are separate; seasonal characters and non-season are separate until season is over and the season characters move to the normal pool of characters in which case your paragon exp from season is transferred over)

Couple of buddies in my clan are at about ~200 plevel on season already. Ridiculous. I've been trying to play my seasonal doc more but I've been having a ton of fun playing my usual dude. Refined my Carnevil build and I can tear through T4 relatively easily. If I had the patience to enchant a few pieces better I could probably do T5-6 no problems. For what it's worth I can do GR20 easily enough, but I've yet to try higher. Did GR22 with two friends (one was essentially being carried and the other was a boss DH who was making me look bad). So I'm probably right around that range right now.

Interestingly enough (note: only to me because COOL STORY BRO and all) I've had a bunch of the Jade Harvester set drop for me this past week and I've been wanting to try the build out at some point... might gamble the rest of it. Dunno though still really want a Dagger of Darts.

Rift'd it Forward last weekend with a random DH. We both opened 3 each and tore through them only hitting a few insane affixes that caused insta death.

After my Wizard and WD hit 70, every class will be max level and ready to work up to T6.

I'm pretty much stuck at T4/5 on my WD right now. I can do T4 with relative ease but T5 has been borderline-kicking my ass. Once I get a dagger of darts and socket my rings/neck it should get a lot easier.

It's really quite remarkable. I don't have much gold find gear at all but even running on T1 (had to break up some set bonuses to equip it until I socket the proper jewelry) I made a few million just doing a single rift. Pretty impressive.

I reckon with a full GF set on you could probably get about 1B gold in a night then never have to worry about cash again.

I know right away I upgraded a bunch of gems and did not have to worry about it. This will make enchanting SO much less stressful

I don't really notice, tbh. I know in a recent patch (2.0.5 maybe? maybe .0.6 or .0.4, somewhere there) they significantly increased gold find's effect

But I have I think ~1500% in my "gold find gear" (when I was testing the gem) and noticed a nice boost in stack size of gold piles. The 1500% may have factored in the difficulty bonus as well, I think the character sheet shows that


Honestly I think just playing in higher difficulty gives the most noticeable boost

Could be hilarious though to run Boon of the Hoarder + Goldwrap though, millions of armor for ages

ugh man thank god I DID get that gem... trying to reroll this stat on this ceremonial knife that dropped. it's not great but could easily be a niche item for me. rerolled the socket out of it ~15 times to try to get 10% damage (I have 3 of those "gift" items that add socket to weapon) and closest I got was a 6% roll, rest have been resource cost reduced or vit etc.. awful RNG

I experienced a 10 goblin spot in a rift one time, only got to 3 of them as I was a fresh 70 on higher difficulty, was still cool to see it though. I should have waited on my cooldown of warriors, the Barb one that spawns your ancestors.

The portal can't open from goblin kills in rifts

The way I did it was make a game in adventure mode, go to Act 1 > Halls of Agony 2 (I think it has 100% chance of spawning a goblin or very close to), run around, kill goblin, remake game if Vault didn't spawn


But if you kill 40,000 goblins in rift you'll never get the portal. Once I read that I dropped everything and farmed the portal lol... got it on like my 5th goblin kill

Legendary gems are the tits. I have always used a crusader build that was capable of t4-t5 at most, but now with 2 gems equipped that same build pwns t6 for me finally.

Can't wait to add the pain enhancer to them at rank 25. Finally started my season character now though. Got around to rolling my first DH since the launch of classic. Not too bad I must say; sentrys and rapid fire while vaulting around is pretty fun.

Only character left for me that I have never played is now Monk.

I've played all the classes so I get at least an ok feel of them, Monks can be pretty powerful with the right set up as my uncle was doing T6 easily with only paragon 220(now over 300). I'm not that good with anyone yet.

Managed to solo T3 Rifts over the weekend. Delved into T4 and got my ass handed to me by one of those damn charging beasts in about 2 shots. Need more defense or life or something. Damage nearing 900k on a no-spend build. Never thought it would work but pleasantly surprised.

Finally leveled my WD to 70. That class has become a TON more fun, but I think will feel complete when the 2.1 patch arrives. Found a Carnevil helm that makes fetishes shoot a poison dart anytime I do. When I have an army of them, poison dart rapes ass like a convict in fo lyfe gettin ahold of some (butcher) FRESH MEAT.

Hope my nemesis invades your game Heisenberg, and you knock his ass out for epic lewts.

Dagger of Darts is nice, but then there's Starmetal Kukri which reduces the CD of Big Bad Voodoo and Fetish Army by 1 second for every hit done by a Fetish in which is immense when you have 15 of them at once, that's 15s x let's say 20 hits, you'll have BBV back in no time.

I've never gotten an SMK but once I got my Zuni set didn't feel it was as important. The BBV cooldown is nice but with Tribal Rites it's usually up whenever I need it anyway... lose the "flat" 20% damage buff from having it constantly up but having it for elite packs and RGs is enough for me IMO

I do feel stupid salvaging all my Raekor's and IK pieces though as bow sets combined is immensely powerful with Furious Charge having every rune and perm Ancients.

You can't get a portal to the Vault if you're killing goblins within rifts (just to be sure)... I did Halls of Agony wp and farmed goblins that way, would kill one every ~3-4 minutes or so, I got the vault to open within 10-15 minutes

I was running Core of Arreat, Leoric's Passage, Defiled Crypts, Northern Highlands and the cheapest spot at shows up once every 3-6 games, the spider queens area where the bridge has an elite spider by a cocoon which'll spawn a goblin by opening it.

Needed a break from civilization (both IRL and the Firaxis manifestation) so took advantage of the 100% gold/xp bonus in D3 over the weekend. Think I churned out about 15 paragon levels on my main, and another 10 or so on my seasonal. Really need a Dagger of Darts for my Carnevil build. Thankfully I had a bunch of blood shards saved up so I could gamble a shitton over the weeken....

My WD is nearly fucking untouchable right now. Effectively can run Torment III without an issue (solo).

Rebuilt my monk and she is now working through Torment II. Found some helm that causes my Wave of Light to be cast at the target. Gave it the Pillar rune and cast 2-3 quite quickly and shit melts. Will be much better when I get some + Lightning damage.

Managed to get to Paragon 192 or 193 this weekend. Love how different the game feels with different builds. Going to hold me over for another couple weeks till WWE2K15.

The last patch for PC they upped the cost of gambling, with supposedly better chance at legendaries. Jury still out on that. Off the top of my head:

Weapons - 75
Amulets - 100
Armor slots - 25

The cap is still 500 though. I probably spent about 2k shards on weapons over the weekend and got 1 legendary. Doesn't feel like they buffed the leg %, if they truly did by that much. Annoying though.

I've been working on trying to level up my gems. Once you get a gem to rank 14 or so it's tough to rank it up if you're mired in GR20 or so. Low % chance to successfully rank up. :( Getting my Enforcer and Swiftness gems to 25 is going to be a bitch until I'm able to do GR30 or so, which I don't foresee happening for a while (unless I get lucky with a DoD shortly)

I'm a bit sketchy on the "translation"; what GR level does TIII correspond to now? I can run T6 bounties on my WD fine but can't seem to kill things fast enough in GR21 to advance much farther than that (albeit only 1 or 2 attempts)

I find GR to be subjective and really a bit random. I have had GR that I didn't complete simply because lack of mobs OR incredibly long distances between mobs. Other times, I can trash GR28 T IV on my Barb without even trying.

Also believe the trial system is wonky and is easy to "game" to obtain higher GR levels. Multiple occasions I have started at GR 27 or so, destroy the trash but get 1 shotted by bosses.

Also find the payoffs for GR to be underwhelming compared to normal rifts.

My build is tough to get a good Trial run because I need the ramp-up of getting my Fetish Sycophants passive going. Usually I get about GR18 out of the trial. Can usually smash through that quick enough to move up a few levels after.

My last one I did yesterday was GR23 and I had the boss at about 10% with 3 seconds to go. Just missed passing it. I think I could easily do it. I do hate the sparsity of mobs in some GRs, that's why I have the Fierce Loyalty passive on my WD (+30% move speed when you have any pets out, while out of combat). Really cuts down on that downtime in empty rift levels. Plus if you die it helps with the corpse runs :o

My goal this week is to try to get up to GR28 or so.

PC#1 baby. I miss playing with Heisenberg, but he has higher priorities now so it's all good.

WD is a great group class because you can forego DPS and offer insane CC potential. With a couple items and skill swaps you can have nearly 100% uptime on a handful of AoE CC abilities. The damage output is low but in a group that matters little.

Mine is very similar as well. Right now, I made him bright green and black to go with the poison theme. I get bored at times and let my wife do the accessorizing, she really enjoys it.

Generally dress mine up in red and or black. Typical, yea, but also my two favorite colors.

Monk has a badass sword in one hand and a hook hand for the other. Still have yet to find a replacement for my level 60 Bonesaber. Put a socket in it for crit damage and it already has 1.79 attacks per second. Pretty sick watching her punch shit so fast.

And I didn't try and GRifts tonight because I wasn't feeling like taxing myself too much. I was shredding through T5 bounties and normal rifts though, which I never really tried before. May attempt some T6 rifts tomorrow. Was trying to do T6 bounties... act III to get the gold-find ring, but the Seigebreaker bounty kept fucking me up because he always has Damage Reflect. I have negligible life-per-hit so that just simply was not happening. Could feasibly do most bounties though. If that goes well I'll probably do some T6 rifts.

Kadala continues to be rude to me. Waiting for a DoD still. Hell I'll even take an SMK (rarer but less-desired by me) so I could ditch Zuni and really have fun with my gear.

It's nice to have all of one stat maxed out per tab in paragon... i.e. maxed attack speed, now I can start pumping up my crit damage. Is paragon level capped? Feasibly, plvl 800 maxes out all your stats. But you still get small incremental gains per actual level-up as well, right?

I haven't really noticed any increase legendaries either, and when I do get them they are always the same 5. I can handle T6 well, but for the most part GR 28 is where I start getting problems despite beating 30 or 31 as my record. Next time I see you on your season WD I'll join your game and power you through.

Been playing a bit more D3 lately, just been having the itch. My buddy and I have been running Greater Rifts and got up to I think 32 or 33 tonight, and then did a 34 or so when another person joined our game.

Incidentally enough, we were all Witch Doctors (master race baby). My buddy runs a Tiki build that worked tremendously. I'm still running my Darts build, and the third guy had Jade.

My damage really fell off sharply after about Greater Rift 30 or so. I'm putting some strong consideration into building a Jade set, but need to gamble the Quetzacotl helm first and get a viable weapon. I have a crappy Sun Keeper that I could use in the interim I guess.

Had a Tiki drop last night too and would love to do a build with that, but obviously not to play with him while he's using his... maybe if I ever play with Heisenberg etc again I will try it because it's way more group-friendly than my Darts build.

Went Jade last night and holy smokes so good. My damage is super low but I've been comfortably doing high-20s GRifts. My gear is far far far from optimized so once I upgrade a few pieces I'll be cooking. Need a ton of CDR. Excited to play with my buddy who locks the bad guys down and I can waltz in and clean house. We can probably clear high-30s if I get going

So much potential for extra damage. +Poison Dart damage currently is a useless roll (your own personal dart damage is a fraction of your overall DPS) so this would be monumental. Carnevil superfun build. I did just recently go back to it for a larf though and it definitely felt slower than my current Jade build. I think I'm sticking to Jade for now.

But since my s1 WD will become non-seasonal I'll just make him my dart doc and use my main one as my Jade doc. Easy peasy.

I'm liking the patch. I've only made 4 games and each one had a different goblin, first was the new Blood Thief who dropped over 250 Blood Shards, the second was the new Maleviolent Tormenter who dropped so much blue and yellow that my inventory was filled then the stupid Rainbow Goblin, Whimsydale is still not that worth it though the drops of gold/items are better, then the regular goblin whose drops haven't really changed. The first T6 regular rift I did, at paragon level 396, the RG went down in less than 30s as a Raekor Charge Barbarian.

The new goblins are awesome. A few friends and I were doing some T6 rifts and we got one of those floors with a shitton of goblin spawns. Between the four of us we wiped out most of them, and holy shit all the gold/items/crafting mats on the ground. Insanity. Should've taken a screenshot. I believe I alone had 7 legendaries on screen at the time lol

I think the Whimseyshire goblin was already in the game prior to 2.1.2, could've sworn I got him before. The blood shard guy is super rad though, esp with all the gambling we'll be doing to get ancient legs.

Threw the BONESABER (tee hee) on my level 33 hoe (WandaSykes whattup) for a larf. She was using some like 64dps sword, then BAM into a 2700dps BONESABER (tee hee), my DPS number shot up 6100% or something. IMPOSSIBRU

After doing some comparisons of different armor slots (note: not jewelry or weapon/offhand), it strikes me as Ancients not being overly great to have.

For example, a typical armor slot (chest, bracer, boots, etc) has a range for mainstat of 416-500. Ancient quality is identical except the range is 550-650. There are two exceptions: gloves and helmets, where the mainstat ranges are 426-750 and 850-1000 (I could be wrong on those values, going off the top of my head)


I think it would've been way fucking smarter if Ancients for ARMOR slots instead rolled an additional primary stat. Would make those items much more valuable.

Yep, and they kinda pigeon holed themselves with the set bonuses on most top tier sets. Hopefully, as more ancients are put into the game, build diversity will expand.

PLayed last night and this morning, so fucking stoked to see goblins in rifts. Ran into at least a dozen so far. Their loot quality is TONS better as well. No ancient weapons yet, but still improved drops and better mechanics (with what was changed).

That's really the aim. I do feel fortunate that WD has maybe 4 or 5 viable endgame (GR 30+) builds, which is awesome because you're not stuck just playing one type. Would be rad if they made Helltooth viable and maybe somehow made another viable build like Corpse Explosion or Zombie Bears or something... but having Jade, pet, dart, Tiki (both zDPS and pet), and Grin Reaper all as decent builds, it's nice to have that diversity.

Don't know if other classes have that many options.

Played this some more over the weekend. Started building up my DH and Wizard. DH is running an all cold build which is working surprisingly well. Not building it in the skill calc right now b/c work and laziness. Managed to have 2 Marauder set pieces drop and crafted an Ancient Legendary Blitzbolter. Not the best, but better than what I had.

Also, my WD has become even more of a killing machine than ever before with the fetishes finally getting poison % boosts.

Feels like a fresh game for the most part, especially since I changed 4 of 6 of my class builds.

Yeah, the Skeleton King Uber is a pain, but I'm finding the poison ones like Blighter and The Choker harder. My Hellfire is really good, but your right, if only the damage slot was a socket for the extra legendary gem my dps would be even higher than it already is. What sucks is season 1 ends in a couple weeks, and season 2 should start sometime March I think as Blizzard hasn't announced when it starts.

Carrying people is hard. Buddy of mine and his friend were in a game with me and we were doing GR34 and they couldn't kill shit so I had to pick up all the slack. We ended up running out of time. The scaling with multiple people in the game is tough, if not everyone is pulling their weight. Haven't tried any solo GRs last night, think I could easily hit 35+ right now. My main 3 gems are 30 so I need those higher success rates to upgrade them :(

Nice, even with Bane Of The Trapped and Gorgok's Gem at level 34 GR 34+ solo still hurt me, mostly the lightning and fire chains though.

I attempted a GR36 last night and was getting obliterated by Damage Reflect bad guys. Not cool. I think once you get up past 33/34 or so you really need to consider some of the defensive gems or just defensive skills/items in general. I could afford to sacrifice a bit of damage for survivability; killing things isn't my issue. Running into thunderstorm/reflect damage/mortar guys does me in more often than not. Seems my fetishes actually die around 34+ as well.

I did just re-fit my Enchantress though. Originally I was going for as much DPS on her as possible but after thinking about it her DPS is really insignificant compared to what I'm pumping up. Instead I've gone with putting one of my Thunderfury's on her and an Ess of Johan for more CC. Have an ancient Unity I put on her (will put one on myself when I get a 2nd) and the immortal relic. Obsidian Ring of the Zodiac for CDR/IAS as well. Plan to just use her as a CC-bot. Haven't done a run since making that change though since I came to this revelation at 12:45 last night :(

Found some Frostburns on my DH that were better than the other gloves I had. Cold DH + cold damage freezing enemies + multishot and/or cold cluster arrow = EZMode.

Also managed to GR 30 and still getting nearly one shotted by the RG's. I can clear with plenty of time, but damn, they seem to hit fooking hard! Need more def on my barb I guess. Maybe I will try sword/shield.

That's the problem I ran into with my Jade build. I could clear super fast but come the RG I would just stall out... DPS is dependent on the one cooldown so you can only really nuke him every 8-12s or so (depending on your CDR). Rest of the time is spent running around not dying while your dots tick on him.

Darts build excels at single-target damage so RGs typically are one of the easier parts of GRs for me right now.

Really love darts, not sure what other build I would have. Piranha-nado + darts targeting the mob furthest away results in shit melting quite quickly. Infinite Fetishes helps with that, but it is by far the most dps heavy character I have at the moment.

It is a fun build but does have its drawbacks. Because Dagger of Darts adds such a phenomenal DPS increase, you can't run SMK with it (well, you could, but DoD is the ideal weapon); not being able to constantly reposition your FA means there are many times you have to stop attacking to let your shitheads reposition themselves so they're not shooting into corners, up stairs, etc. I do think it offers much more effective DPS than a traditional pet build though, since you can focus specific targets you want to melt instead of letting them just have at 'er

Yea, the god damn FA shooting walls/objects is the biggest pain. Just spirit walk the fuck back a bit and reset.

Used to use firebats with the swarm or whatever it was, simply because it melted the shit out of everything, but it was pretty wonky and not viable beyond T1.

I really wish they made *more of our mana spenders viable builds. I guess Jade kinda counts with Haunt, but the bulk of your damage comes from Soul Harvest. Never was a huge Zombie Bears fan but at least it was making you consider taking some mana regeneration abilities. Currently things like Vision Quest and Rush of Essence (or w/e.. mana restore one when using spirit spells) are useless. Again though, we have like 5-6 viable endgame builds so can't complain too much I guess. Just like having options

Made some BIG CHANGES to my build... got rid of all my stupid Zuni crap because it seriously limits a lot of item slots. Feels uncomfortable not having a steady supply of fetishes running around at all times but with the Dagger of Darts you proc Sycophants so frequently I barely noticed. Then Fetish Army turns into just another Elite/Rift Guardian cooldown for a ridiculous DPS boost. It actually works quite well. I've swapped in Grave Injustice as well so it is pretty much always up, I think it's improved my clear times significantly.

Did a GR35 last night, only had 24 seconds to spare though. Still my current high. Will attempt 36 tonight.



Question for people... I'm looking at grabbing a Tal Rasha's chest armor for my WD. TR is a Wizard set. What's awesome about it is it always has an IAS roll, which is crucial for my build. My question thus is, if I level a Wizard to 70 and gamble for a TR armor (smart loot and all), could I then go on my WD and reroll it to try and get a +skill% (in my case, Fetish Army) roll on it? Or can it only roll Wizard skills? Or, to put the question more vaguely, can other classes get skill% bonuses on sets from a class? Anyone have any experience with this?

I think it's possible to reroll base stats, I have rerolled DH Hungering Shot to Monk Way Of The Hundred Fists on a Blackthorn Belt, so rerolling stats is possible while set bonus naturally will never change.

Could potentially be a huge DPS gain. My attacks / second right now when buffed up (Gogok gem + Enchantress aura + BBV) are at 2.64. If I can push that to 3/sec that'd be hawt
