Giant Bomb after party will start at 6:30 tonight (and tomorrow(and Thursday)) and it's always entertaining with the guests they get and their interviews they give. They haven't said who they got this year yet but it's always been good.
Did they give a reason why there wasn't one yesterday?

They did one last year for Day 0 a while after the Sony event ended. Figured they might have announced why one wasn't happening during their "Talk Over" Sony conference video but didn't watch it.
Only noticed on Twitter how they all stated they were going to sleep right around the time they usually host the after party events.

Just finished watching the Sony Presser:
Horizon: Zero Dawn looks great. If that turns out to be a full fledged hunting game along that you can make awesome gear out of "hides", I'm all for it.
Last Guardian looks fun.
Dialogue in the Uncharted 4 demo cracked me up. Might just pick that up to see how it all ends. Even if I gotta grumble non stop about the gun play.
I'm in the boat with the rest of ya. No interest in Assassins' Creed. I think Hasney mentioned it somewhere you can't beat Black Flag. Although last year's Rouge was a great game.
Biggest fear is that Playstation is going the way of Microsoft. What's supposed to be primarily a gaming console is turning into a entertainment console.
Tired of Call of Duty.
That Firewatch game looks pretty neat. No Man's Sky has me a bit concerned. Presenter seemed mad nervous on stage. Would have liked a bit more info on faction wars, gadgets, etc.
FF7 and Shenmue 3 in the works. :y:
All in all. Sony did what they've been doing the past couple years. Fan service. And they delivered it yet again. Just putting out great games.
Gonna go watch Ubisoft now.

k, so after watching the Nintendo conference I don't really blame you. But WiiU is still awesome, and you should get one, especially if you want to play with your tykes.
But yeah. Starfox, Mario Maker, and Xenoblade looked cool. Everything else fell flat. Blown away by the fact that they had nothing to show of the new Zelda in development.
Also pretty miffed that they finally announce a new metroid game in development and it's some dumb 3DS bobblehead game. And it has co-op which defeats the whole purpose of Metroid, imo.

Ubisoft Presser:
That's comforting. Can't trust my co-op friends because they can turn on me and steal my shit in The Division. Not so sure about this game if I'm gonna be busting my ass for average guns if they're gonna be the best loot.
R6: Siege looks awesome. But it's definitely a party game. Gonna be hard to convince my buddies to get this. A lot of communication needed. Maybe TPWW can get together and get a SWAT unit up and running? And the fact Angela Bassett is on board as Six, Ubisoft doing their best to get to A-List actors involved in their games is a good strategy.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands has me intrigued. Like the concept of being open world/choose your own missions/more mercs less military style. But it's going in a totally different direction than it's predecessors. I know change is good.........and bad, but I need more to be sold on it.
Flip a coin and either watch EA or Microsoft tomorrow.

Yeah, the whole "turn on your partners" thing in The Division actually turned me off the game. Like, have these guys even been to the internet? Do they realize that by adding that to the game, it effectively eliminates, joining up with randoms?
Siege is kind of the same deal, but at least you can try. Maybe the need for teamwork will force more randoms into using mics and it won't even be a problem.

"Earthbound Beginnings" is seriously just the prototype cartridge that got leaked on the internet ages ago. I don't think anything about it is different at all
Confused about the people who are "rejoicing" over this... did they just never play the prototype or Earthbound Zero... both are really easy to play
I understand being happy that Nintendo is acknowledging the series or whatever and I bought Earthbound Beginnings, but I don't care that much and I'm not gonna play through the whole game again just because of this

All I ask for in ff7 remake::::::
- Turn based battles
- Navigable world map with airship
- Music that creates the "emotion" for scenes instead of voice acting... honestly as little voice acting as possible
Other than that I really don't care so much... just have very little faith that they won't butcher these simple things
Fignuts

Zero chance that they aren't going to replace all text with voice acting. I totally get where you're coming from, but it's just not going to happen.
Don't see any reason why they would remove traveling with the Highwind.
As for combat, they will probably add some tweaks and features to "spice it up" but they probably won't do anything radical. Will still likely be turn based at it's core.
People didn't clamor for this for almost 20 years for a completely new game. They want the same basic game with modern bells and whistles, and I think Squarenix knows that.
Not going to change it's PRIME FACTORS.

This came from Eurogamer
Speaking to Eurogamer at E3, Metroid Prime series producer Kensuke Tanabe said that due to the amount of content such a game would require, it would probably take several years to develop.
"If we started for Wii U now, it would likely take three years or so. So it would likely now be on Nintendo's NX console," he said.
"It's a long time but it would need to include a lot of content, which would take a lot of work on the development side."
Speaking with Tanabe, it was clear he had plenty of ideas for the game, including a focus on a single planet that has a time-shifting mechanic, similar to Metroid Prime 2: Echoes' single planet with dark and light variants.
"Instead of broadening it to more planets I would have one and would focus on the timeline, and being able to change that. That's one interesting idea I have in mind... but I understand many people thought that [Echoes] was too difficult."

Anyone hoping Sony might consider having backwards compatibility for the PS4 because of Microsoft's recent announcement shouldn't expect much since Sony recently stated they have no desire to do so.
Stated Microsoft was doing it because they wanted to get Xbox 360 owners to upgrade while implying them trying to get back 360 owners that switched solely to the PS4 this gen. Made no mention of PS Now playing a role in their decision nor the possibility of PS1/PS2 games being made compatible in the future.
PlayStation Europe boss Jim Ryan says the backwards compatibility of Xbox One is a legitimate strategy in trying to upgrade 360 players.
But he says that Sony will not be following the same tactic, as the firm is investing in other software updates to PS4. He also adds that - based on their experience - few gamers actually make use of such functionality.
“It was quite a complicated announcement and I’m not sure I fully understand it yet. And I suspect there might be a few twists in that particular tale. But we will see,” he told MCV when discussing the Xbox One announcement.
“It is an entirely legitimate approach, and if you are seeking to upgrade 360 owners to Xbox One, it is a very logical approach to take.
“We are just taking a different path. To the extent that you are investing in software technology - which is what this is, it’s delivered through software not through hardware - we are trying to commit our resources and put our emphasis on delivering on the promises we made right at the start of this whole PS4 thing, to be the forward-looking, socially-connected console. We are placing our bets on things like SharePlay, on things like Play as you Download, and things like Suspend/Resume.
“We are just taking two different approaches. Unfortunately there are just not sufficent enough software engineers in the world for everyone to do everything. Each platform holder has to make their choices, we made one and they made another. Their choice is entirely legitimate, and I think our choice is legitimate, too. In some ways it is quite nice to have points of difference between the two platforms, and people will decide which approach suits them best.
“We have experience of backwards compatibility. The earliest PS3 model was backwards compatible with PS2, and it is a much requested feature… but actually it’s not so greatly used.

E3 Stuff:
* According to Nintendo, Metroid Prime: Federation Force while being a spin-off game will also act as a bridge between Metroid Prime 3 and the next main Metroid game. Also revealed MP3's ending plays a role for Federation Force and the next Metroid game's story. Was a big reason why Federation Force is getting made.
– Tanabe reminded IGN about the ending of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
– After Samus’s ship flies off into the distance, another ship suddenly appears
– He said that players Metroid Prime Hunters should recognize that the ship belongs to a bounty hunter called Sylux.
“He’s actually chasing after Samus, and that’s where that game ends. There’s still more I want to build around the story of Sylux and Samus. There’s something going on between them. I want to make a game that touches upon [it].”
“I’m also thinking that, in that eventual game between Sylux and Samus that might get made, that I wants to involve the [Galactic] Federation as well. So it would be a good idea to release a game like Federation Forces to flesh out its role in the galaxy before moving on to that.”

The flying mechanics feel a bit better than Battlefield games, where I typically can only stay in the air a few moments before crashing
Soooooo, he sucks a little less at flying in this game. I wonder if CoD had flying if he would have compared it to CoD?
First person felt ripped from Battlefield, with aiming down sights or through scopes.
Or any other modern FPS :|
I found myself dying far more often than I remember in classic Battlefront games, and that has been a problem for me in Battlefield games as well. Indicators that you're taking damage aren't obvious enough and by the time you do realize you're taking fire, you're dead. While there is a health meter that ticks down, I still felt like I was dying nearly instantly as if I were playing a Battlefield game.
I mean.... really? How many blaster shots should one be able to take? Does he want the player being shot to AUTOMATICALLY zip around to the shooter location? This seems like a simple perception issue that will improve as player skill improves.
