Been going back and forth on whether I want to get the ps4 version. On one hand, I want to support the devs, and I have 28-31 off so I'll be able to create and upload a bunch of wwe edits in that time.

On the other hand my hard drive fried so I'm buying a new laptop in couple weeks and will have to remake all my rosters on PC, so I kind of don't want the extra work on ps4.

If I do get the ps4 version and go on an edit making marathon, I'll probably stream it.

I must have turned on cloud saves before my hard drive fried, because when I installed Fire Pro on my new laptop, all my edits were intact. That means I'm going to work on the PS4 version next week. I'll be porting over DKKM's edits who is regarded as having some of the best edits in the community in terms of logic and he's got over 2300 edits uploaded to steam ranging from current stars to the 1800's. Will be adding my own appearances since his are really basic.

On top of that, Carlzilla has said that while he would have been able to update the mod suite a couple weeks into classes, his workload will be too high a couple months in. So people will have to choose between the mod suite or new content for the foreseeable future.

If you choose mod suite you will have to download any workshop edits you want now because you'll have to play it in offline mode after the content releases.

My advice would be to stick with the modded version and wait for however long it takes Carl to update the suite.

I'm chomping at the bits to try out the new parts and story mode, and yet even I'll tell you that those new features don't add remotely as much to the game as the mod suite.

Not really since its already come at the cost of other stuff being delayed. From what I've read about this situation, seems Spike is doing this to mainly to cater to the Japanese market since the PS4 is stronger there than PC for game sales.

Longevity, PC is going to be much stronger than the PS4 in terms of community and sales for this game so the last thing Spike needs is to keep antagonizing them with broken promises.

Also, definitely not going to be any more Fire Pro games after this. At least not for a very long time. Sales in Japan aren't any where near where they need to be right now to offer continued support, and it's getting roasted in reviews due to save corruption, laggy menus, and other bugs.


Controversial price point will probably hurt the game's sales in the states, since it's not as well known of a franchise over here.

Again, this news hasn't bothered me much, but there is justification to be upset. Of course you want to prioritize the platform that will make you the most money. That's why back in January, when they announced that going forward they would be putting the majority of their efforts towards the PS4 version, everyone on PC was supportive. Because the goal was for the game to be as successful as possible so that they could offer continued support for all platforms.

But at the end of the day, you have to handle your shit. And delaying content a week before release because you prioritized a platform at the expense of another is not handling your shit.

Absolutely tremendous new mod available. One of, if not the biggest flaw of the game is the atrocious edit mode UI. If you want to alter an edit, copy an edit, or delete an edit, it's not like Returns where the edits are sorted into the groups you've put them in. It's just one big list of all your edits, and you've got to find the one you're looking for. Considering the workshop filled up with over 10,000 edits the first week, it should have been addressed a long time ago. It hasn't.

New mod is a search bar which allows you to immediately find the edit you want and load it in the game. Even if it's an edit you've downloaded from the workshop, which is huge.

When I port edits to PS4 next week, this mod is going to save me soooooooooo much time.

Seems Spike is hinting at another delay occurring with their plans for upcoming content and like last time, also hinted their focus on the PS4 version is to blame.

They completely underestimated how much trouble and hassle working on the PS4 version was going to cause considering how small they are as a studio.

Its a total shit show at the moment. This combined with the price point will kill this series for good. As much as the NJPW deal may have generated interest, the game may have been better off without it.

NJPW DLC is out. That was random.

If you have mods, unpatch them before you update. If you are using custom moves or edit parts however, unpatching alone won't be enough, as they are tied to your save. You will have to remove them from any edit that uses them, and then unpatch the mods.

Personally, I'm just gonna wait for Carl to update the suite. Should have a better idea how much of the mods the update funks up and how long it will take him to fix everything within the week.

Since an update was never posted here - not sure how many people even read this thread but the mod suite is never being updated. Version 2.00 completely nuked most of the mod compatibility and as such, Carl's thrown in the towel.

It's either 1.02 with mods, or get the DLC and lose mods. I ended up buying the PS4 version so I have PC with mods and PS4 base game.

But in any event, this is a massive fuck you to the modder community and even if Spike re-worked things to allow mods or came out with another game in the future I think they've fucked off enough people they just won't have the support from long-time backers anymore.

I mean, they have no obligation to the mod community. Don't get me wrong, they've made bad decisions, but that's not something I would criticize them for.

All that said, it's not stopping modders from buying the DLC, as they've found ways to put the new moves and parts into 1.02.

Mod team made huge breakthroughs with 2.0 over the last couple weeks. Abunch of notable features such as freecam, Better Wrestler Organization, Rest Holds, etc. are already released, with Custom Moves, Custom Edit Parts, and Royal Rumble very likely for the next release.

They've also been able to add entrances to Yurakuaen Hall, similar to the GBA games.

Probably gonna end up buying the DLC now. As the mods plus NJPW content makes it the ultimate version of the game.

Though I'm still waiting on More Match Options and Ace's Extra Game Options before I update.

FYI, this isn’t like universe mode where you book storylines and rivalries. It’s more like a franchise mode in sports games. You still book cards but the idea is to financially beat the other promotions. Here’s a vid of the mode from the gba game.

The original plan was to just port it over as is. The recent delay was because the dev team wanted to improve it. That combined with the new audiences gives me hope that there is more new features. Because the original is pretty basic. Still, it’s probably best to temper expectations.

I haven’t started Fire Promoter properly yet as I have to get all my rosters in order, but I fired it up just to screw around. There are some limitations that people won’t like, but I don’t think they’ll affect my overall enjoyment of the mode very much. I’ll still get a lot out of it.

In the first month one of the women’s promotions I have signed Vader. That’s not going to end well for anyone. Except maybe Vader I guess.

I'm pretty addicted to Fire Promoter now. Keep saying "One more event" and two hours later Im still going.

Starting 6 for my promotion was Kenta Kobashi, Vader, Ibushi, Omega, Bull Nakano, and Asuka, and I've since signed Juice, Shingo, and G.O.D.

One of the cool things about Fire Pro are the cool little moments and stories, that can randomly and naturally occur in matches, and thats extended to this mode. Had Johnny Gargano ask to wrestle a match in my promotion, and one month later, Ciampa asked to perform. Very cool little coincidence there.

Meanwhile I'm all the way to November of my first year and Ibushi is still undefeated. Dude is a beast. Also has the highest average match ratings. He's a 100% machine.

Finished up the night by crowning my first tag champs. We're very progressive as you can see.

Decided to use AEW, but just like you do when you start with a new promotion you can only keep six wrestlers, so I went the realistic route and kept Kenny, Jericho, Hangman, Cody, and the Bucks which sent the rest of the roster into free agency.

I then used my one available free agent signing on PAC. I tried to invite Best Friends or SCU to work the Bucks but couldn’t get more than one member from either to commit. So I jostled the card around and ended up with:

-Masato, a game-generated Japanese guy I invited going over Chuck Taylor

-Hangman and Cody beating the Bucks for the AEW Tag titles

-Daniels over PAC

-Kenny over Jericho for the AEW title

 Every match got over 90% and the main got 100%, making it a killer first show.

And then I advance to February and get told my February event is going to be an interpromotional tournament with NXT!

FYI, if you hold L1 and L2 when choosing your difficulty and promotion size, you'll start with like 10 million and it removes the 6 wrestler start limitation

Yeah, it's nice to have the option, but I actually like the challenge of starting with some shit promotion with only 6 signed guys.

Also, the modpack offers some extra features like customizing titles and rings. Biggest feature is adding contract lengths, which adds a whole other level of depth to the mode.

Yeah, the more time passes the more I regret sinking money into the PS4 version. I mean I’m glad to support them but PC has so many more options and some of the great edits (like that amazing 1997-2001 WCW pack) still haven’t been ported to PS4 and at this point I kinda doubt it will.

I've recently gotten more into making my own original wrestlers. Like simming, it's one of those things that have been a big part of the community for decades, but I never really got into it til I tried it myself. Doing the TPWW tournament really made me realize how fun it is to create your own guys. Making an appearance, unique moveset, and even special sequences in priorities.

I've got plans for 4 different promotions of fictional characters, each one with a different style.

Brock Lesnar left Raw...so I paid him an expensive fee to come in for a show to do his favorite thing: work with smaller guys. In this case PAC because both of them work the Strong style. They had a killer 100% match with PAC going over :cool:

And then afterwards a bombshell dropped that Naito quit New Japan. I signed him immediately since his Showman style fits with my promotion. But I then got a note that wrestlers are now losing Trust in me, presumably because Naito's default contract is wayyyy more than everyone else on the roster.

But looking through the roster, only one guy is at a C trust level. Everyone else is at A or S. Does this mean S is bad? I kinda assumed S was a level higher than A simply because I have guys who have been killing it ascend to S popularity.

Or maybe I got that message because guys dropped from S to A, and if I don't pay them like I pay Naito it's only going to get worse?

Just started a new promoter save, starting with 4 of my original edits and 2 real life edits (Omega and Goto). One of the original edits uses the tpww Heisenberg edit as a base, and he’s gotten 100% at both events so far.

Ended up signing Ibushi and Yoshi-Hashi, and I’m probably gonna go for SHO next. Because Sho is fucking awesome. Invited Trent Seven to an event and he got a 100% with Yoshi, so I’ll probably snag him too.

At the 1 year mark and Kenny is still the AEW champ. At an A attack and defense he’s virtually impossible to beat in sim matches, doesn’t even need to use the OWA most of the time.

Kinda regretting my setup at the start of the mode. I had Raw, SD, NXT, etc maintain their entire rosters.....for some reason though I thought all of the guys from promotions I didn’t activate would be floating around in free agency, instead they’re all retired. So I have to keep re-booking the same people and since I need to give a few guys a show off due to worsening condition, I can’t ever book a large enough card to get into a bigger arena.

Most of the free agents are hidden at the start. You have to use scouting to unlock them. There are gym upgrades that can lessen the wear snd tear of your wrestlers between events.

As for Kenny you could always just go in and edit him...unless you used the default edit. Never a good idea. Spike isn’t very good at making edits. I made it a point to remake everyone when the njpw stuff dropped.

If I recall correctly omega was super OP. They had him at like 250 and he had a 35 pt skill. Most people don’t ever make edits over 200 points. And the 35 point skills should be used extremely sparingly. For monsters like Lesnar, or icons like Hogan.

My pillaging of SmackDown continues as AJ's morale was in the toilet so I convinced him to jump too.

Kenny needed a night off, so I held an 8-man tournament which in my mind was for #1 contendership. Put AJ in the 8th spot in the bracket and imagined in my head that he was a surprise debut. He ended up winning the thing, fittingly going over Orton in the finals. And then the next month he finally ended Kenny's title reign at 15 months.

lol so I uninstalled the game, unchecked Steam cloud saves, unsubscribes from all edits, uninstalled the game, full blown deleted all of the edits and the mods completely off my computer.

reinstalled, which of course is now a totally fresh copy of the game with only the SWA roster. menu was even in Japanese originally. and the menus seem fine.

then get into a match and it's still not working. 200x speed matches feel like slow motion.

k so after looking through the minimum specs, seems the issue is with a lack of vRAM. You need 512 MB of dedicated vRAM, my computer only has 32 MB because it's the default Intel graphics. can't be modified. can't change graphics settings in the BIOS, attempted to do the workaround to change the registry and that doesn't work either.

again, not a gaming PC and it's almost 7 years old. most of my games are text-based sports sims, or old GTAs so the outdated graphics were never a problem.

so yeah, it makes sense why the gameplay runs slow - but the question is why the hell did it work fine last year? I just tried 400 speed and it effectively feels like only slightly above normal speed. maybe I was playing on 400 speed last year and just forgot?

I'm a simmer first and foremost so I can probably just make due with this, but obviously need a graphics card or, more likely, just upgrade PC if I ever want to play newer stuff or get into emulators.

Yeah, out of all the awesome mods for the game (and there’s fucking loads of them at this point), custom moves has to be the best. If only because after a decade lack of new moves was the only thing that made it harder to play Returns over time. Could of played it forever but more and more guys missing signature moves got frustrating. This ensures World will always be up to date.

And they’ve gotten really good at it too. They’ve gone well beyond mixing existing animations, and into creating their own custom frames. Some moves consist almost entirely of custom frames.

For instance one guy made Kairi Sanes sliding elbow into the corner complete with angry stomps to the other side of the ring.

Another guy has been making fighting game moves that pretty much all custom frames. He even made a rocket punch ala Android 16.

He then followed up with another tweet saying they are also working on voice recordings for a “certain group” and that he’d share details in August.

So, sounds like they’ve got another promotion for dlc. I’m guessing it’s DDT, given they have a strong relationship with them. Hoping for Stardom though. We need more female edit parts in a big way.

Honestly they may as well keep pumping out DLC whenever possible including working with whatever other promotions they can. This might well be the last Fire Pro game ever so may as well just milk the DLC as long as they possibly can.

Except it costs money to get licensed content, and they had a low budget to start. It was something of a miracle they got New Japan in the first place. Now that the game has sold below expectations, it's yet another miracle we're getting anything else.

That's why it's probably DDT. They have a history and strong relationship with Fire Pro, so I could see them doing this at little cost to Spike/Chunsoft.

Weirdly, every time I load up the game I have to wait for it to download 282 edits, which is the number of wrestlers I had before my most recent purge where I tried to delete/uninstall everybody and cleared everything out of the cloud. But those wrestlers aren't actually in the game (I don't want them to be).

The only wrestlers I actually see are the ones I should - the in-game characters and the edits I've downloaded since the reboot which are the entire NJPW, AEW, and WWE rosters so that's already a pretty huge list. Gonna grab ROH next and then dig into historical edits.

Like 90% of my edits are from The Avenger so edit points are pretty evenly distributed, guys seem to mostly play the way they should.

Apparently will be $20. Which is interesting because the NJPW jr DLC had 13 wrestlers and was only $15. My guess is that even with less wrestlers included there’s going to be way more new parts. Which isn’t surprising given how elaborate joshi attires are. That May sprite up there has a ton of new stuff. 6 or 7 in the chest alone. Hopefully they double down on moves as well.

Arisa Hoshiki’s Brazillian kick is apparently in, and it took them 3 days to get it looking good. That was one of the moves I was really looking forward to, and I’m super hyped they spent so much time to get it right. The Brazillian kick that’s in the game now just isn’t good and barely different from a regular high kick. Arisa’s version has a DEEP snap into an overhead.

Yoshihiro Takayama Charity DLC – Part 2
This is the second charity DLC to support wrestler Yoshihiro Takayama with his rehabilitation. It contains TAKAYAMANIA-themed rings, team logos, and new edit wrestler parts (chest).

All Spike Chunsoft revenue will be donated to TAKAYAMANIA, a foundation established to help Mr. Takayama and his family.

The first charity DLC, released on December 18, 2017, has raised around 3,840,000 yen as of September 2019. Thank you for your contributions!

Parts Craft Mode / Move Craft Mode
We’ve done nearly everything we can do in terms of additional content, so the final step is to give you, the player, the tools to create your own. These modes allow you to make custom wrestler parts and wrestling moves.

These build-it-yourself modes mark the end of an era for Fire Pro. We’re using the time remaining to work on game balance, bug fixes, and improving the quality of the DLC.

Stardom pack 2 announced for March 5th. There will be 11 wrestlers in this pack. Tam Nakano shown off, along with a new corner to center knee strike. In the mean time, the Suda 51 dlc is set to land sometime in February.

I started a new promoter mode game a couple of weeks ago. Aside from the six game-generated wrestlers that were given to me, my roster resembles a lot of other upstart promotions: I book basically whatever remotely popular wrestlers WWE or other larger promotions jettison. But I'm putting on good shows, bringing in decent money considering I'm still running small venues.

Eventually Okada shockingly quits NJPW. I'd love to bring him in but one-event booking rate is like $200k which I simply can't afford. So I went a few months keeping costs down and only booking inexpensive talent that work the style of my promotion. I save up and try tempt Okada with a huge signing bonus and after a few months of courting him he finally agreed to come aboard, so I have a legit star now.

First night on the job, he ends up beating Fandango for the World Title in a match that somehow went 51 minutes and led to Fandango being hospitalized for six months.

I've started a tag tournament that is World Tag League meets Lethal Lottery. The participant pool consisted of 10 wrestlers from NJPW (2 per stable), 10 from AEW, 10 from NXT, and 10 from main roster WWE (5 Raw, 5 SmackDown). My Fire Pro Lethal Lottery tag tourney has yielded some great drama. I kinda winged the match order when I started because I didn't know who would win, but as the blocks started to wind down I tried to push off matchups to ensure a meaningful final day and it worked out brilliantly with 4 teams alive in each block on the final night.

A BLOCK: Rollins/Brodie control their destiny at 12 points. Win the main against Chris Jericho/Tomohiro Ishii and they win it all, simple enough. But Jericho/Ishii, Styles/MJF and Colt/Suzuki can all get to 12 points and everyone would need different tiebreakers. As far as I can tell a 4-way tie at 12 points actually puts Colt/Suzuki through since Seth/Brodie and Jericho/Ishii would be 1-2 in those matches and they've beaten Styles/MJF head to head.

B BLOCK: 4-way tie at 10 points. Keith Lee/WALTER face Adam Cole/Cody so somebody's getting 12 points there. But both teams need to root for help as Bryan/Ricochet have beaten them both, and ZSJ/Dunne have beaten all three of them. Adding to this is that ZSJ/Dunne beat all of those teams despite starting the tournament 0-3, they've stormed back.

ZSJ, Bryan, and Suzuki have been deadly in this tournament. Submission guys have a huge advantage once a match gets to around 20 minutes. A signature hold that late seems to be a near-instant tap with no opportunity for the opponent to break up the attempt.

i always limit holds and pin logic at that point to try and give a leg up to their finishes finishing the matches. Most of the scripted logic i put in is "after (finisher) --> pin" so late match its statistically likely to end on a finisher.

A BLOCK Final Day
Kota and Hangman were the biggest disappointments in the entire tourney and that continued into the final night against Gargano and Hiromu. Gargano pins Hangman with a rollup and Team Kenny Omega's Tag Partners finish with a block-low 4 points in the tourney.

Speaking of Kenny Omega, I thought saving him and Nakamura vs. Okada and Orton for the end would've been a slam dunk to be an important match, yet here they are going out second with nothing at stake. Okada got the best of his rival, pinning Kenny after a Rainmaker.

MJF and Styles failed to stay alive as they lost their final match to White and Thatcher. MJF unsuccessfully tried multiple times to lock in his armbar on Thatcher, only for Thatcher to slap on an armbar of his own for the tap and elimination

Suzuki and Cabana got the win over Jeff and Finn with Jeff tapping to Suzuki's leg lock. Again, submissions reign supreme. That gives them an impressive 12 points and sets up a potentially bizarre 3-way tie where if Jericho/Ishii win you would have three teams at 12 points all being 1-1 against each other. I'd guess the next tiebreaker after that is strength of victory or something? I dunno.

But it didn't matter, Brodie and Seth pick up the W in the main event with Brodie getting the discus lariat on Ishii to win the block outright at 14 points, match got a 100% rating.

B BLOCK Final Day
Poor Naito. B Block went into this having all of the World Champions (IWGP, AEW, WWE, Universal, NXT, NXT UK) and by the time this match got here not only was he no longer the champion in real life, he and Matt were at the bottom of the table. Opposing them, Mox and KENTA had gotten off to a great start only to slide down the table as it went on. Naito gets at least some measure of retribution, Destino on Mox for the win. Does this mean he gets an AEW title shot?

Ciampa/Owens vs. Kross/Archer is just a match for respect at this point, but it could possibly be a really fun brawl in real life. Anyway, the pace was a bit frantic at this one and KO puts Kross down with a Stunner.

Cole/Cody vs. WALTER/Keith Lee, one team guaranteed 12 points and to sit atop the block for the time being, and this was the match of the night. Numerous near falls and narrow pin breaks among everybody, the crowd was going into a frenzy by the end. Cody eventually gets Keith down with the Cross Rhodes and Team Undisputed Elite temporarily gets to be in the catbird seat.

Their elation did not last very long as Bryan and Ricochet faced off against Braun and Tanahashi. Seemed like Braun was going to put down his much smaller opponents with power moves but they were quick to force the break. Bryan moves out of the way of the High Fly Flow, slaps on the Yes Lock, tap out! Bryan and Ricochet join the 12 point club and move to the top spot.

ZSJ/Dunne vs. Escobar/McIntyre just a few shows ago seemed like it would be a meaningless match with neither team doing well in the standings, but the British duo's sudden winning streak had them controlling their own destiny heading into the final night and therefore getting the main event spot. For Escobar and McIntyre, it was all about playing spoiler. This was nowhere near the epic finale that A Block was. Escobar with a German suplex and flash pin on Dunne in about 10 minutes and holy shit, they squandered their chance to win the block!

Finals
Brodie Lee and Seth Rollins vs. Daniel Bryan and Ricochet. It wasn't quite at the level of the A Block final but it was very close, getting like a 97% rating. Again, lots of near falls and drama. I thought Bryan was going to make Seth tap to the Yes Lock multiple times but he held out. Ricochet hit a twisting senton on Brodie and Rollins was cut off from breaking the pin, but he kicked out at 2.999 seconds. Brodie levels Bryan with a lariat and the tournament win. Apparently if you want to win a tournament, you need to run a cult!

Doing a singles G1-style WWE tourney, had a few shows where the second and third to last matches were going a solid 15 and getting strong ratings only for the main to be like 6 minutes and get a 68% lol

As much as I enjoy the consistency, the one major gripe I have with Avenger's edit logic is that everyone who has a Superkick automatically goes for a pin straight after.

And when half the WWE roster does a Superkick, matches are inevitably gonna end earlier than I'd like.

He's got medium moves possible in small damage, and sometimes even big moves possible in small damage. Admittedly, there are a number of edit makers that do this, I think because it leads to reversals in the early goings. But in my experience the RNG can be lenient and big/medium moves can be successful more often than I'd like. Personally, I only give big/medium moves during small damage if I specifically want them to hit big moves early on. Guys like Brock and Vader.

In pinning he has percentages in critical damage. It's usually only 1 or 2 percent, but even that small percentage can lead to a great match ending in an armdrag or something. I can't think of any benefit for this.

Yeah, just playing with edits made by other people was fun. Thats what I did with X Premium and the GBA games. But the game really opened for me when I got into making my own edits in Returns and messing with the AI. That rabbit hole is deep, but extremely satisfying.

Then thanks to the TPWW tournament, I got into creating my own characters. That to me is peak Fire Pro. Creating an ineteresting character, giving them a unique moveset, and programming how they wrestle, all from scratch.

After another hiatus from the game I'm back into the realm of "found a bunch of new edits I like, but want to delete a shitload of old edits and clean things up"

As far as I can tell the old Mass Delete mod is still unsupported and therefore highly recommended to not use it without backing up your save. I did back up my save and tried anyway and yeah, unless I'm doing something wrong (followed the old instructions) it's totally kaput, doesn't delete anyone.

No way I'm sitting here deleting a couple hundred edits manually so in the meantime might just use the better wrestler organizer to shift everyone I don't want into an Old Edits promotion or retired or something.

Once I test out edits and find ones I prefer I try to avoid keeping more than one edit of the same wrestler, unless of course they are different "eras" or whatever for historical promotions etc

But all it takes is a couple months where I get hooked onto another game and put Fire Pro on ice for a bit, then eventually return to it and find loads of cool new edits and have to re-org.

One other suggestion. Sometimes you'll find an edit that has tons of custom parts and moves. I'll cherry pick some of them, download an edit of the same wrestler by avenger (that don't usually come with parts) make a copy, and apply the parts and moves to that edit. This keeps my save from getting bogged down with parts and moves that I may not necessarily need, and avoid the previously mentioned memory leaks.

Also as a rule, I always make a copy of the edits I download and then unsubscribe. This allows me to edit anything in their logic or moveset that I don't like, as well as update them with any new parts or moves that may hit the workshop.

Yeah my save was predominantly Avenger edits beforehand so I never had too much of an issue with parts and moves but even still he has about 900 parts/moves that got added over time.

So basically you might take an Avenger edit, jazz it up with some of the more complicated parts from another edit, but not download the seemingly mundane edit parts? Pretty good idea.

That's probably the main turnoff I have with the kradiation edits - his edits look amazing but all of them have like 30 parts all of which need to be downloaded separately, and he sources them from different creators.

Some moves have been carried over across multiple games, some are new, and some are custom made by the player base.

Also, I'm recording on an actual gaming rig now, so I'm sure thats a factor as well.
