Yeah... I mean, there aren't many women put in a spot right now that could believably do it, sure.

But I think Asuka tapping out within 15 seconds of the Figure 8 to end a nearly 3 year streak is kind of absurd. Like Samoa Joe getting dropped by a single F-5 after 3 minutes with Brock.

There's definitely something to be said for protecting finishers, and I know Destor and I have gone back and forth about that a couple of times, but I think to put some drama on a streak surviving on the biggest show of the year, you can pop in an escape or kickout a time or two in that match and have it help both talents.

Having Asuka tap out that quick and then congratulate Charlotte and shit afterwards just feels like a super contrived attempt to underscore for the tenth time that Charlotte's the chosen one.

So the entire point of building Asuka for 2 and 1/2 years, tapping out girls left and right, nobody could beat her, nobody in the NXT could beat her, nobody on Raw could beat her, it was all to put Charlotte over.
