I'm going into this with an open mind. I'm also comparing it to WWE's shit product lately. I'm not expecting the greatest thing ever from AEW. But i do expect a ground level for which a product can be built on the TNT channel.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Goldust will soon be a free agent.


Multiple sources tell us Goldust’s WWE contract recently expired and he’s currently waiting for the 90-day no-compete portion of his agreement to run out before becoming a free agent.

As many fans noticed, the wrestler recently removed all mentions of WWE from social media.

It’s unclear when the deal expired exactly, but we’re told he should be free in May.

On the latest “Road to Double or Nothing” video, there was a big tease for Goldust aka Dustin Rhodes as Cody’s opponent at the upcoming AEW event in Las Vegas. Cody is shown talking to his seamstress, who randomly asks if she should stay away from Gold.

Dave Meltzer reported in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Goldust had requested his release on January 19th and was granted it by WWE officials shortly afterwards. Meltzer also reported that Goldust was issued a standard 90-day non-compete clause as part of the terms of his release, which reportedly ended on April 19th.

Within the company, Meltzer reported that Vince McMahon was initially against the idea of granting Goldust’s release but was convinced by Triple H to allow him to leave early. Meltzer also reported that WWE had the option to freeze Goldust’s contract for an additional eight months for missed time due to his recent injury but chose not to exercise it.
