In a blockbuster edition of 205 Live, Ikemen Jiro and Ari Sterling will each make their WWE debut.

Jiro will team with August Grey in what should be a spirited tag team bout against self-proclaimed 205 Live OGs Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari, who have made no bones about their disdain for fresh-faced Cruiserweights.

The Persian Lion has taken a particular interest in The Life of the Party in recent weeks, seemingly attempting to corrupt him ever since Grey broke the rules by using the ropes for leverage to claim a win against Daivari. Since then, Daivari has done everything in his power to convince Grey to take shortcuts on a more routine basis.

Grey, however, has stayed true to himself, and he’s set to join forces with Jiro, a wildly eccentric competitor known for his fun-loving, flashy personality.

Sterling is set for a one-on-one clash with 205 Live pillar and former 24/7 Champion Samir Singh.

He might be new to the purple brand, but Sterling is anything but a rookie in the sports-entertainment landscape; the newcomer made a name for himself on the independent scene with his jaw-dropping arsenal of aerial attacks that must be seen to be believed.

Will Jiro and/or Sterling come away with a victory in their first appearance on the purple brand? Find out by tuning in to 205 Live, streaming Friday at 10/9 C on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else!

Guess Reigns is feuding with Rollins next since one of the Usos attacked him during the match. Poor Jimmy, first day as part of the Reigns family and he's probably getting kicked out soon via his dumbness.

Austin vs. Booker T supermarket brawl is still one of my favorite all-time moments from SD.

WWE's done a way better effort when it comes to doing throwback-like shows for RAW than what SD's throwback show has been so far.

The Natty, Tamina, Nia, & Shayna streak in recent weeks finally got snapped and the reward was a nothing Carmella vs. Ruby match.

Reigns & Usos promo and Cesaro wrecking them all afterwards was great.

This week's "throwback" show was somewhere in between average and pretty good. Probably the weakest throwback style show WWE has ever done in terms of effort but at the same time it did avoid the big problem where the Legends and former wrestlers just overshadow the current guys.

Only stuff really worth watching was the Ceasro vs. Rollins match and the ending stuff with Reigns since the throwback videos are stuff you can easily find elsewhere.

According to Ringside News and later confirmed by the Observer, Triple H's has been getting more hands-on with SmackDown in recent weeks.

Him and NXT lead writer Dave Kapoor played a big role in the production of last week's Throwback show since Bruce Prichard is currently on vacation and SD's lead writer wasn't around backstage.

205 Live is set to play host to a pair of intriguing “old guard vs. new guard” matchups this week, as Asher Hale is primed to throw down with Ariya Daivari, while Ari Sterling will tangle with Tony Nese.

In a potentially volatile clash, Hale will debut on the purple brand against the self-proclaimed “205 Live OG.”

If his past actions are any indication, Daivari Dinero is certain to hold the newcomer in contempt, as he and Nese have joined forces over the last several months with the main purpose of making life as difficult as possible for rookies.

Hale has been competing on the independent scene for several years, but he’s ready to take on the best Cruiserweights in the world and is looking to call 205 Live his new home.

Speaking of newcomers, Sterling dazzled the WWE Universe during his debut match against Samir Singh last week, blitzing the former 24/7 Champion with a dizzying arsenal and taking to the skies on several occasions to earn the win.

Sterling has every intention of going 2-0 on the purple brand, but to accomplish his goal, he’ll have to knock off a decorated veteran and former Cruiserweight Champion in Nese, who dislikes rookies every bit as much as his partner does.

Jimmy Uso vs. Cesaro was pretty good despite the DQ finish.

Whelp can scratch off Cesaro's name from the potential winners list at Mania Backlash since he just got hit with the WWE PPV go-home curse the moment he managed to beat up Reigns and both Usos almost with ease to close out the show.

This week's Mania Backlash go-home show was enjoyable and a way better effort than what RAW did earlier this week.

Several rookies are primed for the spotlight on this Friday’s 205 Live, as Ikemen Jiro will join forces with August Grey to battle The Bollywood Boyz, while rookies Ari Sterling and Asher Hale will meet in what should be a spirited singles clash.

Even after just one match together, Jiro and Grey seem like they were born to be tag team partners, as each Superstar seemingly relishes the chance to compete against some of the best Cruiserweights in the world and do so with a considerable amount of pizazz.

In fact, when the duo defeated Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari in Jiro’s debut match, the eccentric newcomer never removed his flashy yellow jacket, and he and The Life of the Party left the WWE Universe clamoring for more.

Asher Hale to battle Tony Nese

Asher Hale, who recently accomplished his goal of making it to WWE after a 14-year trek, has turned some heads early in his purple brand tenure. Following an extremely intense battle against Ari Sterling last week, in which he came up just short, the rebellious Superstar has an opportunity get back in the win column with a one-on-one matchup against Tony Nese.

Never one to hide his disdain for rookies, Nese seems certain to be in a foul mood when he locks horns with the exciting Hale. Will Hale be able to overcome the events of last week or will The Premier Athlete come away with the win.

Ari Sterling to take on Ariya Daivari

Ari Sterling is still getting acclimated to being a member of the WWE 205 Live roster. Although he defeated Asher Hale last week, the week before that Sterling came up short against 205 Live OG Tony Nese. Now Sterling has another opportunity with an OG in Ariya Daivari.

In a clash of styles, Daivari’s ground and pound offense will go head-to-head against The Sauce’s aerial assault. The Persian Lion, who has endured a recent losing streak, has yet to meet a fresh face that he didn’t despise, and that trend seems likely to continue when he collides with Sterling.

Luigi's streak of his name being uttered during a WWE show lives on.

If things continue, only a matter of time before people will be saying someone is the "Luigi" of a tag team instead of being the "Jannety."

Been noticing that Pat McAfee has the same habit Mauro Ranallo used to have when it came to calling NXT shows.

While someone like Cole is always sitting during matches and is more mellow in his movements, McAfee is a lot more energetic and likes to hop out of his seat a lot whenever he sees something interesting happens in the ring.

Like a good part of this Usos vs. Street Profits match is just him standing and swaying around while he calls some of the action.

First time Riott Squad is wrestling as a team since Mania 37 and first time on SD since late February according to Cagematch.com

If this were AEW: This is going to be used to build up a Dominick/Rey program. Roman is being set up to drop the title to the next star down the line. They’re getting him being dominant over. And it’s totally smart to do a Hell in a Cell match on TV since they get all their revenue from TV.
