Finishing this up since the hokey skits put me to sleep last night.

I feel like they're pushing this Toxic Attraction stuff way too hard, but Gigi Dolin is quite nice to look at. Mandy Rose as NXT Champion is wildly laughable though. And Jacy Jayne is...underprepared.

I say this every time I watch him wrestle but Wes Lee is great. Always smooth as hell.

Imperium just seems so meh without WALTER. They're phenomenal wrestlers, but they bore me.

Breakker vs. Ciampa was pretty good. Bron has the IT Factor. 144 2/3% chance that he's a star. Loved seeing him bust out some old school Uncle Scott shit. Feels like it was a star making performance. Ciampa is a great guy to be this gatekeeper champion, he works rather well with everyone.

Yes I do think so, the 60 extra days really cools off any eventual debut. Black showing up after 30 days made more of an impact than anybody who came in after having to wait 90 days.

The Cruiserweight Championship has been basically deadweight since they did Devlin vs. Escobar and in most people's opinions it was dead far before that. I've been enjoying the Cameron Grimes character arc as of late, and really hope he captures the North American Championship soon. Also that he has a nice long reign with it, as long as they actually make him a fighting champion and not another one who basically never defends it on free TV.

He’s infinitely more interesting in this role. Ciampa vs Ziggler should be good and actually has me interested in a Ziggler match for the first time in a long time. It’s a shame he’s still appearing on Raw but they’re smart to try and cross-promote. They should cycle more guys in from time to time.

That whole brand has so many talented people but it gets no attention at all. I wish they'd run it like an actual promotion, rename it WWE UK or figure out a catchy name for it. And legit run a promotion in the UK, hire some of the stars that were fired like Windham or whoever wants to work in the UK and build a legit promotion based in the UK, TV rights the whole deal.

Well theres questions as to how legit the claims are. Kimber Lee is not the most credible person, out there, and has at times even seemed a bit coocoo for cocoa puffs.

I will say that those close to Nash defending him are arguing things that don't actually prove his innocence. So he served her with divorce papers. Does that mean an allegation of abuse that comes after must be untrue?

Others are pointing to her releasing the Hitler picture as proof she is unreliable, but they are unrelated. All it proves is Nash thought it was fine to take a picture doing a Nazi salute and Kimber sought fit to release the pictures. It has zero influence on her claim.

She can both be upset/vindictive and also be the victim of domestic violence. It is painfully obvious they are trying to paint Kimber Lee as erratic and unstable in order to discredit her claim. But unstable and erratic people can still be victims of domestic violence.

I'm not saying abuse did or didn't happen. But so much of the internet just jumps to assumptions about shit none of us were there to see.

Also, not surprised but disappointed by the main event. Where is Grimes supposed to go from here? Watched Great American Bash finally. Breakker vs. Grimes was good. I think Grimes deserves a run with the belt though. Jordan Devlin coming right into the championship scene is exciting. He's very, very talented.

I don't think I could watch this show every week any more though. All of the backstage vignettes were awful. Them breaking up Cora Jade and Roxanne after a week is ridiculous. The NXT Women's division was the best in the world a couple of years ago and a feud like that would have been a Takeover match with some excellent build and rightfully so.

Carmelo Hayes is always the standout on these shows for me. The Creeds are great wrestlers too. NXT overall right now is really a mixed bag.

I get why they abandoned the original Triple H method. It was never going to be able to win over the hardcore audience away from AEW. I also understand why focusing on developmental guys with a main roster future makes sense. But there is definitely more of a middle ground than going all the way with green talent against green talent (most of the time).

There are plenty of veterans and player/coaches you can use. And you can get away with having top feuds between two wrestlers with years of experience in the business. The winning recipe could be pushing your Creeds and Cora Jades while also having matches between Timothy Thatcher and Oney Lorcan.

The athleticism on display in NXT is pretty amazing in general. If you’re a fan of guys tumbling and flipping around, the stuff you see is probably comparable to AEW. It’s not a high benchmark, but you could replace The Young Bucks with two NXT guys and it would be an improvement. The WWE going after A-grade college athletes and teaching them to do the indy stuff is probably going to edge out AEW in time.

The women acts in NXT are green as hell. There’s so much awkward ass swivelling for no reason. It’s so fucking obnoxious and their ring style is so sloppy and too fast for them to keep up with. Toxic Attraction are too much. Katana Chance & Kayden Carter are obnoxious. Ivy Nile’s got something, but needs veterans to work with. Tatum Paxley cannot control her hair. The person who impressed me the most in the ring was Yulisa Leon. She’s fucking got something. Her partner, Valentina Feroz less so.

Triple H really needs to get in there and tighten this shit up. A lot of the women looked too rehearsed, too overwhelmed, were going too fast. It’d be the perfect time for a group of experienced women to come into NXT and try to “take it over.” They could all use some gimmick refinements. But he basically got it started with Paige, Emma and Summer Rae, etc.

I zoned out during Carmelo Hayes’ open challenge. I began thinking about a fly buzzing around the room. Not a good sign. Hayes and Williams were too rehearsed. Hayes reminds me of an X-Division act from TNA. Giovanni Vinci reminds me of what would happen if you gave Cesaro Chris Masters’ gimmick. It was kind of funny to see Nathan Frazer steal the slot from him.

The match itself was mindless flips and way too choreographed. This is the second match in a row that feels like it could be from AEW.

The crowd goes nuts for these people because they know them and are willing them forward. This was an issue going way back to the start of NXT. It gives a completely false read.

I will say that Trick Williams does his job well at ringside. He’ll probably pick up lots he can use from doing that.

The Dyad is fucking hilarious. I don’t know who the other two guys with Joe Gacy are, but they are perfect. They would fit on an episode of Always Sunny as incest siblings.

JD McDonagh is a great performer. He reminds me of a better talking Finn Balor. He looks painfully small, but that seems to be his gimmick. There’s conviction in what he’s doing. The same with Bron Breakker. The drama around JD poking himself with a pen was accidentally comical though. Easily the best thing on the show so far though. They’ve kicked it up a notch.

McDonagh needs muscle in his corner. Trick Williams would actually be good. He could betray Hayes against Giovanni Vinci and then Hayes can move up and Vinci and McDonagh can have a loose alliance with Williams backing them up. Just throwing out ideas.

Toxic Attraction are horrid. That’s a Vince/Bruce idea that needs to die. Mandy Rose is terrible in the ring. This match with Sarray sucks.

Mandy Rose should be a valet on the main roster for Alpha Academy. That would be a fine spot. She can work Raw house shows. Gigi Dolin can get a sexpot gimmick. Jacy Jayne can get something else. They all need to be refined so badly.

Even if NXT sees the same changes that Raw is getting, it will take a lot longer for it to improve, due to the inexperience of its roster.

There’s no reason they can’t switch in some more experienced talent. Young guys constantly facing young guys isn’t as exciting. And the moves are good. I’m not someone who really judges on that. It’s more that their sequences are so rehearsed. It’s not like they need to run more drills. They need to get better at organically working and making things look authentic.

Mandy Rose is just…not compelling in the ring. She kinda looks like Trish Stratus at times, but she just isn’t dynamic. She should lose the belt to Zoey Stark and then move into a different role. I’d consider making her the valet of Alpha Academy, but you could split Toxic Attraction in NXT and try and have them feud.

The Creed Brothers are fucking great. Julius in particular gives me top star vibes. There’s something John Cena about him, except he’s got that amateur background. I can see him being a World Champion in WWE. Brutus Creed has got something too, but it’s more “character-based.” I can see him and Damon Kemp becoming a legendary team while their brothers are pushed more as singles. But they’ll all have great careers (I hope).

Can we please get Timothy Thatcher & Hideki Suzuki in to work with these teams?

Ashton Smith being let go whilst injured is harsh I think. Dave is a good guy, I hope he finds himself back on the local scene. Webster had talked about wanting to leave, Mark Andrews had been stuck with nothing since his tag team broke up.
Sha Samuels is a good comedy character, he would have made a good tag team with Noam Dar.

I know a few of those guys are in no position at the moment to move over to the USA for personal reasons so this may have played a hand in the decisions too.

Some suggested changes for NXT:

* The 24/7 division guys could help out the shows there. Akira Tozawa and Reggie would fit right in, as would Dana Brooke and Tamina, giving it an “NXT Redemption” kind of vibe.

* Paul Heyman should try and recruit Solo Sikoa for The Bloodline. Sikoa knocks the deal back so Heyman puts a bounty on Sikoa’s head. Good story for a top face that isn’t Bron Breakker.

* Timothy Thatcher & Hideki Suzuki against The Creed Brothers, pls.

* Tyler Breeze & Fandango to return and feud with Pretty Deadly for a snippet. Then Fandango “snaps” because this is his last chance to become the biggest mainstream star in professional wrestling history. The feud ends up involving Shawn Michaels due to Rockers split similarities.

* Julius Creed should win won sort of breakout tournament at some point. Brutus Creed & Damon Kemp can become the team.

* Do the Cruiserweight Classic but as a tournament within the confines of NXT. Include main roster guys that fit the weight limit — Rey Mysterio, Ricochet, etc.

* Have a bunch of Attitude era wrestlers who are still working crash NXT as a disgruntled veterans’ union. Scotty 2 Hotty, The Headbangers, Tajiri, 2 Cold Scorpio — I’m sure there are more names out there.

* Axelmania needs to run wild.

* If you re-hire Bray Wyatt, NXT is the place for him, and the group should be him, Bo Dallas and Erick Rowan. Have the story be he’s purposely trying to affect the future of wrestling.

* A lot of the SmackDown women can be moved back to NXT too. Shotzi & Aliyah immediately come to mind.

The problem is that costs money and you need people to buy tickets. The fans are stretched out as it is. I think Triple H wants to boost NXT, but it’s a balancing act between making it important and sinking too much into it.
