First week in charge of the brand and Vince is already screwing around with the script hours before the start of tonight's show according to PWI.

Guess that makes NXT an official main roster brand now going by that standard.

Here are some notes from tonight’s “NXT 2.0” relaunch episode, according to PWInsider:

PWInsider says that “going forward, everything will be described as ‘NXT 2.0’ on camera” and WWE wants to emphasize hard that this is a new version of NXT.
The Capitol Wrestling Center name will no longer be used for the show’s venue. PWInsider says that the current plan is to simply refer to it as “the home of NXT.” The venue has reportedly gotten a major revamp.
Kevin Dunn is at the show tonight to personally oversee the broadcast.
Triple H is not there because he’s still out due to the heart procedure that he recently underwent.
The atmosphere has been described by some wrestlers as “weird.”
The show’s script changed several times during the day.



Also shouldn't it be NXT 3.0 or 4.0 depending on how you view the move to USA Network.

They weren't joking when they said it would look like a scaled down main roster set and venue.

Basically getting rid of the intimate but very smallish feeling NXT's venue used to have for something more generic/sterile but livelier and bigger for TV in terms of visual. Like going from a small bingo hall or club to a gym for wrestling shows in terms of visual jump.

Saw a few reports Pete Dunne just signed a new 3 year deal. That and him being only 27 seems like the most fitting choice in Vince's eyes.
Knight is the best on the mic but also the oldest.
Ciampa was a great heel champion, but doesnt have that edge as a babyface.
Kyle should have momentum after winning his fued with Cole, but Cole in AEW means he just got the favor from a guy on his way out.

My guess barring a surprise entrant is Pete Dunne.

Haven’t watched the whole show, but I’m glad NXT is getting away from indy, indy, indy. Moving towards something like OVW is going to do wonders for it, I think. It’ll actually be different and you might get some guys coming up that may work on the main roster. I just hope it doesn’t get too much like Raw. Just a development wrestling show, please.

The age of some of these guys is phenomenal. Steiner is 24. Buchanan is apparently like 20.

I think youth has been something missing from wrestling. Guys like Kenny Omega might not seem old to many of us, but I guarantee that there are kids, teenagers and people in their early 20’s that see him as ancient.

Just having this younger roster is probably going to help the audience grow and skew younger. Daniel Vidot is in his 30’s now, but if he’s solid enough, he might be Australia’s greatest contribution to wrestling.

NXT was awesome. Not the best episode of television ever, by any stretch of the imagination, but so smart in how it set stuff up and executed it.

Lots of young faces. And NXT, now that it may have some continuity with the main roster, might be able to start trialling the people they actually want as stars as stars in that ecosystem. Some of these dudes are already interesting enough to flesh out the main roster. It wouldn’t surprise me to see The Creed Brothers and Bron Breakker on the main roster even before WrestleMania. Young acts are going to attract young viewers. And it’s not always about going out and having Observer five star matches. Simple, smart execution.

I can see this show overtaking Dynamite in time. Not that that’s even the goal right now, but there was so much that was interesting on the show. And it actually feels like NXT might be a glimpse into the future that Triple H’s boutique product just couldn’t offer.

Even the comedy was well done. If they go more organic with promos (and they had some personalities on this show), and the stories don’t get too silly — they’re onto a winning formula in my opinion.

It feels a bit like OVW or even Smoky Mountain. Not exactly, but in that NXT circa 2013/2014 way. I hope they use main roster talent. I used to love it when you’d get a Aiden English vs. Sheamus or Rob Van Dam. They can sprinkle that sort of stuff in and make it a much more exciting show then it has been since it kind of got stale in 2015.

For some reference, even with the new spacing, the venue still only holds under 300 people as its max. Last week's show was around 280 according to the Observer Newsletter.

Yeah these next couple of months are going to be rough if last week and this week's show is any indication. Also the reports of them already changing direction again in terms of going more edgy with content to combat AEW.

For those that collect wrestling trading cards, Topps might have accidentally spoiled at least one major draft pick for this year's WWE Draft based on their newest batch of WWE cards.

At least one major star from NXT is currently rumored to be heading to the Blue brand and a potential spoiler for one of the title matches on next week's show.

Io Shirai's newest card from Topps has her listed as a SmackDown brand talent.

Her and Zoey Stark are defending their NXT Women's Tag belts against Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne next week.

Probably but all depends on if you view NXT going to USA Network as its own era or just a continuation of WWE Network era.

Its at least 3.0 as a minimum but I've seen others go as high as 5.0-7.0 because they split up WWE Network and USA into its own eras and also split up WWE Network into 2-3 other eras based on NXT's shift & focus towards indies guys or key people groups.

Personally, I'd go with 4.0 mainly because NXT's move to USA Network was a big shift on how the brand was run compared to Network era.
