Overall this was still one of AEW's best PPV's. It's too long to watch in one sitting ever again probably, but it would be a fun show to rewatch down the line if you had the time. Maybe if you had the flu or Covid and had to stay in a single room for a week or so. But for me personally I've already committed myself to watching the entire Harry Potter series if I get sick and have to a stay in a room for a long time. I've never seen any of them so I don't know what I'm missing. But if after the first Harry Potter film I was like "eh idk if this series is for me"? Then I could probably rewatch this DON 2022 show.

Can we all remember the utter chaos and genius of Anarchy in the Arena? So many elements of so many good things. It reminds of New Jack's ECW brawls with the theme song playing throughout, it felt like the Chicago Street fight at Mania 13, it harken back to early AEW brawls that went to the merch area like Cody and friends vs Inner Circle....
And just all the intensity from the standouts like Jericho, Mox, and Danielson. Even Hager was great. That match was a classic, totally crazy.

I just want to comment on how half assed and shitty looking the stretcher job was. They could have just put him on the gurney and hauled him off like that and I'd be ok with it (like they did with most of Sid's jobbers, right before Sid attacked them again and knocked them off the gurney.) They could have gone the full route with the backboard and the strapping him in and all that and I'd be ok with it.

But no. Tony went halfway, and it looked awful. oxygen over the man's eyes, a neckbrace but he was clearly leaning his head backwards, etc.

Meh @ CM Punk as champ. Much prefer Hangman, although at least now the world title will actually be presented as the main storyline and not an afterthought. Hope they keep Hangman v Punk going and they actually trade the title a couple of times. The one and done championship reigns are a little predictable.

Tag trio was great. The matching attire for all the teams made it seem more legit. Was expecting Jurassic Express to lose and Christian to turn on Jungle Boy for losing a few high profile matches of late. Happy they won in the end though, they’re a more legit team than the other two and are having a really good reign.

Didn’t really care about either womens title matches so skipped through them a fair bit. “Athena” v small. Not a very exciting debut. Statlander should be going against Jade next.

Skipped most of the Owen Hart stuff. Adam Cole is “change the channel” bad for me so given how much exposure he gets, a lot of AEW has been skipped recently. Watched bits of Brit vs Ruby but with Brit acting a bit like a face… I feel like they might end up doing a couples feud against Sammy and Tay… Sammy is also “change the channel” bad. Not sure if that might be a benefit though since I’ll only have to skip through the one segment a week if Cole and Sammy are combined

Why did Kyle O’Riley beat Darby? Another boring guy. Darby is one of the best they have and should be getting occasional main event feuds. Hoping he had a mini feud against Punk for the title at some point.

Jerichos stable vs Regal’s stable was great but such a waste of Jericho, Danielson and Moxley. Just because those guys are in stables does mean they have to do nothing but multi man matches. Jerichos added the three biggest jobbers in the company in 2.0 and Danie Garcia to his stable and they’re suddenly good enough for a PPV match involving Mox and Danielson? They should be nothing more than lackeys.

Dunno about O'reilly's personality, but I love watching his matches. His style feels different, even among other strikers and submission guys.

Same goes for Malakai Black. He needs to move onto a big feud now. I get why the feud with death triangle was dragged out, with the injury to Fenix, but it’s killed most of his momentum. He needs to move straight into a 1 v 1 feud now against a big name and the rest of house of black can back him up. Instead it’ll prob be another Trios feud though. Probably against Best Friends.

The trios match was great though. Taking nothing away from that. Just want some of these guys in stables to have big singles feuds, with the rest of the stable eating up matches on the weekly shows to build to the big ppv match.

Oh yeah, Wardlow very good. Fully anticipate people getting sick of him though when he has longer matches since he can’t just powerbomb people for like 30 mins. I mean he could… that’d be sweet. But not sure everyone would agree.

Is MJF leaving? A massive shame if he does. No MJF, no Cody, no Omega, no Miro. Lots of reasons I enjoyed AEW missing. Damn.
