No no, this has nothing to do with Calgary or Tampa. Let's rejoice and laugh at both Ottawa and Dominik Hasek. You will feel much better afterwards. I did. <3

Hasek is a head case, but if he stays focused he could be a huge asset to the Senators chances of winning/being a true cup contender.

I do believe they're are better choices available. By better I guess I mean stabler. Hasek is such an enigma, not something Ottawa should be gambling on at this critical time in their teams developments.

They'll either look like idiots for going after him and failing, or geniuses for plucking him and winning. Not much room for middle ground IMO.

Hasek has fallen down ever since the 99 Cup Finals. He won the Cup in 02 but still he has fallen from what he was in 99

It cant hurt, they weren't going to win with Lalime or Emery or Prusek in the next 2 or 3 years, so why not take a shot with someone who was the best goalie in the world for many years?

I liked Lalime, but meh.

Anyway, nice to see you again RDD

i'm not really a big fan of hasek but i don't think they're any worse off having hasek instead of lalime, plus he's got more upside. i think last year was just sort of an off year with hasek and i think he'll have something to prove and play for this year, without the added distraction of last years three ring goalie circus in detroit. bit of a gamble but one worth taking i think.

Prusek isn't a bad goalie either and probably would have taken over for Lalime at some point this year, so it's not a bad move in my books.

I loved Lalime in Ottawa, he was probably my favorite goalie the last few seasons. I've liked him ever since his rookie days with the Pens when he was amazing.

I've never really been a Hasek fan, so that combined with the firing of my Memorial Cup winning coach Martin has made me less of an Ottawa fan. :nono:

They could have just gone for Weekes

That would have been cool, Weekes in Ottawa. Weekes and Storr are a couple of my favorite active goaltenders due to their OHL days with my Uncle's team.

I doubt he ever plays for them.

It's a one year deal, the CBA is gonna stop the season, and Hasek is what? 53

If there's only half a season, maybe the Ducks can win the cup. :shifty:
