Pretty much, they may pull a move like they did last year. Have someone like Jericho win and go to SD.

I would put my early money on Orton, I don't think that Cena will be main eventing THIS years WrestleMania...just my prediction...

MY hope and dream would be Jericho winning, and taking the title off of Triple H...only no Stephanie this time around...

I sense Orton winning it at this moment.

Orton would be logical in the same fashion as Benoit earlier this year. (You know, enter first, get the crap beat out of you but still win).

However, someone like Jericho or Cena to challenge for the WWE ttle on SD, having Jericho jump ship, would clear the way for an Orton title chase, like Austin in '99.

But this is WWE, so expect Orton in about number 12 and winning by throwing out someone like RVD.

Smackdown: Kurt Angle

i reckon in the months leading up to the rumble, orton is going to be denied a title shot by HHH continuely. this then leads to orton winning the rumble and thus HHH having no way of stopping him having his title shot. and hopefully they'll build it up the right way by not having them in the ring together and really make it to be a good build up.

of course i'd equally like jericho to win but personally i can see him in the title match at the rumble. hopefully as champion as well. then again i'd mark the fuck out if lesnar made a surprise return to the rumble that wasnt leaked etc. now that would be shocking!!

Well it depends which show has the Main Event for Mania.

If Smackdown gets it, then I see Cena. Maybe Taker, but with the way the WWE has been lately in pushing the young guys, who are over, really quickly, then I wouldn't be surprised if it was Cena.

If Raw, then Orton. Orton-HHH Mania.

The Undertaker seems to be a likely choice. Kurt Angle vs. The Undertaker at WrestleMania 21 seems to be what a lot of sources are saying is likely. Randy Orton another guy that I would assume is right up there. I hope they don't give it to Orton, though, as that is WAY too predictable. I would like to see Orton lose the Rumble, then have him really get personal with Triple H, and have a lot of heat thrown into the feud. This leads to Triple H actually wanting to face Orton at Mania. I think that would be a better route to take.

I personally would like to see Kane or Chris Jericho win, though. Two longshot guys on RAW that have always been there, but never been there (if you get what I mean). Winning the Rumble would be a great way to bring Kane back (especially if he entered #1 and dominated the entire match). Kane could then either go to Smackers and challenge The Undertaker or Kurt Angle at WrestleMania (maybe in a Triple Threat or Fatal Fourway with Eddie Guerrero or JBL) or stay on RAW and challenge Triple H, which would be a great way to put the World Heavyweight Championship on Kane.

If Jericho won, I'd love to see him jump over to SmackDown! and win the title from Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 21. Then he can feud with Eddie Guerrero, and eventually The Undertaker & JBL.

Shawn Michaels is another guy I can see winning and jumping ship, and for some reason I can see Gene Snitsky winning, but not getting a title shot due to a "more desired" match with Kane at Mania.

Really needs to be A Raw superstar to win this time.

Currently it's Smackdown 2 - 0 Raw in Royal rumbles. Even though Benoit moved to raw the next night he was a Smackdown wrestler when he won it so i classify it as a Smackdown Voctory.

Anyway Randy is definatly the best choice to win... making Randy and Cena the final 2 in the Rumble would be awesome.

I hate how the Rumble is done now. Maybe it shouldn't mean anything any more, and just be a one time honour, like KOTR used to be.

I hate how the Rumble is done now. Maybe it shouldn't mean anything any more, and just be a one time honour, like KOTR used to be.

They've become way to predictable. Just out of curiosity who was the favourite in the 2001 Royal Rumble. I remember thinking ti could go anyway (I was a new fan, though). I could've seen Rikishi winning it, and then losing it to say Undertaker in a match on RAW. I also think Undertaker or Austin were the favourites. I standby my decision to say Kane should've won the match.

But anyway, if you couldn't tell who would win the 2002, 2003 & 2004 Royal Rumbles, you were thinknig too hard about it. I feel they will do the same thing this year. I don't see why they don't start hyping the Rumble after Survivor Series and have it look like it means something to all the major stars. Maybe even have The Rock come back and hype it (and maybe appear in it)? I can see RAW having a weekly Battle Royal, with almost a different guy winning it every week. I'd like to see a match at New Year's Revolution or Armageddon determine who is entering #30. Seriosuly, if they push Edge, Michaels, Jericho, Kane, Snitsky, Batista, Randy Orton, John Cena, Carlito Caribbean Cool, Kurt Angle, Luther Reigns, Mark Jindrak, Maven, The Undertaker, Eugene Dinsmore, William Regal, The A-Train, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas, Christian, Tyson Tomko, The Rock, Rhyno, Tajiri, Simon Dean, Paul London, Billy Kidman, Spike Dudley, Hardcore Holly & Heidenreich as the thirty, I seriously think this PPV would be really unpredictable. Actually swap say Tajiri with The Big Show.

A guy doesn't need to win the Rumble to look good, and I don't think it should be something awarded to younger guys. The WrestleMania shot should be given to a guy that's old enough to appreciate what it means to win. A guy like John Cena & Randy Orton should be possible winners in say three winners. Guys like Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho & Kane should be who is considered for the big win. The Undertaker is a guy who would really appreciate winning the 2005 Royal Rumble, IMO. Even Mick Foley should have more of a shot than say John Cena. Not that Cena isn't any good, I'm just saying, the Rumble shouldn't be used to elevate a guy. At least not every year. It should take an over wrestler, say thank you for your long time hard work, put them into the Mania main event and give them something to really get them started on a good year with the company, as maybe its major star.

Orton or Cena. Hell, they might even pull a RR 1994 and make both of them go over the ropes at the same time and hit the ground, thus allowing them to have 2 #1 contenders for RAW and Smackdown.

I agree, it'll come down to Orton & Cena - they've already sown the seeds for these two to meet somewhere down the line, what with the showdown at Summerslam and the hyping of it on the front cover of the new SD game. Wouldn't mid seeing Cena vs Orton at WM though, if they went ahead with a Raw vs Smackdown theme for it.

Orton, Kurt Angle or John Cena may be the ones. I don't know

I havent said Orton because I think it would be too predictable.

Last year, I tipped Benoit. I wasn't 100% behind him to win, but then, I wasnt watching wrestling all that closely.
Year before, it had to be Lesner
Year before, HHH won it right...i forget...but he was being mega pushed after coming back from his dodgy calf.

Thats why this year i have tipped Booker T or Big Show.
There might be an outside chance that booker T or big show will be champ by this time anywayz, but if they're not, then they could both main event WM21.

From Raw, only Orton can win it.

I'd say the favourites are:
Raw
Orton; Will main event WM21, almost without a doubt, just gotta see whether he will win the rumble in order to get that honour.
Jericho; lost the IC belt. Either they are going to fumble around with him like they always do, or will give him the win and get him the title.
Kane; Could be in line FINALLY for a world title run (of more than 1 day!) - but he is away filming, so maybe not.
Edge; hmmm, depends how over he can get i think.

No one else has a chance, maybe with the exception of HBK (highly doubtful), shelton Benjamin (hope not), Batista, Christian (as if they'd give him a main event - fuking wwe)

Smackdown
Cena; obvious choice, but he will be away filming. he is the most over wrestler on raw, but doubt he'll get it (if a young over guy gets it, it'll be randy)
Booker T; my tip, i think within the next 5 month booker will have the wwe title...and this could be the perfect leadup!
Big show; like booker, i expect him to have the title again soon, and like booker, this would be a perfect leadup.
Angle; is a pretty good chance IMO

The only otherwith an outside chance is Taker or JBL, but i doubt either of those will win (esspecially because JBL was first one out this year!!!)

rep for writing all the names.
However, i think you've missed out on a few.
JBL. I'm assuming he will have lost the title by then (i think he'll loose it at survivor series.
orlando jordan should prolly be in it too.
Eddie Guerrero must be in the rumble as well, as should Chavo

I'm about 99.9999999% sure Cena will be back by the end of January, in fact I think he's supposed to be back much sooner than that.

If I was putting money on it, I would say Orton is the guy to lay money on. For the simple fact that he's positioned to work Hunter this year, and Hunter probably wants to be in the ME.

However, I think this year's Mania will fall short in terms of buys. Combined that with the fact that Orton has shown no ability to be 'the guy' and I could see a scenario playing out where HHH takes a slight back seat like he did in Seattle.

So I could see them giving the "main event" spot to a SD guy. Last week I would have said that guy was Taker. However, he's coming off a title chase story that did less than 200,000 buys. I cant see how that would make the WWE feel good about putting him in a top spot. Coupled with that you have this Cena "injury" and I'm sure that will lead to a big storybook comeback, and what better way to make a comeback than to win the Rumble and headline Wrestlemania? Cena is legitimately over (unlike Orton), so I think putting him in the top spot would be a safer move.

Of course the Rumble at this point means a lot less than it used to. Now you've got two champs, so even if one guy loses, he'll still have another shot to "headline" Wrestlemania (the two title matches will get equal billing no matter who goes on last). I mean I guess the "last match" spot is on the line, but as the past 3 Manias have shown, that isn't necessarily the "main event" spot on the card.

If I was putting money on it, I would say Orton is the guy to lay money on.

That's what I don't like about the Rumble, if you were betting with your friends, what could be a possible 30 different ways the match is likely to go, can rationally be lowered to three or four. I wouldn't mind seeing Orton & Cena elimianting each other somewhere during the middle of the match. The favourite from RAW & the favourite for SmackDown! eliminated before the final ten.

I think you're right with saying John Cena will be a HUGE focus of the WWE when he returns, I hope they have him sell the intensity of the Rumble, but having him dumped out before the final four. I really dislike it when the babyface is given that gimmick of how he is the most passionate guy in wrestling. I think the focusshould be on how all these guys are passionate, how it is all their best chance, and all of them are fighting for their professional success.

Stars should be chucked out left and right, and the focus should be on the intensity of every person in the match in different ways. Guys go and sit at the announcer's table, guys hide under the ring. Some wrestlers team up on a guy like The Big Show to get him out. Some guys who ge thrown out only hit with one foot, then carefully re-enter the match. There should be one superstar used to dominate the match, and I'm looking forward to it being the returning Kane. Hopefully he shatters his own elimination record, and I hope to see him at leats the runner-up this year. So much innovation, and so many angles can be used in the Royal Rumble, and I really hope we see a lot of character developement, as well as an unpredictable event, in what I like to think of as the most important event of the year.

angle developments
Christian and Jericho
Kane and Taker
possibly Big Show and Cena
Lesner and Goldberg
Foley and Orton
Benoit and HHH
Benoit and Shawn Michaels

My thoughts exactly. Both are too young in the business to really carry the biggest event. In two eyars I think both will be good choices. Next year would be a bit predictable for one or both to win the Rumble, but I can see one or both of them headlining their brand's respective title match.

I would like to see something innovative done in the 2005 Royal Rumble. I think it would be interesting to see the #1 and #2 entrants make a pact of sorts, and either team up on all the other entrants afterwards, or build up and sort of make a stable of such in the Rumble. Another idea I wouldn't mind seeing is all the people in the Rumble deciding to wait until everyone has entered, to eliminate the luck part of the Rumble. Then have an entrant from #10-15, like Kane come in and destroy everyone in the Rumble, and make it utter chaos.
