View Full Version : The 2 Biggest Myths About Movies And A Blurb About Super Milk Chan

I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone here. First, the 2 biggest myths about movies today.

Myth #1. All Quenton Tarantino Films Are Good

Firstly, anyone who knows me knows I hate that arrogant dick known as Quenton Tarantino. For one thing, he can't even take critizism. If you ever see the episode of Howard Stern where he was talking about Kill Bill( ), Robin begins to say she doesn't like the film, and he gets all bitchy.

For another thing, this guy stamps his fucking name all over work that isn't his. Hero anyone? He had nothing to do with Hero, but he's got such a hard-on to work with Jet Li, that he'll do anything to get in Li's good spirits.

Finally, what the fuck is with Tarantino's dumbass karate jackets he's always wearing? Tarantino's always walking around like Chachi in the final season of Happy Days with his satin kung-fu jacket. I don't know who's worse, Tarantino or his little zombie group of fanboy lovers.

Myth #2. All Kevin Smith Movies Are Good

As a person who loves comic books, Kevin Smith is a cancer to the world of comics. Smith is so quick to jump ships. When he found out his little buddy Ben Affleck was in Daredevil, he proceeded to take little snotty shots at Spider-Man. And of course, his little fanboy club were shaking in their boots over Spider-Man. But then the minute it comes out and does ridiculous box-office numbers, he suddenly loves it.

His movies aren't any better. I'll openly admit that Clerks and Jay & Silent Bob Stirke Back are good movies, but the rest should be shoved down the toilet with the rest of the turds. Crap like Chasing Amy and Mallrats have no place in American cinema. I've already ranted about what he did with the Daredevil comic, so I won't go there again.

Discuss.

Secondly, my brain has been throuroughly warped and disgusted by Super Milk Chan. This came on at 3:30 AM last night. In this incredibly strange show, a girl named Milk Chan(or it could be Super Milk Chan, not sure) must save the world. She lives with a robotic maid shaped like a bottle named Tetsko. She also has a slug named Hegnarto or something similar.

On last night's episode, the president enlisted Milk Chan to stop a counterfeiter(sp?). So Milk Chan, in an effort to capture the criminal, builds a Belgian Waffel stand to lure him in. On the way, they find a robotic dog who can sniff out counterfeit bills. In the end, they catch the criminal and go back home.

Strange? Yes. Cool just because it's strange? No.

Tarantino does make good movies, so you are wrong there. Kevin Smith, however, made two movies that were really even watchable (Dogma and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back), so I guess you get partial credit.

Well, I don't think Tarantino makes good movies. In my opinion, he's an overrated hack. But to each his own.

I'm going to ignore the first 2 parts of this topic simply because I disagree with you and my opinions on movies are pretty much unshakeable.

However, I too saw Super Milk Chan last night and thought I was watching some klind of Hello Kitty type program. Then they were talking about not paying rent for 6 months and shit and calling each other dumbasses and realized I'm watching Hello Kitty on crack.

I just HAVE to correct you here. The Weinsteins (Miramax guys) were gonna bring Hero over, but edit it in some way, because they think American moviegoers are all idiots. However, Tarantino petitioned them and they came to an agreement: The would release the movie in it's original form is QT attached his name to it.

So, kindly, shut the fuck up when you don't know what's going on.

Wadding is right. Plus, the movie did nice BO numbers for a foreign subtitled film released on Labor Day weekend. His name brought in the $$$, and there's nothing wrong with that. It is actually a good sign that more movies like Hero (which I didn't see but heard great things about) will get more widely released here in America.

Kevin Smith has grown to be a bit too big for his britches. I agree. His movies have gotten progressively worse in the order they were made, IMO. Although Jersey Girl is prolly on par with Dogma as his 4th best effort. I see Clerks as his best work and will probably never be topped, but I can't understand how you dislike Mallrats and Chasing Amy (his 2nd and 3rd best flicks IMO) and enjoy J&SBSB. If any of his movies "do not belong in American cinema" it's J&SBSB. I'm hoping Clerks 2 is a lot more like his first 3 films and not so much his previous ones.

I don't recall him taking shots at Spider-Man, but if he did, I'm sure he had good reason. He is a comic fanboy, and like all comic fanboys, they want their beloved comics to translate well to the big screen. Of course he is going to be concerned and skeptical with it being made, and when he saw it, he admitted he was wrong and enjoyed it. Nothing wrong there.

As usual, we disagree. ;)

And about Super Milk Chan, I have no idea what the hell that is.

I can't really comment on Kevim Smith...the only two movies I saw in full are Clerks and Jersey Girl (which I liked). I saw parts of J&SBSB and I dunno, I thought it kinda sucked. I am going to see Mallrats, CA, and Dogma and then watch it again and see how I feel though.

Kevin Smith is overrated. None of his films are very good.

Alright, I will openly admit to being wrong about that. But I still think Tarantino is an arrogant dipshit.

Super Milk Chan is one of the most ridiculous pieces of absolute nothing I have ever seen. Adult Swim usually shows good stuff that more often than not is very entertaining, but SMC is NOT one of those shows and I hope they get rid of it soon.

I agree with you on Quentin, he sucks (except for maybe Pulp Fiction). He makes movies that are just too fucking random for me (Dusk Till Dawn).

And Adult Swim sucks, the cartoons Comedy Central shows are much funnier than any other foreign cartoons Adult Swim picks up.

From Dusk Till Dawn was adapted from a story, so its not really all Tarantino. Still an awesome movie, Not as good as his other stuff, though.

Tarantino just wrote the screenplay for Dusk til Dawn. He didn't "make" it. That was Robert Rodriguez.

It's funny when Tarantino's name comes up in any project (screenplays etc.) that all the haters react like he had EVERYTHING do with it or that he's the heavy-handed asshole director.

Well I see my thoughts about Tarantino have already been expressed in regards to his role in 'Hero'.
