My friend's computer is crapping out on her

And I have no idea what is going on.

XXXXX : okay so my computer
XXXXX : it like froze and then the bottom part of the screen
XXXXX : looked like a paper being slowly engulfed by fire
XXXXX : and then my screen turned black
XXXXX : and now my screen has a resolution of like 800 by 600
XXXXX : and most of the colors are not showing

Can anyone help?

Video card crapped iself?
possibly try re-seating it, then maybe re-installing the drivers, it sounds to me like a hardware issue. like the card has just partially fried. I have had half dead cards doing some weird stuff before.
You havent given me alot to go on there.

Prob needs a new vid card, unless he's updated the drivers recently and they have broked it.
What kind of card is it?
