WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Dudley Boyz will look to regain the World Tag Team Championship at the Royal Rumble when they battle the champions, Ric Flair & Batista. This time, however, the challengers may have the upper hand going in to the match, as it will be a Tables Match. Undoubtedly, these stipulations must favor the Dudleys. Order Royal Rumble, live on pay-per-view to find out. Click here for photos.
CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
The growing tension between Jamie Noble and Rey Mysterio will finally come to a head when Noble challenges Mysterio for the Cruiserweight Championship. Noble has attacked Mysterio recently when Mysterio tried to come to the aid of Noble's girlfriend, Nidia. Will Mysterio have some payback in store for Noble? Order Royal Rumble to find out. Click here for photos.
WILL MICK FOLEY APPEAR?
On the final RAW before Royal Rumble, Stone Cold Steve Austin issued an order to Mick Foley: Arrive at the Rumble to defend his Hardcore Legend status that has been discredited by Randy Orton, or Austin said he would drag Foley to the arena himself. Will Foley be at Royal Rumble to defend his honor? Order Royal Rumble to find out.

Well, it's good to have a place set-up so I can do my PBP.
First PPV of 2004 and it looks like it's going to be a hell of a show. I'm looking forward to every match on the card, even the WWE title match, which is kind of weird considering Holly is in it. And the unpredictability and massive star power in the Rumble make it that much more exciting. I'm pumped for tomorrow night.

I'll be the first to say it...
The winner of the 2004 Royal Rumble will be... Billy Gunn!

I Believe Chris Benoit will last a long time, infact I think He'll stay in for the last 4 men, Goldberg, Cena, Benoit and Kurt angle, The Smackdown team will team up against Goldberg, Benoit will lift Angle over while Cena get in behind and Throws Benoit out...
\_. John Cena ._/
...well... yeah, That's what I hope happens :D
-edit-
well, Benoit could win... because of the "heyman wont give Benoit a title shot" thing :-\
#1-norm-fan
01-25-2004, 04:37 AM
Yeah that's why I was thinking Benoit would win cause it would kinda be like his "last chance" for a title shot and would build drama. Maybe he and someone else will go out simultaniously. It's been done before but I can see it happening.
Anyways, I can almost garuntee the final four wont be someone Angle, Goldberg, Benoit, and Cena. The four main guys are NEVER in the final four, and there is always one surpise final four guy. EX. Past rumble participants who have made it to the final four include Curt Hennig a few years ago, Henry Godwinn, and Fake Diesel. Those are just off the top of my head.

You people need to get off of WG's case... really. He's posting a wrestling PPV thread in a wrestling forum on the day of the PPV. All that shows me is that he's excited about the PPV's and show's.
Tonight I'm more than likely going to be disappointed. My expectations are extremely high. I'm looking for a Foley return, Undertaker return, HBK Title win (almost impossible), and either Benoit, Cena, Orton, Jericho, or RVD to win the rumble.

Actually they switched off last year with Cole and Tazz doing the SmackDown! matches.

What occurs to me this year is that for the first time in a LONG time, the winner of the Rumble isn't a foregone conclusion. Was there ever any doubt that Lesnar was going to win last year, or HHH the year before, or Austin the year before? Not to me. This year it seems that Goldberg and Benoit at least have an equal chance, and that Cena, Angle, and Kane are outside chances.
Personally I'm predicting Benoit to win, though that may be just because I can't stomach the idea of predicting Goldberg.
It was Lawler and JR last year. Possibly Coach too.
Yeah but there wasn't so much the "Smackdown/Raw" thing going on last year. The brand extension has been driven deeper with brand-specific PPV's. I'm realistically hoping for a Tazz & JR team.
Or maybe even have both commentary teams and switch between them.

Cause i got nothing better to do i will predict how all superstars will do.
Raw
Kane:A late entry will dominate for awhile.. Takers Music will play (his coming like titantron stuff) Kane will be distracted whilst Booker T will take the oppertunity to eliminate him.
Booker T: will enter around 18 - 24.. When Kane goes in he will go straight for Booker beating him up for abit.. The Taker thing happens which helps Booker eliminate Kane.. Kane gets Angry he quickly runs back into the ring and throws Booker T over the top. The 2 will fight all the way backstage.. (making this a mini feud till the raw before NWO seeming as thats a smackdown ppv)
Goldberg: Well we already know his number 30.. I hope there will be atleast 10 - 12 Guys still in the ring by then. Goldberg Dominates and eliminates almost half the competitors in the ring. He will be in the final 4 and still seems unstoppable. But a silly mistake or a distraction will send him over.
Scott Steiner: One of the final guys to be eliminated by Goldberg. Could slow Goldie down abit.
Christian: Unfortunatly will probably be round midcard and wont last long. But it would be interesting if him and Jericho met at the same time. Christian slags off Jericho and Trish. Jericho eliminates Christian as Christian acts all shocked. This could lead to a mini Christian/Jericho feud.
Chris Jericho: What i said up there and hopefully will last for quite some time... Maybe even into the final 4.
Mark Henry: Once again another late entry. Be cool to give Goldie credability to eliminate Henry all on his own after a jackhammer or something.
Rico: One of the early entries.. More then likely wont last too long.
The Hurricane: Another early entry who probably wont last too long.
Matt Hardy: A Mid entry will last for awhile but be eliminated just before no 30.
Test: Another entry could last for sometime only to be eliminated just before the end.
Rene Dupree: Will be one of the early entrys and more then likely will be one of the very first eliminations if not the very first.
Spike Dudley:Will a) Be beaten up at the beginning of the night so he doesnt make it into the rumble match meaning Foley takes his place.
B) If he does make it to the rumble.. Will be in the ring with somebody like the big show and actually look quite impressive for awhile. But the Dudley dog will be his big mistake as Show (who im using for example) will just with one hand chuck Spike out.
Randy Orton: Will probably be a mid entrie and seem impressive after eliminating 2 jobbers. He aims for Benoit until he spots Foley. This will distract Orton which will get him eliminated.
Rob van Dam: the one to eliminate Orton.. Unfortunatly might not be one of the last few in.
Smackdown
Kurt Angle: Runner up.. Hopefully will Angle slam Goldielocks over the top. One of the late entries.
John Cena: Enter round mid card... Last a great amount of time. Hopefully one of the last guys left in the ring.
Chris Benoit: Hopefully we will be looking this years Royal Rumble winner... After entering at No 1.. Benoit will take many a bump and bruise as Benoit will start to weaken making it look like his chances are slowly but surely decreaseing.. But somehow Benoit shall prove them all wrong and be the one guy left in the ring at the end of it all.
Billy Gunn: Late entry.. Probably make it to the end. But will end up being one of Goldie or Kanes victims.
Shelton benjamen: Probably one of the earlier entrys to be eliminated around haf way. Be cool to see him go one on one with Haas.
Charlie Haas: Mis entrie and goes for Benjamen.. Double elimination.
Nunzio: One of the early entries..Could last a little while.. But he'll be gone eventually.
Big Show: Eliminate one or 2 jobbers.. Seem untouchable till kane throws him out.
Matt Morgan: I actually think Matt Morgan will be an early entry. Could even be draw no 2. He will be the first guy to weaken Benoit.
Tajiri: Early entry probably wont last to long.
Ernest " The Cat " Miller: Probably this years joke entry.. He'll enter and try abit of dancing i have a feeling Rikishi will be the one to eliminate him.. Probably only last about a Minute.. most of that minute might be spent enetering the ring.
Rikishi: Mid entry.. Will be eliminated by one of the bigger men.
A- Train: Probably another Mid entry who will be thrown out just before 30.
Bradshaw: Early entry.. Hopefully wont last too long.
Rhyno: Unfortuantly probably another early entry..Lets hope he gets some decent time in the rumble.
Either way i think this years line up is pretty good.
Should be an interesting Rumble.

Oh yeah, Chris Benoit will win. Because they are trying to make it look like he has no chance, hence hoping you will be suprised when he wins.
It's about time they made number 30 mean something though. Every year they make a big deal out of who gets to be 30, and yet number 30 has NEVER won the Royal Rumble as far as I can remember. So if Goldberg wins it would finally help establish 30 as a good number to be, unlike previous years where when they make someone the no. 30 entrant they are basically saying to everyone "this person won't win the Royal Rumble".
Kenny
01-25-2004, 04:59 PM

The only was I would be happy if Benoit DIDN'T win the Rumble, would be if he then transfered to Raw the next night. Then the Triple H/Benoit match at Mania would make sence. But then, the only way that would work is to have someone from Smackdown win the Rumble, but I cant see them letting a Smackdown superstar win the Rumble two years running...unless it does actually turn out to be Benoit who wins.

Well, we start off with the World Tag Team Title match, The Dudleys vs. Ric Flair and Batista as I barely made time to order the thing. Batista wants the music cut. Yeah, I'd want that shit music turned off, too. They slug it out before the bell rings to start and it's a donnybrook on the outside. Bubba goes for wood early and slides it into Batista from all the way across the ring. D-Von and Flair start officially and Flair eats a powerslam and the Dudleys set up the wood. They try the double suplex but Batista moves the table. They double team Batista and he eats a neckbreaker and D-Von and Batista go to the outside. Flair slugs away with Bubba in the corner where a table is resting. Flip, Flop, and Fly but Batista takes him out and goes to work on D-Von. More punch-kick stuff going now. D-Von shoulder tackles Flair down and Batista takes the neckbreaker/backdrop combo from the Dudleys. Flair goes up top after dispensing of D-Von and that goes about as well as you'd expect for the poort guy. Coach leaves the announce table as the Dudleys set up the wood for a 3D. Coach gets brought in by Bubba and he gets set up for the Whassup Drop but Flair saves. D-Von clotheslines Flair down but Batista sneaks in to spinebust D-Von through the table for the win. Bleh. 1/2*
Meanwhile, Cena assures us that he's the one to bet on for the Rumble. RVD sneaks in to finish the rap for him in a hilarious segment. That was funny.

Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Mysterio vs. Jamie Noble: A couple of switches to start and Rey gets a quick 6-1-9 set-up but Noble counters with a flapjack. Rey gets hotshotted gut first on the ropes for two. Rey with a quick schoolboy for two but Noble clotheslines him down and goes into an abdominal stretch. Rey counters a toss up with a dropkick. Rey with a spinning hurricanrana and a bulldog variation. Noble counters the crossbody with a gutbuster. Rey counters the Tiger Bomb but gets stomped down. Nidia 'accidentally' trips up Noble and Rey sets him up for a 6-1-9 and a Drop the Dime to win and retain the title. This is the first PPV win ever for Rey ever since his WWE debut. About damn time. Noble is less than pleased. Two short to be anything worth much. *1/2

Chavo Guerrero vs. Eddie Guerrero: Haha, I'm looking back at the build up for the Guerreros match and I'm reminded of those "I was there" WWE ads cause I was there for the SmackDown! in the Laredo and I now have a moment: I was there, when Chavo Guerrero bitch-slapped his uncle. Chavo's gone back to the old "heelish Eddie" music from WCW. Sign in the back: BATTLE OF THE MEXES. Yeah, cause that foreign Mexican nation of El Pason generates them out the ying-yang. Crowd is mad hot for Eddie. Lock up to start as they jockey for positions but it goes nowhere. Chavo with the HISPANIC BITCH SLAP FROM EL PASO!!! Eddie spears him into the corner and goes nuts on Chavo but the ref breaks that up. Eddie with a hammerlock into a droptoe hold and a chin lock. Chavo recovers and backs Eddie into the corner and lays in a chop. More locking up in the corner and Eddie answers back with a chop of his own. Chavo with a headlock and a couple of shoulderblocks and the chops come out in full measure. Eddie with a thumb to the eye to send Chavo reeling and he backs off from the striking game. Single leg trip by Eddie into an armbar. Chavo pops up in a lucha libre moment and hurricanranas himself and Eddie over the top. Chavo, Sr. trips up Eddie as he's trying to climb back into the ring. Chavo goes on the attack with the STRIKING GAME. Eddie counters and AGAIN backs off from punching. Eddie locks in a cross armbar but Chavo gets to the rope. Huge back drop from Chavo for two. Cute spot next as Chavo goes for the triple suplexes but Eddie drops out of the last one. Eddie counters a tornado DDT and delivers some headbutts and goes into the triple suplexes himself. Up to the top, frog splash connects to give Eddie the win. What the f</>uck was that?!?!? **1/2 Eddie KOs Chavo Sr. afterwards and then goes low for fun. He beats the snot out of Chavo and Chavo Sr. gets tied up in the ropes. Eddie continues to beat the shit out of Chavo in the corner as Chavo is busted open. Who's supposed to be the heel here?

Brock Lesnar Championship: Brock Lesnar vs. Hardcore Holly: Of ALL the matches that should be short, it's this one. Holly wastes no time kicking Lesnar's ass on the outside but Brock looks to F5 him into the post but Holly escapes and sends him into the post. Match officially starts as Brock avoids a top rope shoulder block. Suplex by Lesnar and he stomps away. On the outside, Holly eats the apron. Back in, Lesnar with a bear hug and grapevines him for good measure. Lesnar with the high cradle fisherman's for two and goes back into the bearhug/grapevine. Yeah, way to make Holly look threatening when IT COUNTS. My laptop loses battery power as I barely notice that it's not even plugged in but I don't miss much as Holly eats a belly to belly overhead and AGAIN goes back to the bearhug/grapevine lock and into a sort of cobra clutch as the crowd is losing patience. Holly fights back and takes Lesnar with a clothesline. AlabamaSlama connects and he locks in the Full Nelson. They tumble to the outside as Lesnar taps but it doesn't count. So back in Holly goes as he tries the Full Nelson on Brock as he's on the apron but Brock hot shots him. An F5 ends the torture as I again wonder what the point of all this was. These guys have jack chemistry. *

Triple H World Title-Last Man Standing: Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels: Ahh, the reason behind the short and iffish quality matches tonight is finally revealed. I'm telling you, this is SummerSlam 2002 all over again where they steal the show and HHH can hold onto the belt for another 10 months. Lock up to start and they go to the STRIKING GAME back and forth. The finally go to wrestling as they have a sort of reversal sequence but it's back to striking and Michaels gets planted with the face...uh...plant. Hard Irish whip into the corner by the Game followed by a backbreaker as Michaels' back is suddenly out of the blue brought up as a liability. Michaels flips out of a slam attempt and gets a dragon screw leg whip into the figure four. Well, I guess the point is if the legs are hurt you can't stand but the leg hasn't been work on up until this point. Triple H won't even tap here even though it won't count. Michaels with a dropkick to the knee. Michaels charges but HHH low bridges the ropes to send Michaels to the outside. HHH begins to do some redecorating with the announce table and introduces Michaels into the steps. Now HBK is set up on the SmackDown! announce table. Michaels counters a suplex attempt and slugs away, knocking HHH onto the floor and Michaels follows suit with a double axe handle. Back in, HHH counters another top rope move with a Pedigree attempt but Michaels back drops him out of the ring. Michaels shoulder fakes a diving move and goes for a springboard crossbody but HHH moves out of the way and Michaels CRASHES INTO THE SPANISH ANNOUNCE TABLE!!! That looked sick. Michaels is bleeding now for some odd reason as he's up at 7. Back in, HHH pounds on HBK some more causing a couple of false counts as Michaels SHOWS HIS RESILIANCY!!! HHH ends a burst of Michaels offense with a spinebuster. HHH goes into roid frustration and goes for a chair which gets smacked on the spine of Michaels. This is almost the EXACT same match layout and commentary by King and JR from SummerSlam 2002. HHH looks to Pedigree Michaels on the chair but HBK counters with a double leg takedown and catapults him into the corner. Michaels goes for the chair now and KOs HHH right in his hand...er, head. Now HHH is busted open and the slugging starts up again leading to a Michaels forearm. And Michaels nips up! Totally didn't see that one coming. Right hands and an atomic drop and another right to knock down the Game. Off the top, Michaels delivers the elbow and he starts tuning up the band. HHH counters by dropping to his knees and going low on Michaels. K, that wasn't exactly the most flattering description of what happened. Michaels with a sleeper to lull me, er, HHH out and the ref starts the count. 9 count only as HHH answers Michaels' punches with shoving. I don't think this feud needs any more room for gay jokes. DDT on Shawn for an 8 count and the STRIKING GAME continues. Michaels does the Flair Flip in the corner off a whip. Michaels counters a super back drop by turning in mid-air into a crossbody. Double 9 count and a Pedigree connects. Michaels is back up at 9 making him even more superhuman than Jeff Hardy, RVD, Booker T, Kane, Chris Jericho, and Kevin Nash combined! I mean, a normal man would've been down until the end of the PPV!!! Michaels connects with Sweet Chin Music but both men can't answer the count of 10 and we've got ourselves a draw which REALLY pisses the crowd off. All of that hype, all of the insistance on keeping these guys on top, and all the short matches on this card for THAT? Don't tell me get another 3 months of this. I suppose the big question of how they would top their Raw match a few weeks ago got answered here; they didn't. ***

Well anybody who thought HBK actually had a chance should've read more of the threads around here. None of WWE's plans going to WMXX involved HBK in a title match. Most of the talk was for HHH/Benoit. People should be happy it was a draw and not a clean win by HHH. HBK's sole purpose was to go out and put on a good match with HHH. I never considered that he could actually win the match.

Royal Rumble match: JR AND TAZZ GET TO DO THE COMMENTARY!!! This could be interesting. Bischoff interrupts the preceeding claiming Raw has the greater talent and entertainers. That could be argued. He disses out Heyman for a while drawing him out. You know if THESE guys were the one's spearheading the Alliance during the InVasion they'd have had something. Heyman attacks in order to defend his manly honor but the fight is broken up by Dues Ex Austin (UGH!!!) in his ATV. Austin claims they're wasting everybody's time. You're one to talk. Austin claims they both are in violation of the law. Heyman freaks out and begs Austin not to stun him. So he stuns Bischoff first and offers Heyman a beer and stuns him, too. Sigh.

Meanwhile, Brock interrupts a Goldberg interview and gets fooled into thinking Hardcore Holly is behind him. They have a manly testosteroney moment and Goldberg goes off on his business.
Royal Rumble Match (for real): Number 1 is of course Benoit and Orton is number 2. Oh, so Benoit has to put over this goof? 90 second intervals this year. Lock up to start and Benoit kicks the shit out of Orton in the corner and elbows him down. Snap suplex. Yeah, show him who's the man. Orton comes back with a brawling strategy and attempts to get Benoit over but Benoit fights back and knees Orton down. Mark Henry waddles in at number 3 and immediately goes to work on Benoit and chokes Orton down in the corner. Benoit chops back but Henry's got his no-selling boots on in full force. Punch-kick stuff continues as Tajiri is number 4. Orton and he immediately fight it out. Benoit delivers a couple of Germans to Tajiri. Orton nearly gets tossed as Internet geeks almost have a collective heartattack. Not alot going on here and Bradshaw at number 5 doesn't look to help matters any. He clotheslines Henry, Tajiri, and Orton down. He tries the same on Benoit but he locks in the CROSSFACE!!! Benoit almost gets dumped but he hangs on and takes Bradshaw out. JR's gotta be heartbroken. Orton fails to shoulderblock Henry down as everyone just randomly punches and kicks each other. Rhyno is number 6 and he goes to work on Benoit and Orton. Tajiri gets a Tarantula on Mark Henry and Rhyno spinebusts Benoit. Rhyno gores Henry which forces Tajiri out. Benoit takes advantage and dumps Henry. Sweet. Matt Hardy is number 7 not having any chance at winning. Side Effect on Rhyno but he's nearly tossed by Benoit. Hard shoulderblock by Rhyno on Matt as Matt and Benoit are looking to get tossed. Scott Steiner is number 8 and he knocks everyone down and T-Bones Orton. Belly to belly on Benoit and an overhead on Rhyno. Benoit comes back with a couple of Germans on Steiner. Orton almost tossed by Tajiri but he hangs on as Matt Morgan is number 9. Spiral sitout powerbomb on Benoit and a big boot to Matt Hardy. Suplex by Steiner on Rhyno. Everyone goes back into randomly whacking each other until The Hurricane enters at number 10 hoping to add something. He crossbodies his way into Matt Hardy and he tries his luck with Morgan but Morgan casually catches him and dumps him pissing off the crowd. See, Morgan is big and Hurricane is small so Morgan MUST BE the guy we want to see. Matt almost meets the same fate but he hangs on. More brawling stuff as Hardy tries to clip Morgan down. Booker T enters at number 11 with his shitty new Originals music. He chops away at Steiner to start and he tries a go with Orton and he delivers a scissors kick to the IC Champ.

Steiner gets eliminated by Booker T during Kane's entrance who is number 12. Chokeslam on Benoit and on Morgan. Matt tries a Side Effect but he meets a sidewalk slam. Kane boots Rhyno to counter a Gore and Orton gets a chokeslam to finish it off. I just love how they build him up but NEVER WINS!!! The timer reaches zero and the Undertaker's gong goes off distracting Kane. Booker T takes advantage and dumps Kane. (See what I mean???) Spike comes out presumably at number 13 but gets chokeslammed on the ramp. Technically, he's still in the match. Rikishi is next at 14 as Benoit dumps Rhyno. Rikishi cleans house for a while until he decides to Stink Face Morgan.

Rene Dupree is 15 and he enters doing the FRENCH DANCE!!! He gets rid off Matt Hardy but wastes time doing the dance and gets booted out by Rikishi. Yeah, way to make those stars. A-Train is 16 as I'm rapidly losing patience with this Rumble. Benoit saves the day by ducking a Matt Morgan boot and tossing him out. Orton dumps Rikishi next followed by Booker T. Well, you win some, you lose some. I think that's another reason I can't stand the Orton push. Benoit takes A-Train out of the match as Shelton Benjamin is number 17. He and Orton have their way with each other but Orton ducks the super kick and dumps Benjamin leaving Orton and Benoit alone. Back drop on Orton and they clock heads off an Irish whip sequence. LaMonte comes out to personally introduce Ernest Miller as the 18th entrant. They dance for a while until Benoit gets pissed off enough to take out LaMonte and Orton dumps The Cat. And people wonder why I think Benoit is the man. Orton is OK...I guess....Uh, back to the match, Kurt Angle is number 19 and he takes the fight to Orton and Benoit takes advantage to have another encounter with Angle. Angle clotheslines Benoit down and suplexes Benoit. Benoit looks to get tossed but Benoit hangs on. Rico is number 20 as I wonder where the hell Spike went. Orton dropkicks Rico down as Angle slugs it out with Benoit. Face plant by Rico on Orton but Orton goes low and RKO's Rico. Benoit with a switch on Angle and UNLOADS THE GERMANS as Orton dumps Rico. Angle drops Benoit from the turnbuckle, crotching him as I almost have a heartattack of my own. Test's music hits at number 21 but he doesn't show as Orton RKO's Angle. In the back, it seems someone took out Test. Austin is understandably pissed (so am I) and orders the person who did it (who we can't see) to enter at 21. It ends up being Mick Foley (!!!) and Orton gets an asskicking deluxe. Meanwhile, Angle and Benoit are forced into laying in the corners seeing as they're not more important than Orton. Foley charges and he takes out himself and Randy from the match leaving Angle and Benoit. Foley continues the assault on Orton as Tazz reminds us we still have a match going on (God bless him) and Christian is number 22. That's not more important than the Foley/Orton brawl though cause they're still showing it. Sure, waste time focusing on a green, unover worker and a retired NON-worker who's bordering on killing his legacy off himself. Nunzio is number 23 but we're not supposed to care cause Foley goes for the Mandible Claw on him but Orton goes low and walks off. Nunzio has apparently gotten dumped as Angle Germans Christian and Benoit down. Tazz corrects me stated Nunzio is still in but is just staying out to save himself. Big Show is next at number 24.
