View Full Version : You ever get tired of having certain debates with marks?

For example, I'm tired of marks who just discoved then internet trying to convince me that the guy who used to play Kane is now that other masked guy on TNA (of course they don't know the character on TNA's name is Abyss). Anyways, I don't wanna get into a debate how Glen Jacobs has always played Kane. I wanna bitch about stupid ass wanna be smarks.
So what are some of the arguments you get tired of having to go through?

I hear people get into the whole thing about how Hogan is "SO much more talented and athletic than Kurt Angle". That's at the top of my list.

That, not to mention "ZOMG UND3RTAYKR ADN CANE R RELLY BROTHURS LOL".
Paraphrased, of course, but that's up there too.

The one I used to have to argue was that Undertaker and Kane were twins, that's why they didn't show Kane's face.
Thankfully that one doesn't happen anymore.

ya...I've had so many people argue with me that more than one person was the Undertaker...I mean I keep telling that no, with the exception of the Undertaker Vs. Undertaker match, only Mark Calloway has played the Undertaker

I hate it worse when smart fans start to turn mark on me mid-debate.
I also hate it when people blatantly make shit up to try to sound smarter than they are. My brother-in-law does this all the time. One example that springs to mind was the time we were talking about the WWE being strict on copyright and trademark enforcement, and he was "surprised the WWE let Jeff Hardy use 'Jeff Hardy'."
I thought this was a joke at first, and laughed along with him, but then he stopped and was like, "No, seriously. I mean, you know him and Matt aren't brothers, right?"

Some people tried to tell me that the black and white Sting was a different guy than the bleach blond sufer Sting. Surprisingly most of them paid attention to me and realised I was soooo right. Now I miss Sting.
My ex girlfriend's brother told me he met the guy who played backup for Kane. What the shit was up with that? And everyone has said that there have been multiple people playing Kane. You can tell it's always been the same Kane by watching him in the ring.
It's like a wrestler can completely change their hair, get a pretty new look and suddenly it's a different person.

I keep getting the "there were 3 different Ultimate Warriors" one.

thats a popular one from way back in the day...the fact he has come back and disappeared so many times (plus he was alot smaller when he came back at WM8 with shorter hair) that people think the real one died somehow, etc.

I try to avoid these conversations with people nowadays.
Like a week ago, I was on teamspeak, yeah I don't know the dude personally so what, but we were talking about wrestling and this guy only watched clips of wrestling and just watched like 3 matches in his whole life and he's like 29. He was telling me about an interview with The Rock where Rock told everyone about the punches and stuff. I told him that when you get punched, they do hit you, I know from experience, but they don't do it so you get seriously hurt, which was his argument, and I agree'd. His whole argument was that its coregraphed and they're not really hitting each other and its fake. I told him that part may be a little fake, but when you take back bumps, that pain is real. You get sore from all that and bruises, which he admitted too. BLAH! He also thought he knew what was underneath the ring and then I told him whats under there cause I help set up and break down the ring, he was speechless after that :)

I love when people join the IWC and actually believe the bullshit headlines on news sites that tell you to link to another site for more information.
"Jericho to be fired for comments made about Stephanie's breasts, click link for more information".

Some of them sounded like they were faking emotion to an extreme. Most of them seemed legit.
But that's neither here nor there.
I was playing SVR with a friend, and he complained about drafting up Kurt Angle because he HATES kurt angle. That would be bad enough (I'm not going to draft a big name because I dislike him), but he then went on to say he sucked in ring.

That's all you can do in some of those situations. Sadly, Jim is still alive, and I guess as well as ever.

"Wrestling is so damn violent, with the barbed wire and fire" or something to that effect.
I'm not just saying that to reference Sadistic, either, I've heard people at wrestling shows and people around who have said that...

Yeah, it sucks. Everyone thinks we're all retards who think deathmatches are cool, or that wrestling hasn't evolved from the days of Hulk Hogan, or that we actually believe the fights and drama are real.
Not that it's NOT real...:shifty:

Some of the more stupid arguments I have had...
I once had to convince someone, true story here, that Hulk Hogan owned WWE. For some reason, he was convinced, that Hulk Hogan was the owner of WWE, and Vince McMahon was a pawn.
I had to, painfully, argue with someone about Owen Hart...falling from the rafters was a storyline, and then he became the Undertaker.
The Rock is doing all these movies...because his gimmick tells him to.
Vince owned WCW the whole time...
And as everyone and their mom has mentioned The Undertaker, Kane, Sting, Ultimate Warrior...have all had anywhere from 2 to 7 people play them.

Except the Undertaker part, I had to do this many times.
Here's one. "Pfft, that blood looks so fake and I think I saw the baggie of (insert food dye/tomato juice/some other red substance here)"...
As far as I know, the only times wrestlers (nowadays, anyway) use capsules is when they need to bleed from the mouth, because that's not exactly the greatest place to blade for obvious reasons.
For some reason, you rarely hear them talking about blading. It's always some substance that looks like blood.

Actually I think that might be true... Steel shouldn't bend as much as it does when someone is hit.
Not 100% on that, though.

And tables and any other broken object are all pre-cut. Unless it was ECW. ECW was "real".
Guy in English Class wearing BATISTA shirt: "ECW was just a WWF rip-off!"

If he replaced "ECW" with "TNA" and "WWF" with "WCW", then he'd be 100% correct.
