But when it's over you have a connection with them. Call me crazy, but hurting people and sex are very similar. I have had to go through some hazing before. It's dumb and pointless, but then when it was my turn I turned around and did it to the next guys. It's what happens. Sorry, but no. I think that is a case of going too far. Maybe I should have included "Rape and permanate injury" to the list of things I think is going too far...but I will defend that a certain level of hazing is not bad. There is something to be said about a group of friends who would allow their friends to abuse them in a way...I don't know how, maybe it is just a mind set I am in, but I think that hazing is just a form of bonding. I have no problems with conventional hazing...which usually means embarassment and a little bit of pain...if it goes to life altering situations, then you're right, way too far. But the shit I mentioned, that's funny, it's painful, and it somehow makes me feel closer to some of the people who I have called "friend" in my lifetime. You then have a few jokes about you, you find out what others had to do, you all joke about it, open a few beers and know that you two share something that no one else in your life will ever be able to share or understand.

Maybe that's the problem. Part of hazing is the bond that nobody is supposed to udnerstand. Should I know why I enjoy Scooby (a friend of mine) who made wear a thong while everyone gave me Buddah Palms? No. That was horrible mean thing to do, and yet, I love Scooby and all the boys who did that to me. I didn't mind when they were doing it because I knew it was all in good fun...good fun at my expense...but on the flip side I knew all of them had been in the same boat before. Yeah basically. When I first got into high school sports, I had to do one thing. Survive the "Green Team". Which is basically the scrub squad. B Team. Third stringers. I had to get the ever living crap knocked out of me every day minus Friday, and I had to survive it. I would then have to do other small things, like let the Seniors go ahead of me, basically it's a seniority thing. They would every once in a while try and get me to do something pretty crazy, and it always depended on what it was and how crazy it was and if I wanted to do it or not, I never did anything that would hurt me in any way. Hazing is pretty ridiculous, and it always makes me think of those ridiculous frat guys. Have to be a part of a ridiculous group and pay to be a part of a clique who everyone thinks is terrible anyway.

For the record, I am not saying that everyone has to be unboard with hazing. It's a stupid (I admit it's stupid) thing that certain groups of people feel they are exclusive enough to do. I don't have a problem with it since usually the person getting hazed knows what they are doing and getting into when they do it. I think it's one or more closet cases who are too ashamed or scared.
