...But the Vicky "turn" was something we all saw coming...
Wrestling itself often plays to morality in order to illicit a response. This is why any idiot waving a flag can be a face (As long as it's the right flag), Almost anyone who ever hits a girl will be a heel, etc. etc. These are easy examples, but pretty strong ones. Every couple of years, we get some "Un American" character who gets his ass kicked by a patriot and a couple of jobbers with American flags. Wrestling tells us to "Support the troops," And other innocuous statements, and again, it gets a response.
So the real question: It's clear that we put many people up on a pedastal, and the behaviour must go a certain way. Can you boo a widow? This isn't even a question of "Is this angle in poor taste," But simply, can you really boo someone who, logically (At least, by wrestling logic standards) falls into the same category as the American flag, puppies, and the troops?
Being a widow would seemingly make you an inherrent sympathetic figure in the simplistic, black and white rules of wrestling reactions. I mean, she should be able to get away with murder--Or at least kicking too puppies and blowing her nose on an American flag--And still smell like a rose.
I don't know, I just can't manage to "hate" her.
