 They'd may as well say that.

I actually saw The Highlanders as future WWE World Tag Team champions at one point. Now they're The Bushwhackers: The Next Generation.

At least The Bushwhackers won matches.

Hell The Bushwhackers defeated The Rogeaus at Wrestlemania V.

This episode of Raw has FLOWN by. But nothing much has really happened.

There are two new champions and we know whose McMahon "representative" will be.

I bet Khali could get semi-over if he kept doing those interviews in his native language.

That would be hilarious because everyone would say "what" after every sentence.

The Bushwhackers defeated The Rougeaus EVERY night. And when they left, they kicked The Beverly Brothers asses from city to city. Long live The Bushwhackers.

Every Raw tag team has been totally immasculated within the last year.

I looked it up.

Big Show & Kane, two guys put together because they're big.

Spirit Squad, I don't think I have to explain how badly they fucked the whole rest of the division

Flair and Piper, killed the Spirit Squad

Edge and Orton, again two singles wrestlers stuck together and given the belt for free

The thing people tend to forget about WrestleMania 1 is that it absolutely sucked.

And Greg Valentine was a solid hand, as far as a mid-carder who the fans could buy in to as a bit of a tough guy. But man, was he boring. He always came across as WWE's weak answer to Ric Flair, especially in the late 80s, early 90s.

Notice they haven't really mentioned who is going to be inducting the Hall of Famers this year. I wouldn't have thought that Larry 'The Axe' Hennig would induct Mr. Perfect into the HOF, he'll probably accept it on his behalf.

My guess is that Bobby Heenan, Ric Flair or Bret Hart will do the actual induction.

Problem with this match is that nobody surely believes Orton is going to get a clean win over Cena, especially with Cena heading into the main event of WrestleMania. So we know we're either getting a clean Cena win or a dubious Orton win. When the only options are so clear to the viewer before the match even starts, it renders the match pointless.

Say what you will about Vince Russo as a booker, but the most sensible thing he ever did (and the main reason WWE came back and destroyed WCW) was that he "ripped up the rule book", all the things you just KNEW were going to happen (such as the result of this match here) stopped happening. Whether Russo's booking was bad or good, at least you didn't see it coming most of the time.

Sunny definitely. She was the ORIGINAL Diva, and the most downloaded woman on the internet for a couple of years. Okay, she fucked herself up over the years, and I wouldn't really care to see her back WORKING for the WWE, but Hall of Fame for sure. She was the originator.

I guess that also makes her indirectly to blame for all the talentless totty we get on TV today, but don't hold it against her...

I said it before, I'll say it again... Cena vs Michaels won't seem like a proper main event, until they eliminate the "one half of DX" aspect of Shawn's character. When has one half of an active tag team ever main evented WrestleMania, let alone won the WWE title?

NeanderCarl
02-19-2007, 11:01 PM
(And, champions or not, I don't class HBK and Cena as an "active tag team". I mean a REAL team, with a team name, who tag more often than wrestle singles, which DX have over the last 9 months or so.)

Splaya
02-19-2007, 11:11 PM
I actually see Cena snapping next week in the tag title match. Like let's say they lose. Cena goes over to shake Michaels hand, Shawn actually shakes his hand, walks away, Cena pulls him back, BAM. FU to HBK.

This way you get the heel champion being chased by the face challenger. As far as I'm concerned, they have all but turned Batista as well.

CYCLOPTERSAURUS
02-20-2007, 12:32 AM
My thought would be for HBK to tease the superkick again next week, and Cena to just go berserk and bash him to pieces with a chair (i.e. heel turn).

Corkscrewed
02-20-2007, 12:49 AM
They're not gonna turn Cena heel.

And even if they did, it'd be stupid to do it before Wrestlemania.

Wrestlemania 14

Granted he lost, but he was still part of DX

ummm, The mega powers expolde? Mania 5?

Dave Youell
02-20-2007, 05:48 AM
What are they doing with the Edge/Orton feud now? It makes Zero sense to have Edge in that match

Loose Cannon
02-20-2007, 07:29 AM
The Mega Powers were not a tag team at Mania 5. They broke up weeks before.

And I see what he's saying about DX. Let's face it, today HBK is 2nd in command in DX. Back in 1998, he was the man.

NeanderCarl
02-20-2007, 04:20 PM
Back in 1998, DX was a faction. Okay, by the time WM14 rolled around, Rick Rude had left and it was a three person deal, but still... nowadays it's a tag team, nothing more.

NeanderCarl
02-20-2007, 04:25 PM
There can only be one of three reasons for keeping DX alive (with HBK wearing all the gear, coming out to the DX music and video and being announced as "DX member...", shilling the DVDs etc):

a) so Triple H can keep getting a nice paycheck while he's sat on the sidelines
b) so Triple H can turn heel on his return, and betray HBK who kept DX alive for months only to have it thrown back in his face
c) so the group stays hot for when Triple H returns.

All of those options revolve around the same person: Triple H. The man who isn't even active at the moment, for fucks sake.

This does not benefit Shawn Michaels (who apparently dislikes the DX angle anyway), it does not benefit WrestleMania (which is traditionally WWE's biggest money-spinning event of the year and thus all promotional activities, storylines and focus should be directed towards it at this time of year), and it will only serve to benefit WWE (if it even does) many months down the line, when the damage to both Shawn and WrestleMania has already been done.

DAMN iNATOR
02-22-2007, 12:53 PM
That was a pretty boring Raw. Okay, a few title changes, a couple announcements, and still.... meh

Actually, I thought both title changes Monday were completely inappropriate and unnecessary, especially for a 400 lb. semi who at times makes Khali's ranting sound intelligent who only has like 5-7 moves in his arsenal, and we all know Melina has tremendous skill in the ring, but does she really need the Women's Championship at this early point in her career? As much as I hate to say it this looks to be another one of those shitty pre-WM "feuds" between 2 divas (Mickie & Melina in this case, as it were), that leads to Mickie re-capturing the belt at Mania, not that I'd mind the title switching, but I don't like the prospect of this angle right now, as it seems to be pointing in the direction where you can just tell the writers have decided, "okay, we need to go back to the 'Mickie's a psycho-bitch' plot." But anyway,...*SIGH*:nono:
