John Cena and Shawn Michaels were true to their word at No Way Out—Cena battled alongside HBK as hard as he will against him when they meet at WrestleMania 23, while The Showstopper had the WWE Champ’s back during their unbelievable victory against World Champion Batista and Undertaker Sunday night. So what’s next for the World Tag Team Champions? Will they remain allies going into Bakersfield tonight, or will their mutual respect for one another begin to crumble under the weight of championship gold? With WrestleMania 23 looming, it’s time to get a championship contract in place—specifically, inside a briefcase latched over the ring within Detroit’s Ford Field. The first round of “Money in the Bank” Qualifying Matches begins in Bakersfield tonight, with Edge squaring off against ECW’s Rob Van Dam. Since the Rated-R Superstar and the ECW Original were the respective “Bank” winners of the past two WrestleManias, this encounter ensures that one will not earn a bid into the match at the granddaddy of them all. Who will be the first to cash out?

Girls’ Fight Out

As announced last week, Melina meets Mickie James for the Women’s Championship tonight on Raw. The primal-screaming Diva’s first attempt two weeks ago proved unsuccessful, but she may have earned an A-list advantage after scoring a pinfall over the Women’s Champion in last week’s Mixed Tag Team Match. Will Melina’s success carry over from the red carpet to the ring, or can Mickie keep the gold around her waist?

From a storyline stand point, why would Trump hire a man who just got beat cleanly, by his would be opponent?Two points come to mind, WWE doesn't really care that much if things make sense, especially when it can be justified that Jeff would be picked by a man who knows little to nothing about wrestling.

Secondly, the match could easily change in the coming weeks, maybe Trump confidently asks to make it a No DQ match or some other sort of gimmick match that would make it much more plausible for Hardy to win at.

He plays his role fantastic, and has a more interesting moveset than most bigger sized wrestlers. Yeah his finisher is kinda lame, but it has kinda grown on me, and the people he uses it on usually do a good enogh job selling it that it actually does look fairly brutal.

Valentine was a miserable bore. All that "it takes him fifteen minutes just to warm up" bullshit was just an excuse as to why his matches sucked. I liked Rougeau as a worker, and the Mountie character was a scream, but the character was a whipping boy, and a 2 day reign (or whatever it was)? Not a glorious period for the IC title. Good job he was sandwiched between two of the best, Hart and Piper.

It's always pissed me off. Kane wasn't an IC champion. Sure I didn't mind it because I like him, but it wasn't good for him or the belt to make it look like the losers lounge for the main event.
You get jobbed out, and then come and become a big fish in a small pond.

Much better when its used as a stepping stone towards main event success. Or even if you've already had it, and come back to the IC division, it be in the name of the wrestler moving forward.

Well I agree that there may be a couple better choices than Umaga, but I still wouldn't call him a bad choice. In fact this is probably the best way to keep Umaga's heat, and presence on raw strong. As booking a wrestler who has come off a long undefeated streak can be quite difficult. Jeff Hardy really isn't going to lose any momentum I don't think. He's way too over. In fact, this could free him up to persue bigger things. Umaga needs the title more right now imo.

My argument was that the belt still serves the same purpose as a credible and legendary secondary belt that serves as a stepping stone to the main event. You said it no longer had any credibility. To which I say, it does. Even though its hard to say right now. But the intercontinental belt until an hour ago was a wrestlers belt and has more credibility than any other belt in the industry besides the world titles. That includes the ECW and TNA belts.

Well like I said, Hardy is over enough with the fans where he doen't need the IC title. He could be lost in the shuffle for weeks, and one day they put him in an angle, he'll still be just as over as he was before. IMO, I would put him in a fued with Orton, or RVD. Hardy still isn't QUITE there as a viable contender for the world title, but if he gets the rub from someone like that, who is in the mainevent scene it could push him up to that next level. Which I think they should think about doing soon, considering how over hes been since he came back. But they wont.

I never expected him to, in fact I'm guessing the streak just came about by accident, much like Taker's did. Somebody realises the stats and sees they are onto something, and keep it going.

I do think that, off the back of Undertaker's run, WWE should keep the "undefeated at WrestleMania" streak alive as a gimmick, passing the torch from time to time. ie. Edge beats Taker at a future WM, then down the line Edge loses HIS unbeaten streak to another up=and-comer who has built up a little run.
